I just changed my setup so the Audio I was not aware of being messed up, I will have it fixed for the next one. I do apologize that it’s messed up
Ive been playing drums and studying music since i was in 8th grade, now I'm 28. I just wanted to provide a little insight. This man is a robot. He takes rather simple techniques and rudiments but completely reinvents the way they are implemented and utilized in his playing style. Those single hand rolls hes doing on the floor tom during the verses are called gravity blasts. And they are not necessarily easy but with enough practice and focus, they are a popularly used tool for experienced drummers. Quick note, if you notice he actually adds a gravity blast with his left hand on the snare too at the same time hes doing a gravity blast with his right hand on the tom. His rim work is phenomenal. He also adds a sly little rim shot at the end of his double stroke rolls going into the verses. And to top it off, all of his play with syncopation is absolutely spot on. He is just an absolutely amazing drummer that practices endlessly and has so much focus and love for his craft. He deserves so much more recogniztion and respect
Thank you for mentioning the rimshot’s due to the complexity of them while drumming in “god mode”. I’ve only seen 2 other people mention them. I will actually sleep tonight. 😅😅😅
@bradcordle7743 haha I mean I was just trynna help and provide some insight if no one hadn't already. Estepario does so many intricate things that the untrained or unknowledgeable eye/ear wouldn't notice. His use of shadow taps alone is so technical
I couldn't have said it better myself. So many people aren't really grasping exactly how insanely talented he is.
that floor tom is actually a really deep snare, i guess it's tuned down.
His rim work is phenomenal........ That's what she said 😜
El Estepario is for me the best drummer to have ever lived, he is way beyond anything else, mesmerising.
Don’t forget Jo Jo Mayer, he’s a mad lad too
Technically speaking, he's the best drummer I've ever seen. Conversations can be had about feel and artistry (although I think he's amazing at that as well). Regardless, I think he's doing great things for drumming, both in terms of innovation, and also just highlighting the awesome work that drummers are putting in all the time. Any guitarist who has played with a really good drummer will be well-aware of how much more enjoyable that is.
Yes, his level isn't taught he delved into himself and earned.
I could re watch people watching him all day no lie 🤦🏽♂️
This guy is the Micheal Jordan of drummer. I can't see anybody better ever
He's self-taught, and his name is Jorge Garrido. Dropped out of his university (he tells that story) to play gig bands. When he left that, he began practicing a lot more and making videos about his progress. He then auditioned for a popular Spanish metal band, Saratoga, and became its drummer for about 3 years, I believe. His social media videos became wildly popular in 2023, so he left Saratoga on good terms to focus on building his online community. He's now the #3 most subscribed drum-focused channel on TH-cam, recently passing Casey Cooper.
Oops -- Drumeo also added subs recently, so Jorge is #3.
Ide love to see you play one and master of puppets from Metallica, I bet you would kill them both!! You are amazing
He has said he practiced 2 or 3 hours a day since a kid, once he dropped out of university he started practicing 8 hours a day like it's a full time job
@@user-wh8ls5ec6khe killed battery about a year ago, I'd love to see puppets
Grande esta info! Más reconocimiento debería tener de todo el país
El Estepario is an absolute mad lad. His limb separation is otherworldly. At the chorus he's got the double drumsticks on that cymbal, he's playing a different beat on the snares and hi-hat, got one foot on the hi-hat and another foot on the single-double bass and you could still calibrate an atomic clock on this guy. He's like an octopus with an autonomous nervous system per limb or some shit. Dude's wild.
The only people that could come close to matching his limb independence, are those one-man-street-band dudes that play 5 different instruments at once.
@@paulmichaelfreedman8334 even then, as impressive as that is, it doesn’t match this complexity. A lot of the time here he’s playing on different time with each limb.
His brain is definitly wired different that normal humans without a doubt.
this man is about to go down the same rabbit hole we all went down when we learned of Mr El Estepario Siberiano....... can't wait to follow along LOL
I'm in that rabbit hole now....😂😂
he is the #1 drummer in the world right now, he's teaching the world what it means to be a drummer by showing them how drums should be played and that they are an instrument, not just a metronom that keeps time.
