Scary Train from Bangkok, Thailand 🇹🇭 (To Hua Hin) 2022

  • I had been in Bangkok, Thailand and the 5 star Carlton hotel but moved to the Mermaid hotel, also in the area of Sukhumvit. After several days in Bangkok I had decided to leave and head out on a train going to Hua Hin further down south in Thailand. It would come to be a very long and unforgettable ride. To come to thailand in 2022 you need a Thailand pass. You get the thailand pass visa that you apply for Online within 48 hours. It is a very easy process. All you need is a flight ticket to thailand, Vaccination, and an insurance that covers at least $10000 and also covers Covid 19. In the coming videos I will be heading to Chumpon, Koh Tao, koh Phangan and maybe some other Islands.
You can apply for the Thailand pass here tp.consular.go...
Make sure to be vaccinated for covid 19, have a flight booked and return flight, as well as a legit international insurance. If you are not vaccinated you can also get a Negative PCR Test to submit on the site.

This is very misleading. Thailand is expensive now. I've lived here for 12 years. Originally from UK, it's more expensive than UK in some aspects.

There are many levels of trains in Thailand to choose from and the level you use in this clip is the lowest/ most economical level. And that's the award for choosing the most economy class.... No air conditioning, no reclining chairs, and slow going.😁😂

Another excellent video. You now have a devoted personal following who can't wait to see your next adventure ! it must be VERY draining to travel in a strange land where most of the people don't speak English ( or Swedish ) i am AMAZED at just how modern, prosperous and clean Thailand looks so far as compared to india which appeared to me to be a real dump ..which is a shame. Thank you William !

Well to be fair, although I agree there is a difference, I would like to see the small towns of Thailand and see how they compare. Also I don't think William spent much time in the nicest areas of the cities in India as well.

@@saratemp790 Thailand is way-way ahead of India in every way. I lived there for 3+ years, there is no comparison really.
There is almost no abject poverty in Thailand, while in India its everywhere.

It'd be much easier and no confusion if you get the train ticket to Huahin from Hualampong Station. The Bang Sue grand station is planned to be used for every kind of train but hasn't been done so the normal train still use the old tracks/old Bansue Station, not the new one yet, and the train still depart from Hualampong. So confusing, I know 😩. Welcome to Thailand and hope you have a great trip!

    • @chaya-w7096
      @chaya-w7096 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@@Ok-br3wt The SRT had a plan to close the Hualampong and used Bangsue station instead but that affected lots of passengers who regularly commute from home out of Bkk into central of Bkk. That forced them to pay extra fee for transport plus extra time to get into where they used to also other impacts discussed so they hold off on the plan for now. The Bangsue is built to facilitate high speed trains which need few years to finish so the SRT will have to find the solution how to make the best use of these two stations.

The reason that the train keeps stopping is because it is mainly a single line route with double tracks here and there to allow trains coming from the opposite direction to pass. That's fine if every train is on schedule but there is mixed freight of both passenger and heavy, slow moving, long goods trains. if one train somewhere is not on time or there is a breakdown, then this can have a catastrophic knock on effect on the whole route.
A pity that it was dark when you arrived at Hua Hin, otherwise you would have seen the new elevated track and new station opposite to where you got off. Once this project is completed and I think that will be next year, it will provide a 2 track fast passenger service with no stopping except for stations. Once in operation that journey will take about two and a half hours.

FYI...IF YOU ARE RUNNING LATE CHECKING OUT , CALL THE FRONT DESK AND ASK FOR AN EXTENDED CHECKOUT AT NO CHARGE. USUALLY THEY ARE VERY ACCOMMODATING.

Several times I have done "research" before a trip and found information on ferries or trains, but when I got there, it turned out that the ferry service or train had been discontinued a long time ago. No one had bothered to change the webpage. There was a train from San Jose, Costa Rica, to the Caribbean coast that sounded like fun, but instead the train station had been converted into a train museum and there were lots of photos of years gone by when the train was in operation. The ferry I wanted to go on was in Japan. It had been discontinued for some time. I had to fly instead. Your train looked like lots of fun, very breezy. "A taxi, a taxi, my kingdom for a taxi!"

I have tried that before. But it was just a hassle and they would read it then try to type something on my phone but it would just end up taking a long time and still not really solve the language barrier problem

    I heard train slow.
I took the bus in 2019. That was fast, smooth. A smaller bus picked us up at hua hin, to bring us to the hotel, which was great.
Cannot remember but i think we paid a small amount, but it was all so convenient. This eas all from bangkok airport.
    Recommend hua hin.
