Wire wheels do an amazing job indeed. Years ago when I lived at home, my dad always had a wire wheel available. I sure do miss having that on the bench!

what are you thinking for that end with the chipped off pin retainer? I'd you got a stick welder try blu demon 3/32 e309l-16 rods I've been using them for years on cast stuff even on things like worn out excavator bucket teeth and it holds up real well even on "unweldable" cast stuff. could probably build it up pretty good if you're into welding
@@ted7x honestly if I can get the dynamic jaw to move smooth I’ll probably just JB weld it. There really no pressure OPENING the jaws, it’s TIGHTENING. To add, those pins seem to be there only to hold thread assembly in place. I have a TIG, MiG, and Stick welder, but would use as a last ditch effort.
Those screws are making you work for em buddy! I had no clue the jaws were held on like that! Funny they were replaceable because I cannot fathom actually ever really wearing them out.