The snare roll into the flat palm rim shot is talent on a level most people genuinely can't understand and he's making it look so insanely effortless. The level of precision and subtle movement you need to be able to have to pull off that move, and to do it with consistency is genuinely the most impressive thing I've ever seen a musician do. The fact that you can't hear the stick ever touch the snare until he hits the rim is WILD
He's essentially changing the way drummers approach and play their kits. Technical, original, creative, precise, clean. He's also fun AF to watch.
His independence is insane! His groove is 2nd to none, his chops are...Where do I stop? Listen to where he talks about his practice and the amount of it. Explains a lot. He's so dedicated as well as inspirational. We WILL see a new wave of drummers in the future because of this guy!! The cymbal choke you speak of will come so natural for you with practice. I always thought in my mind to attack the cymbal with the stick, keeping your index finger a bit open, and drive your hand into the cymbal pretty much. Hope that makes sense, hope it might help.
I absolutely love it when you see something so insane you make this "gross" expression, like you did each time he grabbed the stick and started playing with three.
Great reaction, I appreciate you pausing to talk about what you thought was good, rewinding to get better understanding of what you just saw and just adding a lot to the video. You caught everything he did, something many drummers that watched this failed at.
Glad you enjoyed it!
El Estepario is juat another level. He is pairing natural ability with thousands hgours of practice.
He is the GOAt from my pov
Welcome to the Groovefather! Honestly might be one of the best drummers alive. I recommend his thriller cover amongst the rest. All are awesome!
Dude has rythm independence in each limb and can play polyrythmic beats however he wants... Mind blown
Since I came across this guy last week I’ve been watching people react to him for the first time…& it’s hysterical! I feel the same way…mind blown laughter 🤪
Best drummer in the world.. best drummer ever. He’s sic
He rolls, lights and smoke the joints, WHILE playing complex songs with one hand, in some of his shorts.
Check out his "take on me" (ah ha) vids (he has 2 or 3 versions)
Dude, you should be hella proud of yourself!!! I've watched so many reactions to this exact video, and even very experienced drummers miss something (the stick flip and catch, the double pedal mechanics, the rim hits, etc.). I feel like you caught everything. Amazing reaction, dude!!!
I appreciate it!
Jorge Garrido, Valencia, Spain, played in a band called Saratoga. It's one of the most famous heavy bands in Spain.
He finally left the band to focus on his TH-cam channel, then he changed from a band drummer into a International Reference.
Now ESTEPARIOSIBERIANO it's more than a drummer or a business... he's a BRAND. Now when you think on Drums your brain draw Estepario in your mind...
Welcome to the groovefather rabbit hole. You could put out a months worth of reaction videos from him. Definitely check out his “Everybody dance now” cover, welcome to the black parade, all his one hand videos are amazing as well.
This guys chill mode is most peoples god mode. When this guy goes into god mode, I'm not sure an octopus could drum faster and cleaner.
I always look for people reacting to Jorge. He is an amazing drummer. As far as I am concerned he is the most incredible drummer I have seen in my entire 52 years. His timing is perfect, more perfect than I thought possible. He says that his playing is nothing but what happened due to practice and that it isn't talent. Welcome to the crew. You can't stop watching his videos. Check out his one handed shorts.
El Estepario Siberiano defies definition; he transcends the realm of ordinary drummers. His artistry is an enigma, a wild, untamed force that no mere mortal can replicate. He is a creature of rhythm, a master of drums whose skill knows no bounds, a mesmerizing spectacle that leaves audiences in awe. His beats echo like ancient whispers, carrying the essence of his soul and the power of his craft. He is not just a drummer; he is a primal force, a monster of drums, a pure master weaving magic with every strike, reminding us of the boundless wonders that music can create.
That is one of the best descriptions of anything I have ever heard...you should be a writer! :)
El Estepario Siberiano's cover of Blinding Lights is definitely an expose of all his technical expertise at the drums. this is the video where he does everything at once. watch his older videos and you see how this all comes together for Blinding Lights.
