I am Thai and I personally love Huahin so much, nice vibes, clean city,no chaos, easily and safe crossing the road it's just the perfect place to me ❤️❤️
I'm 63 years old, recently retired and headed to Hua Hin in 10 days from USA. I plan to stay for 1 month to see if this spot would be good for me to live long-term. I have been to about 10 other locations in Thailand over the years and kind of want somewhere quiet in the south. Thanks for your video I feel like I have made a good choice for this upcoming trip. Stay safe!
Thank the Lord for this video!!!!! What a coincidence. I just booked my flight for Bangkok a couple days ago for the International Muay Thai event in Bangkok in September to watch. I was planning to go to huahin to train over there. And never been to Hua Hin or Bangkok before. THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO!!!!
I like it. Wonderland, Market Village, Soi 88 food court, chilled out nowhere near as fast-paced, less traffic than bkk/pattaya, decent beach, but there's not as many options as those places, but I go there every time I go to thailand for a few days. Hua hin was quiet even during Christmas period BEFORE covid, it's always struggled compared to bkk/pattaya/phuket but it attracts a different demographic. And interestingly it seems to attract mainly European tourists compared to bkk/pattaya that have far more indians or russians.
I had a tour around Thailand for 3 months stayed all the main spots from CM to Puhket .. stayed in HH for just 2 weeks but overall it was my fave and I intend to go there for a long stay to fully get into it. Im late 60s and really enjoyed the pace, local people, easy shopping malls, local bars with music etc enjoyed the beach great for a long walk or just sit by the rocks around 5pm for a beer ..perfect! Transport really good..bus,taxi,train station, airport..so getting to Chiang Mai, Bangkok etc is an easy option. So for me a great place to stay long term with options to visit other places from there. Planning a return Sept. Great video! Nice to see a positive spin on Hua Hin from a younger guy. Thank you. :)
I've been visiting Hua Hin for over 20 years to see a now retired work colleague. I used to think it was so boring, I couldn't wait to get to Pattaya after a week in Hua Hin. Now I much prefer Hua Hin...I'd never go back to Pattaya. Hua Hin is perfect for me now. What really appeals to me is that Hua Hin is a proper European tourist place. Nationalities that you see in Pattaya and Phuket in mass...you very rarely see in Hua Hin...I think you will know the nationalities I mean. Anyway, great video.
I just got back last week of 6 months in Thailand. Spent 5 weeks in Hua Hin and my fav by far as a potential place to live. Your video was perfect for a high level understanding of HH without going to deep into details. People can go to other vids for that. I'll share this vid with my friends who ask me what place I liked best. There's one more thing you could have mentioned that is important to me as a place to live. HH is large enough to keep you busy all year doing lots of things within walking distance and even more if you get a scooter, However what I also like is that its really close to Bangkok. Its a very short visit to experience big city life for a 3 day geataway. Catch major enetertainmnet events, huge world class malls, numerous great nieghborhoods, etc...and only 3 hours away by a brand new train or even very comfortable luxury busses for about $10. Even a Grab car ride all the way from dowtown Bangkok to your front door in HH would only be about $65 US.
When I went to Thailand for the first time, it was Phuket. Patong. In 2000. Different from now. I was younger. Now I am 60 and thinking about retiring in Thailand. And Hua Hin is not the place that will impress you most, when you're on holiday. But it is a good place to meet people, have a good time (with your wife, or not your wife) and enjoy a relaxed lifestyle.
We came to Thailand for retirement, we went around Thailand for almost two years, Chiangmai, Krabi and Phuket, we chose Hua hin because what you said, not too much, not too busy, can go to Bangkok for big things in one day. Perfect!
Just spent a month there myself. Made so many new friends with local expats doing my hobby tennis and pickleball. This place is locked in for my retirement!
Enjoy your video I've have been traveling to southeast Asia for over 18 years Diving and having nights fun now I'm retired and older and been doing lots research about Hua Hin and surrounding areas like Cha Am it's definitely not like the fun I would have in Phuket or Nana Plaza in Bkk but the more videos I watch like yours Hua Hin is on my check out list when I will travel to Thailand in November and look for a place to move too thanks for being real on your information just think moving from Miami to Thailand !
