I will die on this hill, Estepario is head and shoulders above every other drummer on the planet right now. He is changing the perception of live vs programmed drums in real time and it is a fucking privilege to be witnessing his rise.
@@rudeboyjim2684 They're good, really good, but Estepario has some crazy precision. Dude basically goes deep meditative when he plays and becomes the drums
I think he "just" spends most of the day playing and trying stuff out. Playing in a successful band is limiting. You're on tour, playing the same songs over and over again, traveling and all that. Fans want you to keep playing a certain style, the other band members have their influence etc. Of course talent takes a part in it. Some people will never get to his level, but it's mostly just extremely hard work. That's the good thing about social media. Sometimes people can just make money through pure skill. He can keep his passion going and get rich doing it
Lifelong drummer here. It's the posture coupled with the complete and total efficiency of movement for me. That amount of power with zero wasted energy blows my mind.
Yea, this guy is so relaxed and smooth in his movements. Neil Peart had to take classes with Peter Erskine to loosen up, but this guy seems to have it just naturally. Which, of course, is due to him doing his 10.000 hours of practicing with the single goal of getting better.
I'm not a drummer (always wanted to), but always gmfavored great drummers, & while I love drummers that show their energy & passion, yet his efficacy & calmness on highly technical pieces is just beautiful to watch. I appreciate it on some videos where he wipes his brow afterwards just so we know he is human.
I haven’t stopped watching him play the drums for like 4 days straight now.. I normally hate when a classic song is done differently and even if the original band is the one doing the song different but what he adds to all these iconic classic songs is absolutely amazing…I haven’t heard a version he does that I didn’t like better than the original… the guy is outstanding! He has a very humble likable personality too.
I'm not a drummer but somehow gotten sucked into a drumming vortex in my youtube feed. Even From the first video of this guy that popped up on my screen, I could tell a dramatic difference between him and every other drummer, not because of all his fancy tricks but because every single sound is clean and precise. You know you are witnessing greatness when someone performs something incredibly technical and difficult yet it appears effortless and smooth. I may be showing my age, but if you've seen Gene Kelly dancing, he makes it looks as smooth and easy as walking. Siberiano is just floating in the zone making it look easy when it most certainly is not.
Not only is he technically sound but his muscle memory is incredible, he does it with his eyes closed and flips his sticks and catches them also with his eyes closed.
I'd love to hear ES' input on how much of it is muscle memory versus sheer concentration. You see a lot of youtube drummers cheesing for the camera and stuff, but he's completely zoned into the groove.
@NetVicious so yes, practice is the reason of muscle memory. He teach himself muscle memory by practice. This apply to anything you do in life including athletes

There are drummers and there is El Estepario. As a bassist i played with many drummers but he is out-worldish. Looks so effortless. But even he is so down to earth, having his idols. Definitely one of the guys i like to meet.
Super nice guy, if you watch his videos (some in spanish) he encourages everyone to chase their dreams, he says he is not especial, he is just working harder than anyone else. And yes, he admits that some of those shorts get several takes to get done, so I imagine a whole cover will be even harder
I played a trumpet for over fifteen years. Percussion always fascinated me, and I dabbled in it. Knew some people that were naturally talented. This man is so technical it’s scary. I know enough to know what I don’t know. He’s a whole other level.

In his video thanking subs for either 1 or 2 million -- I forgot which because there wasn't much time between them -- he described how his life circumstances changed. Neil and Bonham would definitely be impressed with the stick mastery. And I guarantee that they would both be in the studio working their asses off to fit it in to their music!
It's nuts how I just came across a video of his reaction to a kid playing drums to a slipnot track and this video just popped up in my recommends. This dude is a bad ass and I'm no drummer and I did pick up immediately on that extra tap. Impressive to see how he fits it in without skipping a beat. He just turned 28 just yesterday and you did pronounce his name correctly lol. 🤘🤘
This dude is totally off the charts, watched all his videos. The rim hit is easier than you stated if you have your hand off the end of the stick so your hand touches the skin not the stick during the setup.
Gets my sub just because his attitude is cool AF. So sincere and wholesome in his big single takes as opposed to millions of takes and rehersed cuts. 13:00 "like you did last time, becasue you're dicks" 😂 my fav part - what a legend
I'm a drummer by necessity (when we had two guitarists and no drummer, I slid over and picked it up). I'm happy to keep a straight rock groove with a simple fill once in a while. Still, when he slid down to turn the rim-shot into an accent note and pulled it back up into the beat, I still audibly went "bro....." It's crazy.