That’s the key, the focus to understand the hole instrument…next level of drummer!
He’s one of the best drummers I’ve ever seen. His skillset and his charisma is bar none. He puts so many special tricks into this session.
About the disassociating thing, he has uploaded some yt shorts where he plays 3 or 4 different patterns at the same time, adds 1 pattern with 1 hand, then adds another with his other hand, then adds another one with his feet, so cool
Whats crazy to me is his snare and kick are tuned so perfectly with each other that when he's dropping a kick to heel the switch on his pedal you don't miss the kick cos the snare is so snappy
His drumming is out of this eorld, but wait till you see what he does with a handpan. Hes awesome ❤
this guy is a drum god apart from all the speed and stick tricks and flash.. his ability to seperate his limb movement is effortless...
There is a video where Estapario talks about how he didn't get really good at drums until he started treating playing like it was his career. As in show up every day and practice for 8 hours as if you were being paid for it. He said that once he got into that mindset, and started to master the basics and push the limits of his abilities, he started to improve significantly. Wise words as anyone will attest that practice is vital to success. You might also notice that while he is playing he is in a full flow state, higher and lower cognitive functions focused solely on the task at hand. Which also requires a huge amount of practice, to where you don't need to think about playing. Practice, practice, practice...
By changing our very conceptions of what is possible with drums, he truly is the Jimi Hendrix of drums, period.
I love this type of reaction, its true. El is a madman and one of the best. Enjoy and I hope you review more of his content.
He practice like a bit more of 10 hours a day, he's from Spain, and he was in a band, he is just an epic drummer, u should react to his 1 hand videos man, those wild blow your mind dude
Wow man.. if you've just found this guy buckle up.. u're set for a wild ride
I would suggest you watch full version of Through the fire and flames it's truly Amazing. His skill is like none I have ever seen. He is an inspiration to us all
„Watching this guy makes we wanna get an electronic drum set and see if I can get good at it.“
This is what this shit is about ❤ so fucking awesome
Foot pedal: right heel taps right of pedal, it initiates double tap, when right heel hits left of pedal, it goes back to single.
what hes doing with his drumstick is known as a "gravity roll," its a drumming technique where a drummer uses a single drumstick to produce a rapid and continuous roll on the snare drum. It can create a unique and intense sound, often used in certain styles of music, such as drum and bass or jungle. Here's a basic explanation of how to perform a one-handed gravity roll: 1. Hold the drumstick: Grip the drumstick firmly with your dominant hand. You'll use this hand to execute the gravity roll. 2. Position the snare drum: Place the snare drum within easy reach of your dominant hand. Make sure the drumhead is properly tuned and the snare wires are engaged. 3. Start the roll: To begin the gravity roll, strike the snare drumhead with the drumstick. The stick should make contact near the center of the drumhead. 4. Use the wrist and fingers: As soon as you make the initial strike, rely on your wrist and fingers to control the rebound of the stick. Allow the stick to bounce back off the drumhead, and use your wrist and fingers to guide it. 5. Maintain a consistent motion: The key to the gravity roll is to maintain a consistent and controlled bouncing motion of the stick. Keep the stick close to the drumhead, and use your wrist and fingers to control the rebound. It should produce a rapid series of evenly spaced hits on the snare drum. 6. Practice and control: Achieving a smooth and controlled gravity roll takes practice. Start at a slow tempo and gradually increase the speed as you become more comfortable with the technique. Focus on maintaining even spacing between each stroke for a clean roll sound. It's essential to practice this technique regularly to develop the necessary control and speed. Keep in mind that it may take time to master, but with dedication and practice, you can achieve a one-handed gravity roll with precision and flair.
