Same here but the first beat “gogo” I heard about from questlove. It’s a drum centric type of funk music. It’s so cool hearing the mechanics behind that pattern.

Honestly the best advice on the double-stroke roll I've ever heard.... accent the SECOND note. When you play it fast it sounds smooth.
More musical advice here than most anything out there on drum internet these days