Appreciate this comment, it’s defo not like those areas for nightlife but it’s got its own charm, appeal and has some nightlife there when you want it too. I like it a lot!
Thanks for sharing! We're planning a 6 month home base here starting in September. We love Thailand but wanted a change from Chiang Mai! We spent most of 2023 home based in Chiang Mai but also explored Pai, Chiang Rai, Phuket, Pattaya and Bangkok. We miss Thailand and can't wait to get back. Great video.
I'm travelling to Thailand for 7 weeks starting next week and wasn't sure where to go . I'm a solo traveller and looking for somewhere to call base for the first 3 weeks . You have definitely helped me make my decision . Looking for somewhere chilled but also have all tge other stuff ! Thanks for the video ! I am now following you 👌 Nice work

I know Thailand since 35 yrs and we settled in Hua Hin because it's the best weather, the best Villas to rent/buy, lots of things to do but quite and not to touristic. Most foreign people live here perm. If you come to Thailand for Nightlife and Bars go to BKK, Phuket or Pattaya.
I just spent 2 weeks in April and all of May in HH. I found the perfect accomodation for price and location. I usually stay in a hotel when I go to a new city/town and treat the first 2 or 3 days finding the best area to live..then the best deals in that area for longer term. I found a fantastic location called Baan Klang Hua Hin Condominium. It's a large residential complex where some people bought units to rent out on AirBnB. Its right in the heart of everything within 2 to 3 blocks walking distance of the beach, largest night street market, largest wet market for fresh food if you like to cook, enetertainmnet areas, etc. The place has 2 pools, gym, baclcony, kitchen etc. It's sort of set behind the stores on the main road which makes it surprisingly quiet considering where you are. I was paying around $25 a night when I booked it for a month with AirBnB. I had to pay extra for water and electricity..which was apx $70 for the month.
I am older in my 50's and happy to hear a young person like you preferring Hua Hin over Phuket. I stayed in Phuket 1-2 months every year for 15 years before Covid. I also visited Hua Hin during then from time to time, and 10-15 years ago I thought Phuket was much better. The last 3 years Hua Hin has been my place, but I just thought i was getting older. And yes Golf is must better in Hua Hin. Phuket simply too touristy everywhere now.
Nice video and accurate. I spent six weeks there last year and I went back again early this year. I’m going to look for an apartment with a view to staying even longer now the tourist visa situation is better.
Been to hua hin. Going back this year staying in town centre this time. We are oldies on a grey gap year. Last time drunk myself stupid and bought myself a cut price LFC kit as well as a superb wall hanging. Beach is good had a few cold ones on the bars there. Great street food. Luv'd it😂😂😂
I’m 71 years old and been to Thailand but never HH… considering going for a month to get out of USA cold winters… is it a good choice? Looks quieter than BKK and Pattaya and Phuket
I think it’s a great choice but everyone’s got their preferences. There’s an older demographic here and slower pace, depends what you’re after, I like it a lot. Thanks for the comment!
Hi Josh, great video, def food for thought. I plan to relocate to Thailand about Nov time. Just subscribed and appreciate your points and balanced views. Cheers
@@josh.onthemove defo travel there and see, thinking might like a bit busier option. Really like Kamala beach area Phuket, with a bad of madness up the road. But expense is always going to come into it, that’s why kinda drawn to Jomtien Pattaya and just visit places
Spending time in Bangkok and Pattaya/Jomtien now, but do plan to visit HH later this year. It seems like a cool place for long-term living. I like the combination of a relaxed vibe, clean beaches and a bit of a city feel: shops, malls etc. Also, it is not so close to the affected by the burning season area, so the air quality should be fine. We are also younger, but after Canary Islands, Portugal and especially Madeira, we got used to many retired ppl from all over the world :) thanks for the excellent video!
Thanks for the comment. That’s exactly my thoughts and why I think HH is so nice and well rounded. Give it a go, I think you’ll like it too once you get settled in 👍🏻
Hello Josh. First vlog I’ve seen by you and tbf you summed Hua Hin up perfectly. I’m late 50’s and have been visiting HH since the late 80’s and have a love hate relationship with it. Last time I was there in April I loved it. Moving there permanently in October.
