- I had arrived in Bangkok on a Thailand Pass visa and taken a train down to Hua Hin. In this video you will see what it is like to live in thailand and also that the city of Hua Hin is a very modern and exclusive Beach Town.
Useful information if you want to travel to Thailand after July 1st.
Thailand’s Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) has now removed the restriction of registering for the Thailand Pass program. Also, the erstwhile mandatory US$10,000 health insurance is no longer required for foreign visitors, effectively from July 1, 2022
The insurance is no longer mandatory but it is highly recommended. Foreigners and Thai nationals are now only required to show proof of either a certificate of vaccination or a negative RT-PCR or professional ATK test result within 72 hours of travel. These can be presented in either print or digital format.
CCSA has also made it clear that there will be random checks on arrivals at Thailand’s international airports or land border checkpoints. If travellers are not fully vaccinated and are unable to show proof of a pre-arrival negative test, they will be required to undergo a professional ATK (Antigen Test Kit) at the point of entry.

Too bad I just discovered your channel. I am a long time resident in Hua Hin and would have been happy to show you around. Tourism here has not yet recovered from the Covid shut downs, but Hua Hin is still home to many expats from all over. I would have taken you to Baan Khun Por for dinner. It is a huge outdoor food court with about 50 food stalls and 3 bars. You would have the opportunity there to meet many people. It's a bit humorous that you went to a Thai restaurant looking for Thai food and ended up eating a Chinese dish.
It's also humourus that he's staying in Takiab and is heading in to the city just to go to the beach. Most people would do the opposite.

Wow, Hua Hin has really changed over the years. I was there the last time in 2006 and the first time in september 1991. From 1991 to 2006 there were huge changes in development. Hua Hin was the first tropical beach I experienced in my life, so it has a special place in my heart. What I really love about Hua Hin is the seafood which is world class. The sand on the beach in the middle of town was so fine that it made noices when you walked on it. There were a lot of horses and horseshit on the beach too back then. :-) Tom Yam Khung is the best dish in the world for me. I hope I can still eat it after I just became a celiac.

First visit to Hua Hin 1975,
Changed heaps from the fishing village it was then. It was very quiet, 'lights out' after about 10 pm. Still love the place, got a shack there now. It's a very popular place for many northern Europeans , spend the European winter living in H.H, and go back home for the northern summer.
How did you manage the high drone fly over?
Authorities pretty strict now days what with the royal palace and airport nearby?

Hi William, great video, I totally love all your videos. The ice cubes with your coke at the restaurant had little holes in them. Those are my favorite kind of ice cubes. I thought you would buy a new shirt in Thailand because they are known for all their clothes. Pool tricks were so cool, be careful, haha. I can wait for deeper water, haha. Hua Hin is a popular resort town among locals since the old days as it has nice long beach and is not very far from Bangkok. That’s why you saw many nice condos and accommodations because many people bought a place here for their vacation home or for rental (investment).
I think your cashew nut chicken meal is quite expensive by Thai standard. It’s true that sitting im a restaurant is more expensive than eating street foods, but it’s just chicken, not seafood. A more reasonable price for that dish including rice would be around Bt150.
Lub D is a nice hostel chain that has a location in Koh Samui (Samui Island). It may be worth checking out f you are heading to Samui.

Good luck for you . I will follow you in your adventures in and around huahin , because since 1986 I was living in the area of huahin for many years. for your information. My special first beach was the Doolphin Bay about 35 km south of huahin with a nice ,4 km long beach , and many small hotels from 500 baht to 900 on the beach or only some meters away. In front of the sea you sea some pretty islands. on one island you can find friendly monkeys not like in huahin the " mafia monkeys ".

@William Taudien no it is only one year ago. Dolphin Bay is in the Sam Roi Yot National Park. Since 1986 until today it is my home ,if I stay in Thailand. And just now in low season it is easy to find Hotels between 600 - 900 Baht.