What he’s doing with his foot is known as Gravity Blast it is a term that is often associated with drumming techniques, particularly in the context of extreme metal music. It's a technique used by drummers to achieve very rapid and powerful drumming patterns, typically on the bass drum (kick drum). In a Gravity Blast, the drummer uses a combination of heel-toe technique and ankle motion to create a continuous stream of fast and controlled bass drum hits. This allows for sustained and rapid double bass drumming, which is a common feature in genres like death metal and grindcore. The name "Gravity Blast" comes from the idea that the drummer's foot appears to defy gravity due to the speed and precision of the bass drumming. It's a challenging technique that requires a lot of practice and coordination to master.
As for the actual pedal he is using
The Duallist Single-Double Pedal is a unique drum pedal that allows drummers to switch between a single pedal and a double pedal configuration with a single foot. Here’s how you can use it: 1. Set Up the Pedal: • Attach the Duallist Single-Double Pedal to your bass drum by securing it to the hoop or rim, similar to a regular pedal. 2. Select Your Configuration: • The Duallist pedal has a lever or mechanism that allows you to switch between single and double pedal modes. • In the single pedal mode, the pedal functions like a standard bass drum pedal, with one beater hitting the drumhead. • In the double pedal mode, the pedal transforms into a dual pedal setup, allowing you to control two beaters with a single foot.
This dude is absolute fire. Check out his other covers like the stuff he does from Imagine Dragons, to Metallica, to Dire Straights, to doing a hand pan thingy of REMs Losing my religion. By far the best drummer on the planet at the moment.
When a world class drummer is also a word class athlete.
I LOVE a El Estepario Siberiano virgin :) His one handed stuff is unbelievable.
His limb independence is on another level. I don't know if he's the best drummer in the world but he surely is the best percussionist. So clean that it makes me angry.
Lets do it!
Questo ragazzo è un miracolo. Purtroppo quanti italiani lo ignorano a differenza di altre nazionalità. Lunga vita a Jorge.❤️❤️❤️
Not only talent. If you check on what he has to say it's 1% talent and 99% practice and muscle memory. He sets a good example for people that you can achieve things by working hard. He's a treasure!
And as he explains in the start he can switch the pedal from single to double kick by hitting the lever with his heel.
He says that but….I can’t help feeling that he was born with more than his fair share of natural talent….
best reaction to estepario ever! he is unbelievable, probably , tecnically , the best right now.
O boy, you've discovered a miracle my friend. There is no coming back now, he has so much to impress you.
Welcome to the club!
Imagine being this drumkit down the pub ;)
"Yeah and then 3 sticks"
extra info on the pedal:
there's this switch on the right side of the pedal to change the pedal single mode to dual mode and vice versa,
because if you leave it in double mode, it will trigger a last hit once you release your foot off the pedal, so he drops it down to single throughout the song, to prevent the accidental rebounds to come up, then switches back when he needs the double hits again
that's what he does around 3:37 with the kicks to the right, switching from single to double hit modes
and everytime he alternates the single hit bass pattern with the double in the chorus, he switches in between single and double mode every 2 bars orso.
so he kind of has a whole extra precision movement to do with his feet in between, as well as having to find back his foot on the pedal in a reliable manner after triggering it
it's insane how he can just manually change the gears on that bitch as he's playing this stuff.... incredible
also, your sound is very muffled, i can hardly hear the hihats at all lol
Gotta watch him do Avenge Sevenfold and Slipknot one handed. Its EPIC
"Right off the rip he looks like a badass" No he IS a Badass.
Welcome to the world of the best drummer on youtube! 😅 Check out more, the Bongo song is recommended but also his short-vids.
He is so fun to watch, please react to more if you have time ! :)
"He's just tapping and making sound" LOL. Dude, have they ever heard of drums? That's... that's what they are. You smack them and they make noise.
You are the second person that has picked up on him using three drumsticks. Im not a drummer but that shit had my mind blown and ive gone on a streak on finding out which reactors noticed. Subscribed just on that alone.
welcome to El Estepario drumming world, you got me with limitless pill! He is his own pill! 😂😊 Cheers Mate!