@@ShikokuFoodForestEverything about hua hin is vastly better than any city in the Philippines and it's far cheaper in hua hin for accommodation, food, massage, services and entertainment. Dating is easier in the Philippines.
@@matrices3987 Have you lived in the Philippines & Hua Hin? What do you like better in Hua Hin specifically? How about the language barrier - were you able to easily make friends with locals and expats in Hua Hin or is it easier in the Philippines?
Spot on mate. Have spent a lot of time in Hua Hin. Back there soon. Chang market is called Baan Kun Phor by the way. Great place for a cheap night out 👍
Thank you very much for your posting , Hua Hin is high on my priority list for re-locating to, I'm going to rent out my condo here, in another well known city in Thailand , That has grown far too much in size and repututation over the past 25 yrs , and i must be honest "Not for the better either " I gotta re-locate I'm too chilled and laid back and have too much respect and love for Thailand and have grown accustom to traditional Thai customs , culture That have are now seemigly a bye gone existence where i'm currently living .
Hi mate, seems like you got a better deal from the 2nd place in Hua Hin - is there a street name where the accommodation was located - as you say, somewhere a bit closer to getting normal everyday things etc ? Cheers
Very helpful thanks. Was in Pattaya for three weeks and quite honestly I hated it! Traffic, pollution, noise, scams and just general vibe was not for me. Hua Hin looks more like it and I will give it a look in Feb. Nice to have some beer bars and low key entertainment on hand too so thanks again.
It’s ok, much better elsewhere in this department but plenty of cafes to choose from, just not the usual working environment style cafes if that’s what you’re looking for 👍🏻
I lived there for 3 months and I loved it. Rented a scooter, made a huge difference. Lots of stuff to do, cheap condos, easy to meet nice ladies. Chiang market was my fav spot.
Great informative videos. The monk scene is so epic, as a photographer i hope i can catch that. Was there a specific time you went to the beach to see that? Going next week for a month to train Muay Thai.
Sick, nothing like training Muay Thai in Thailand 🙌🏻. The monks are usually around early morning, I done this walk daily in HH and it’s always a nice feeling seeing them, especially on the beach, enjoy and thanks for the comment!
Just arrived a few days ago and I’m staying well out of town and grab finds it hard to find where I’m staying, so I’ve got to do some recon on where I can go to see HH
Thanks! I just checked Airbnb but more recently I’ve been booking through Facebook marketplace. A little more risky as they’re not relying on positive reviews but if you’re in the area first you can view it which is ideal
We were looking at this because its not too too far from bangkok. So we watched videos and compared hua hin to pattaya and found that hua hin would be the better option. But in the beginning might be in bangkok first before moving around.
Great video, we wanted something different to Samui, but don’t know whether to go back to Vietnam, don’t fancy Phuket either to be honest, what is best way to travel down from Bangkok ?
That was the exact position I was in. If you’ve got the opportunity, try it and see how you like it 🙌🏻. I caught a taxi down for around 1,700 THB but I’ve also caught the bus which was direct to BKK airport and spacious/ cheaper 👍🏻
Train is an option too but from what I know, the comfortable and quick option for a train only runs 1x per day currently (I could be wrong with this and they might’ve changed it recently but this was the case a while back)
As a local, you hit the nail right on the head. Hua Hin is not a party town, though there are some club but they might not play the kind of music you had in mind. Our town is more for retirement and family oriented fun.
Great video, i am coming to Bangkok soon, i want to visit Hua Hin, can you recommend any other places to visit? I am there for 4 weeks, i usualy go to phuket, just looking for a change, thanks
I really liked Hua Hin for the same reasons. I like the quiet style, more local feel. I stayed close to a night life area, walking distance from the train station, almost next to the beach as well. 7/11 around the corner. nice little restaurants as well. aside from not being able to sleep much because I could hear the music, I really enjoyed my stay there. It was a very short stay though. Few nights. But I'm going back in January, staying in two places this time. Still a short stay. But now I can explore two areas a little more. Maybe some other time, I can stay for a month or so. Indeed exploring places to stay for a longer stay.