I'm not a drummer but air drum every day at the gym and have jammed on them a lot in my life... when I first saw that rim shot I reacted exactly like this guy
We’re all privileged to witness one of those moments in history when a musician brings something new to music unlocking further creation and creativity.
I get why the cross-sticking is an impressive moment but what blew my mind, was the way he did the hi-hat barks and then moved to keeping straight time with his left foot. Changing hand position seems so much easier in comparison to the independence it takes to switch gears like that. Idk maybe it seems like that to me because I’m a lefty that plays on a right handed kit. It’s weird for me to keep time with my dominant foot while my weaker foot plays the groove
Im a diehard iN FLAMES fan. First track i ever heard was The Quiet Place which is a gem! Cloud Connected, Trigger, Take This Life, Pinball Map, My Sweet Shadow
DUDE!!! You are sooo right... I DO feel Neil Peart, HELL any of the drumming legends that have passed, would 💯 appreciate, but more importantly, understand the hours of practice and level of commitment to be good as @El Estepario Siberiano. He is a testament to perfecting your craft.
I saw on an other reaction channel (a drum channel) that Dennis Chambers actually did praise El Estepario Siberiano. I am not that familiar with Dennis Chambers, the genres he plays are not something I listen to regularly, but I know he is one of the teachers for Drumeo and from what I understand he is a well regarded drummer that is inducted in the "Modern Drummer" hall of fame according to wikipedia. Granted El Estepario Siberiano nowadays is also part of the Drumeo family, but I am sure someone like Dennis Chambers wouldn't just say something if he didn't believe it.
Very cool reaction video. El Estepario is amazing indeed! If you’re very interested in his life’s routine, he has a video on that. Yes, it basically drums drums drums!
If you are a drummer you get how precise you have to be and so quick no sounds other than the shot no finger touch, stick rattle, didn’t even make the snare rattle!!!
He gets up at 6:30 a.m., does not have breakfast,...has a coffee,...does an hour of muscle-building exercises, etc. he starts playing for 4 hours... then he looks at his computer, answers emails, checks his social networks,... he does the tasks of the day, eats,... he records his videos,... he puts himself on the battery for another 4 hours ,.. at 9 pm he goes to bed. So every day.
Non drummer here but love the drums. Thanks for taking 3 minutes to explain what we were looking for! Lol You can hear the subtleties of the sounds but his hands are so fast that I couldn’t catch it visually until the second or third time you replayed the video! 🙌🏼
I'm not a drummer, but I love the drums. I am observant enough to catch that at the same time you did. I knew what you were about to freak out to. Again, not a drummer, but seen the difficulty in what he was doing.
May his arms never leave his body, lest the world break and shatter. This guy has created a whole new style of drumming that brings so much more to the song; gives it so much more presence and fullness; no matter the song. I look forward to a world full of drummers that play like this guy. Just wow.
Oh and he does it all with a kick drum, one snare drum and one floor. Tom, a couple of cymbals, a dumbbell weight and a cowbell just laying around. He's a fucking Alien!!!
Back in the day following Neal we called that a forward dead rim shot but you set yourself up for that you don't just throw it in the second beat of a measure. New definition of practice makes perfect right here. Love his channel he explains and teaches well.
He plays the battery like it's so easy. Anyone watching can do it, it feels like work... A person who has never had a baguette in their hands would not know how hard it is. this man of amateurs idol.profesy.respect
My favorite part about this cover is the fact that he dialed it back quite a bit, basically serving the original song with his own flavor, very respectful considering that chester left us not long ago.... he didn't do any of his typical "super busy" work..... which would have also been tasteful, I'm sure, but you can almost sense that he dialed it back and let the original song shine through.
I will die on this hill, Estepario is head and shoulders above every other drummer on the planet right now. He is changing the perception of live vs programmed drums in real time and it is a fucking privilege to be witnessing his rise.
What makes you feel he’s better than Eric Harland or Bill Stewart?
It’s true. I just saw him 2 days ago and from what I have seen he is the most talented and innovative drummer I have seen.

This dude is totally off the charts, watched all his videos. The rim hit is easier than you stated if you have your hand off the end of the stick so your hand touches the skin not the stick during the setup.