With the dualist pedal in double bass mode, it hits once when you press and again when you release
He initiates the double bass by activating a switch in his right hand side, then reverts back to single bass via another small pedal on his left, using his heel
he is reinventing drums, beast
he's said himself that it's not talent, it's practice. He says that talent is BS. He practices 4-8 hours per day, for years. Anyone could do what he's doing here if you were to apply yourself to that degree. The problem is most people don't have that kind of drive and discipline.
My absolute congratulations. You are the first reaction I’ve seen that caught the stick pull. Most notice up front they’re in his pants but never catch him implementing them. Great eyes bro! 😂🤛
Lmao let’s go!
Haha! Your comments are 100% on point. "....... okay"
Really enjoyed your honesty and personality, keep up the videos man, I'll sub.
Absolutely amazing
The dualist pedal fires the second beater on the upstroke of the pedal, if you keep your foot down the second beater will wait until you lift your foot so it takes a lot of getting used to it is not like playing a conventional single pedal at all the timing is a lot different to get that second beater to hit at the right time
bRO I JUST NOTICED WHEN HE DID THE STICK FLIP HE CAUGHT IT WITH HIS RIGHT HAND AND USED IT TO DOUBLE TAP THE SYMBOL!!!!
He playing toxicity in handpan is just sick
I know this guy and this guy who reinvents the drums is the best in the world.😮😮😮😮
Gotta check out Chad Smith doing 30 seconds to mars! INSANE!
His limb independence is unbelievable
This is proof that drumming aliens live among us. 😂
Welcome to a drumming rabbit hole.....
There's no such thing as talent, it's all willpower. If you can spend four hours a day practicing your craft, for ten years straight, then even you can become an expert at it. Now, this guy's spent fifteen years, so... let that sink in.
He is the Drum God!
Yea the gravity blasts on the rigjt hand, double sticking 32nd notes on the 2nd hat, hes a madman. Check out his cover of Through the Fire and flames its wild
You should watch his videos where he plays with one hand lol
The only thing El is better at is being one great human.
He performs feats of impossibility.
Credit where it is due i love El Estepario and his work but your reaction is pretty awesome too i love when we key in on the small nuances and technique.
Its often disappointing to see other reactions where they dont key in on the small items but kudos to you on drawing attention to the smaller things that im sure were many hours of practice for EES.
This guy is proof that aliens walk among us. He is not of this world!
Okay hold up…. He throws the stick in the air…. Grabs another one from his waistband…. Catches the one in his other hand perfectly…. And proceeds to use two sticks to double stroke the hi hat from top to bottom. And he does this more than once in the same fucking song. That’s literally some super hero shit.
To reach this god-level of drumming, you would have to practice and play like he does, which is all day long nearly every day. Amazingly, he is still only in his late 20s. 🤯
The Groovefather is basically the chosen one.
He is from spain... and you have to see him playing with one hand.
Real hard self taught talent !
Look, underground cover of Estepario, for me is the BEST!
Hi, great reaction, to anwser your question about if he play in a band, he is actualy the former drumer of Saratoga band (is a rockband fmous here in Spain, and he left the band a few months ago and he dedicate his time to YT and do all that stuff, he is a beast, greatings from spain.
Self-taught, can’t read music, tries things till he makes the sound he needs. High amp fury with the drums. He was in a show band, full throttle TH-cam, tic tok, FB instagram now. Two million subscribers got the gold play button stolen by his government. Got merchandise on amazon. He has free drum class too. I forgot the name of the classes but he said the name in some of his teaching videos.
I could watch The Groovefather forever and a day!
El Estepario Siberiano has some videos, he shows you how to play faster and the things he dose.
You took a drink from your bottle during the craziest fill of the entire video, and as you were doing so, you paid no mind to it.
My suggestion to you for your reactions is to stay focused and don't even let yourself have the possibility of being able to distract yourself like that.
The most impressive thing in this video is the Eagles jersey.. Fly Eagles Fly on the road to victory
You should check out his hand pan covers, there not only amazing...but sound beautiful!
On the pedal there’s a switch he’s hitting to turn on double bass.
he is the Stevie Ray Vaughn of drums.. wait till you see Everybody dance now...
Best drummer ever !!!