Hi Josh, really good video and i thought as soon as you moved to La Casita you would enjoy Hua Hin much more. Going towards Khao Takiab is just too far out. A really good TH-cam channel is "Having fun with Nina." Lovely Thai lady with her Australian Cameraman. She's an adorable, infectious personality and videos great places to eat, stay, entertainment etc. I'm hoping to be staying at La Casita around September time. Great position between Market Village and Blu Port, close to the beach, Soi 94 and importantly next to Bangkok Hospital for us oldies 😃. Look forward to more Hua Hin videos. 🇹🇭🌞
Thanks John, definitely enjoyed my time much more once I moved to la casita 🙌🏻. Will check out Nina’s page too. Haha stay safe so you don’t end up in that hospital 😉
Cheers Josh. Here's one my favourite Nina videos - her top 5 Hua Hin restaurants. I'm sure you'll see what I mean about her personality and her banter with cameraman:- th-cam.com/video/fqn_7K1Cdi4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=G6q2xGa-01znkTjA All good wishes.
There’s also a group of bars that open to around 0400 0500 at the back of Mai tai bar they call them the karaoke bars there’s a small night club in the small complex I use Nancy bar that’s ok and sonsam bar next to Mai tai bar mark Southampton uk
Best video of hua hin I've seen, rest have just been showing the bar areas, I'm off next week, I've been all over Thailand but first time in hua hin, cheers mate
Just found your channel and this was a great video about Huahin. I assume you travelled and stayed in Huahin as a solo traveller? how did find staying there alone? was it easy to meet people?
I stayed there for 2 months solo. Not as easy to meet people as other areas of Thailand I’ve been although if you get into the local gyms/ bars you’ll probably find it easier. That was one of the downfalls of HH but it is possible to meet others doing similar 👍🏻
Hey, I was curious to see what a younger man was going to have to say for such a comparison. Obviously, and as you said, two different scenes going on between the two. Personally, I think you got it right...but Phuket is nice....but quite touristy...which is not so much for me at my age any longer. I haven't been to Hua Hin yet but I'm doing some recon on it to see if it is a place I may spend time in retirement. You did a decent job in a short time going through some of the topics to think about.
@@makiavelli6101 thanks for the comment, it’s defo got some things missing for my demographic but as a whole, one of my favourite places in Thailand. If I was 15-20 years older, there’d be no competition 👍🏻
Hey josh. Good take on hua hin. Been to pattaya. Phuket and just love hua hin that much that i left Melbourne's shit weather. Inflation and a boring job and lifestyle for my wife and i. It helps that my wjfe is from hua hin. Big bonus. First time warching aby of your stuff. But will certainly check more of your content. Look forward to ypur next vid in hua hin and enjoy oz. It is a great place. But not as good as Thailand 😂. Cheers mate. 🎉
Thanks for the comment Steve, defo can think of worse places to live than HH and Thailand. Melbourne is nice for a visit, I’ve been in winter and it be warm and summer and it be cold lol, UK type weather!
Hi , we.are looking at staying at the amari looks very nice , but it's close to where you stayed at first , would you say to far south ? Or is it easy enough on the baht bus ? Thanks for any help mate ... Great vids 👌
I don’t think you’re too far away, just slightly out of the places you might want to go and eat/ drink in the evenings. If you’ve got a nice hotel and facilities, you’ll likely spend plenty of time in there and it’ll only be 5-10 mins on the baht bus or taxi. It depends if you want to be able to walk to everything or don’t mind a short drive. I’d think it’s a good place to stay for a holiday 👍🏻
Hey Josh. Great video. Very informative, to the point, and entertaining. I'm planning to return to SE Asia for the first time since getting locked down in Thailand 2020. I'll probably go with a month visit first to find my feet again, and Hau Hin has been getting more and more attractive. What's the name of your 2nd hotel/condo
Great video. I was in Chiang Mai for 1.5 years and had enough of the weather and no access to a beach so moved to HH 6 weeks ago. Loving it so far. Weather is far better here than CM and it may not be as picturesque as the islands, it's still pretty nice. Any recommendations for cafes to work from? I am missing the co working spaces and coffee scene in CM tho. Thanks again for uploading the video.
is buying a phone cheaper there than in the west?[Canada] I'm going to Hua hin in Dec for 2 weeks, is la habana condo [right near hua hin beach on map] a central/good location? thx for the content & any info!