Cet homme est littéralement une machine. Un talent hors du commun !!
Your reactions, as a fellow drummer and just cool human being in general, are priceless. Subscribed.
Definitely one of the world's best. Great reaction!
Loved your reaction!
PD: Estepario Siberiano is like ‘siberian steppe’ wolf or whatever.
Exacto. Es referente a un lobo de la estepa siberiana.
His style and pattern is from another world
YES! I agree. That Rim Shot the very first time he did it... You and I had the same reaction. I stopped the video too. Amazing! Good review
These drummers reacting to El Est-whatever his name is, are the best! I get such a kick from their reactions.
I literally have rewound this, at least 15 times laughing my ass off on your reaction to the resonance cup 😂😂😂
Very cool reaction video. El Estepario is amazing indeed!
If you’re very interested in his life’s routine, he has a video on that. Yes, it basically drums drums drums!
Cool video 😎👍 Numd is a very good song, and I miss Linkin Park. Cool to see a drummer reaction, because I do some "air drumming" in my reactions.
Doing that rimshot perfectly like he did as part of the beat so quickly is insane. I freaked out over that the first time seeing this too
If you are a drummer you get how precise you have to be and so quick no sounds other than the shot no finger touch, stick rattle, didn’t even make the snare rattle!!!
NOT ONLY THAT.......the rim cup was played with a great touch !!!
@@STIXAHOY smooth as silk like that was all he had to do not 13,476 other things as well lol
@@OldSkuleNerd He did that cupped rim shot 11 times in this song, and they were all flawless. (as was the rest of the performance.)
And most of his vids are single pedal 🫣
Well Done Dude 😎 El Estepario is proud of you.
And that's why he's so good, lives on them, went through a spell with the guitar where I couldn't take it off
This guy put in the time. Paid his dues. It paid off
I’ve seen a lot from this guy, but this is probably his best. The rimshot is pure magic!
Non drummer here but love the drums.
Thanks for taking 3 minutes to explain what we were looking for! Lol
You can hear the subtleties of the sounds but his hands are so fast that I couldn’t catch it visually until the second or third time you replayed the video! 🙌🏼
I'm not a drummer, but I love the drums. I am observant enough to catch that at the same time you did. I knew what you were about to freak out to. Again, not a drummer, but seen the difficulty in what he was doing.
The dude smokes a joint and plays with one hand 😂😂my God he’s incredible and I caught what you were talking about immediately. Truly amazing ⭐️⭐️⭐️
May his arms never leave his body, lest the world break and shatter. This guy has created a whole new style of drumming that brings so much more to the song; gives it so much more presence and fullness; no matter the song. I look forward to a world full of drummers that play like this guy. Just wow.
Dude... if you’re going to react to him, you must react to his cover of Duality. Drummers drop their jaw at the 3 minute mark. Incredible.
He does it perfectly the first time every time. Bow down.
Oh and he does it all with a kick drum, one snare drum and one floor. Tom, a couple of cymbals, a dumbbell weight and a cowbell just laying around. He's a fucking Alien!!!
The best part about everything he does, is how easy he makes the most technical disciplines look so simple
05:25 you don't do it like that... the quintessence to anybody else on this planet.. Estepario is the exception to all of us!
Hahahahaha very good man. As a spanish from Madrid I give you a 9 over 10 on telling El Estepario Siberiano.
Back in the day following Neal we called that a forward dead rim shot but you set yourself up for that you don't just throw it in the second beat of a measure. New definition of practice makes perfect right here. Love his channel he explains and teaches well.
That first freak out, when you paused and started saying stuff, I was like "It's the goddamn rim shot isn't it" lol Called that!
its genius though
Best reaction. Christmas came early.
I knew you'd get it nailed down Brother... right on!!
he's going from ghost notes to rimshots and back in 16th notes at this BPM :mindblown:
He plays the battery like it's so easy. Anyone watching can do it, it feels like work... A person who has never had a baguette in their hands would not know how hard it is. this man of amateurs idol.profesy.respect
I am a big fan of this unique drummer...l have learned volumes of feel from his short spurts of genius..not to mention his fills.
The "GOAT" haven't seen anyone play like him kinda like he's a robot because he's so specific on his playing.
Your reactions to EL ESTEPARIO SIBERIANO are The best for me. I enjoy so much with your sincerely surprise….i see a chili in your eyes looking EES.