From what I’ve seen, any tech from the big companies and trustworthy brands are the same in Thailand and the west. I could be wrong but this is also what others have said too. Buying electricals where you live gives you the added warranty/ ease of return too. La Habana is a nice and modern complex next to the weekend markets, slightly out of the centre but not far to get anywhere by grab or transport. Thanks for the comment!
It's very popular with older retirees from the West. No crazy nightlife (an old palace of a former Thai King is not far away, so it feels subdued). Quite a few older Westerners go to settle there after they get fed up of the craziness of Pattaya. It's also popular with Thais as a relaxing holiday venue.
This is good i was debating betweek bangkok and hua hin and so far hua hin is mixed from what i see but we dont party, we dont drink we dont do much for night time haha
Very accurate description of Hua Hin. Golfing capital of Thailand, coastal water is very shallow out to 100m or more. Best for older people who want a regular life and central to many other places to visit. Not good for young partyers or extreme sports adventurers.
Cracking video, first I've watched of yours! - I'm 31 and been to HH a few times the last 2 years and love it compared to Phuket etc. Plan on going back in September to train for a few weeks - HH is much better for me personally than Phuket etc as it's a bit quieter as you said with a few good gyms and pubs! Not sure if you'll be back but if you ever are the Guinness is on me
I’m going to spend an extended period in Samui too, I’ve been but never for long. Never been to Pai, maybe next year. HH is probably my fav overall. Thanks for the comment
Is that South Lake and Bibra Lake nature reserve?? Love the Thailand vids. Be careful of the birds they probably want you to go away and nesting season they dive bomb. Sounds of the West Australian bush.
They sound like it all day and night, if I’m in the house or in the bush mate… they only annoy me when I’m recording a video, 1st world problems 🤣 I’m in Perth 👍🏻
@@josh.onthemove Perth 👍👍thought so,👍👍. Lived here all my life, 2 short stints in Sydney, holidays in South East Asia. Thailand has everything. When do you leave Perth.
I’ll try but there will be better suited people to answer this than me. Hua Hin - older demographic, 50+ as a general rule, quite often 60’s or 70’s, farangs. Bangkok - everyone and anyone depending where you are and what you’re looking for, you’ll probably find a community doing similar things Chiang Mai - many digital nomads and slightly younger expats that live there long term, less partying Anyone else got input on this?
@joshbonthemove Hey, thanks a lot for trying. I've never been to Thailand yet. This is definitely helpful . Hopefully I'll be able to make it there soon 😊
for us thais any thai beach resort is better than Phuket, yes Phuket is great for 1st time overseas travelers to thailand! otherwise it's overrated, overpriced, overrun by foreigners! the market villege is massive and surprisingly cheap!
Hua Hin is great for living but there is no vibe its good for families though and nice and quiet for retired people. Chiang mai is better if you wanna experience a nice vibe and great outdoors.
I’ve only spent a couple weeks in chiang mai and didn’t love it, will give another go at some point but I like being by the coast. HH is defo great for living and a laid back vibe, it’s a little quiet at times but I like it. People are very friendly there too
You're at that point where you're starting to change from party mode to relax/quieter mode as long as it provides all the necessities and energy when you need it at night....I think

Lived here for 6 years, still loving it :D Great video! as people states in the comments, the Chang market is called Baan khun Por :D

Nice work Josh...What was the name of your 2 condo that you said was a 10/10? Thank you
It was called La Casita 👍🏻
My favorite city in Thailand. Hope to move there from Jomtien when my lease expires
It's probably mine so far too 👍🏻
Been to hua hin. Going back this year staying in town centre this time. We are oldies on a grey gap year. Last time drunk myself stupid and bought myself a cut price LFC kit as well as a superb wall hanging. Beach is good had a few cold ones on the bars there. Great street food. Luv'd it😂😂😂
What is a cut price kit ?
I'd have to be really drunk to by any LFC merch ;)
Hua hin is a great place. Fantastic beaches, it's very safe and relaxed. It is mainly for older people imo.
Excellent video mate! Really enjoyed that 👏👏
Thanks big man!
Cheers
Thanks for the comment and sub. Check out HH, it might not be for everyone but it might be for you 👍🏻
@@josh.onthemove defo travel there and see, thinking might like a bit busier option.
Give it a go, I think you’ll like it too once you get settled in 👍🏻
Thinking about Hua Hin this season, great video mate thanks a bunch
Thanks for the comment. I like it a lot!
Hello Josh. First vlog I’ve seen by you and tbf you summed Hua Hin up perfectly. I’m late 50’s and have been visiting HH since the late 80’s and have a love hate relationship with it. Last time I was there in April I loved it. Moving there permanently in October.
Thanks for the comment, exciting times mate, hope the move goes well!
What are your thoughts on the Philippines vs Hua Hin??
Thanks for the comment. I liked it a lot and didn’t expect to. Go give it a go, great little town 🙌🏻
Hi mate, seems like you got a better deal from the 2nd place in Hua Hin - is there a street name where the accommodation was located - as you say, somewhere a bit closer to getting normal everyday things etc ? Cheers
what was the second place you stayed at?
Very helpful thanks. Was in Pattaya for three weeks and quite honestly I hated it! Traffic, pollution, noise, scams and just general vibe was not for me. Hua Hin looks more like it and I will give it a look in Feb. Nice to have some beer bars and low key entertainment on hand too so thanks again.
I love the images of the monks on the beach, nice......
Me too, every morning, was a nice start to the day!
Thank you! Very helpful. How's the café culture?
It’s ok, much better elsewhere in this department but plenty of cafes to choose from, just not the usual working environment style cafes if that’s what you’re looking for 👍🏻
@@josh.onthemove Thanks. I'll be checking it out next year!
I lived there for 3 months and I loved it. Rented a scooter, made a huge difference.
Lots of stuff to do, cheap condos, easy to meet nice ladies.
Chiang market was my fav spot.
Defo a great spot, especially if you have a scooter to get around 🙌🏻
Chiang market in Hua Hin?
@@donjoe2661 They mean Bann Khun Por
Great informative videos. The monk scene is so epic, as a photographer i hope i can catch that. Was there a specific time you went to the beach to see that?
Going next week for a month to train Muay Thai.
Sick, nothing like training Muay Thai in Thailand 🙌🏻. The monks are usually around early morning, I done this walk daily in HH and it’s always a nice feeling seeing them, especially on the beach, enjoy and thanks for the comment!
I lived here for 4 months & it's my favourite place in thailand
It’s a great place!
Just arrived a few days ago and I’m staying well out of town and grab finds it hard to find where I’m staying, so I’ve got to do some recon on where I can go to see HH
Awesome video man. Thanks for that. Where did you find such cheap accommodation? I am checking airbnb and everything seems pricey
I really liked Hua Hin! You can always try it first 😎
@@josh.onthemove that's true!
Helo sir, how do you feel with so many Europeans coming to retire in Thailand, do you think there too many of them
Great video, i am coming to Bangkok soon, i want to visit Hua Hin, can you recommend any other places to visit? I am there for 4 weeks, i usualy go to phuket, just looking for a change, thanks
Love it if you could give me some names of condos you stayed in going there in November. Thank you Sean
Thanks for the comment Sean, the first condo was Ban Imm Aim condo, second was La Casita 👍🏻. Enjoy your trip
Are most things walkable from la casita ? Looks great for the prices
@@josh.onthemove Thank you!
I'm sure you'll see what I mean about her personality and her banter with cameraman:-

Thank you! Appreciate the comment and glad you liked the video!
That condo 10 out of 10, could you tell us the name of the complex? Ps, good video.
Hi Bro, sorry if you've already done this, but can you please share the name of that second condo you gave 10 out of 10 stars for? 🎉❤

Really interesting. I absolutely love HH. Great vibe, just need to slow down. The seafood is really good.😊
I agree, I’m in phuket right now and miss HH!
@@josh.onthemove the golf is excellent too. There is a reason why the Thai royal family have a place there.👍

@joshbonthemove ok thanks for taking the time to reply, looking forward to hua hin .
what were the names of the two condos you stayed in ? One of them looked pretty decent

I call it Chang market but it’s actually called Baan Kun Por locally, soi 88 👍🏻

Great video. I was in Chiang Mai for 1.5 years and had enough of the weather and no access to a beach so moved to HH 6 weeks ago. Loving it so far. Weather is far better here than CM and it may not be as picturesque as the islands, it's still pretty nice.
Any recommendations for cafes to work from? I am missing the co working spaces and coffee scene in CM tho.
Thanks again for uploading the video.
Is Hua Hin affected by the burning season in the North and the prevailing winds that can make even BKK have bad air quality?
is buying a phone cheaper there than in the west?[Canada] I'm going to Hua hin in Dec for 2 weeks, is la habana condo [right near hua hin beach on map] a central/good location? thx for the content & any info!
Do you mind giving the name of your second condo?
Great video!
Thanks for the comment, the first condo was Ban Imm Aim condo, second was La Casita 👍🏻
@@josh.onthemove Thanks so much!
Is Hua Hin a good place to go if you’re pretty introverted and just want to focus on your training, fitness and cheap cost of living?
I had a similar experience -- I warmed to it and miss certain spots ! Going back 😊 and staying longer
I wonder about Hua Hin vs Pattaya
It's very popular with older retirees from the West. No crazy nightlife (an old palace of a former Thai King is not far away, so it feels subdued). Quite a few older Westerners go to settle there after they get fed up of the craziness of Pattaya. It's also popular with Thais as a relaxing holiday venue.
Great video , are you a ultimate fighter?
Thanks for the comment, I'm undefeated and retired with a record of 0-0-0 😉

This is good i was debating betweek bangkok and hua hin and so far hua hin is mixed from what i see but we dont party, we dont drink we dont do much for night time haha
The rentals in Hua Hin, did you pay extra for electric, or was that included in the price?
Very accurate description of Hua Hin. Golfing capital of Thailand, coastal water is very shallow out to 100m or more. Best for older people who want a regular life and central to many other places to visit. Not good for young partyers or extreme sports adventurers.
Do you have the name of the condo you stayed at ( second one)
Cracking video, first I've watched of yours! - I'm 31 and been to HH a few times the last 2 years and love it compared to Phuket etc.
Plan on going back in September to train for a few weeks - HH is much better for me personally than Phuket etc as it's a bit quieter as you said with a few good gyms and pubs! Not sure if you'll be back but if you ever are the Guinness is on me

Is that South Lake and Bibra Lake nature reserve??
Love the Thailand vids.
Be careful of the birds they probably want you to go away and nesting season they dive bomb.

The beaches are better in Phuket, gotta agree on that :)
HH is just Chill, nothing better. Would be a great place to live 100%.
Agreed
Can anyone compare the expat demographics of Hua Hin, Bangkok and Chiang Mai? Thank you.
I’ll try but there will be better suited people to answer this than me.
Hua Hin - older demographic, 50+ as a general rule, quite often 60’s or 70’s, farangs.
Bangkok - everyone and anyone depending where you are and what you’re looking for, you’ll probably find a community doing similar things
Chiang Mai - many digital nomads and slightly younger expats that live there long term, less partying
Anyone else got input on this?
@joshbonthemove Hey, thanks a lot for trying. I've never been to Thailand yet. This is definitely helpful . Hopefully I'll be able to make it there soon 😊
Nice vid dude. When are you coming back for more UFC Sundays? :)
Ay Scott, thanks brother, hope to be back soon. Couple of plans first, then I'll be back 👊🏻
So where is best place to stay?
Depends on your preference, I'd suggest somewhere near Market Village or Bluport shopping centre would be a good starting point.
Aussie bush sounds are paradise. Whinging Pom 😂
Hahaha they're not when you're trying to record a video
Compared to the Thai bird called Asian Koel, Australia is silent haha
for us thais any thai beach resort is better than Phuket, yes Phuket is great for 1st time overseas
travelers to thailand! otherwise it's overrated, overpriced, overrun by foreigners!
the market villege is massive and surprisingly cheap!
Good take, I agree. As a first timer or for training, I think Phuket is good. Otherwise, there’s many better options
💯 % I hated it. After a week or so loved it.
Interesting you felt the same, strange 🤣
Hua Hin is great for living but there is no vibe its good for families though and nice and quiet for retired people.
Chiang mai is better if you wanna experience a nice vibe and great outdoors.
I’ve only spent a couple weeks in chiang mai and didn’t love it, will give another go at some point but I like being by the coast. HH is defo great for living and a laid back vibe, it’s a little quiet at times but I like it. People are very friendly there too
