I would also like to switch from my Galaxy S23 Ultra to a Fold in the next few years. However, I don't want to get worse cameras (For example a macro mode or the two zoom lenses) and lose the built-in s Pen, and then also at a higher price
The camera argument is a furphy for most people. I went from an S22U to a Fold 5 and while you do initially notice some difference it's not enough to look last the incredible user experience of a folding phone
Watching on my Z Fold 6. Loved the refinement on the design & durability aspects. Sold the moment I got my hands on it on the store. It looks and feels flagship. The very reason I switched is productivity. I never have to bring my work laptop home anymore. Imagine having the ability to bring a tablet/laptop anywhere and fits your pocket.
I bought the Z Fold2 back then and was really excited about it, I loved it! But somehow, I thought I should buy an iPhone again because I also have a Mac, and everything works so well together. The moment I had the iPhone, I somehow regretted it. I missed the large screen of the Fold so much. Then I thought that I would buy another Fold after two years with the iPhone. But then came the Fold3, the Fold4, the Fold5, and every time I thought I should wait because it never really impressed me. But the Fold6 is amazing, I really like it a lot, and I'm super happy to finally hold it in my hands tomorrow. Of course, it would have been even better if it was a bit wider and had an S Pen slot, but that's just nitpicking. I think the new angular form factor makes the front display much more usable and normal than before. Overall, it's just a super beautiful and functional device. And the advantage with Samsung is that the software is perfectly adapted to the Fold, and with the S Pen, it's twice as much fun. Oh yes, I also ordered the Galaxy Ring and the Watch Ultra :)
Great content! I JUST got the 6, yesterday. Upgraded from the 3. My 3 is still in excellent condition. I just wanted the 6 because i straight slept through 4 and 5 😅
My zf6 is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow. Didn't want to run the risk of using my zf4 for another year. So i figured I'd go ahead and upgrade it. Zf6 seems much more refined, even tho I wish they did a lil more to improve things. But I'll be happy starting with a fresh new device(nothing beats the feel of a new device or tech toy lol). Excited for the new buds 3 pro also. Got those for $75 with a trade in. Skipped on the watches this year.
Great review! I am looking forward to picking up the fold6 as my first Android phone. I like how it fits nicely in my hands and pocket, but provides me with a huge screen for when I want it. I wanted to like the S24 Ultra but it felt terrible in the hand. If I am being honest, the video/pics on these phones looks bad, at least to me, however I do not buy a phone for the camera... in fact if I could save some money for a version with no camera's I would go for that.
I likely would have traded in my Note 20 for this if I hadn't already upgraded to the Galaxy S24 Ultra. The phone is stunning, but it has a few drawbacks: the price is steeper than S24Ultra (even S24 Ultra you could say was overpriced), the size should be bigger, the S-Pen integration :( , and the battery life feels subpar (S24 Ultra last 2 days minimal to moderate use). This device should have been the ultimate dream for Note users, but it falls just a bit short. I'll stick with my S24 Ultra for another four years before considering a new phone. By then, I might even explore options like OnePlus.
I didn't switch because I mainly use my phone for YT and well.. the inner screen had massive bands on bottom and top.. zo much even that I get more 'actual video' on my S24U .. so I'll wait till more width is added so the inner screen becomes more of a rectangle in the width. Or well, more like the OP Open for example.

I got my Crafted Black Fold 6 ( Fold 3, trade in ) and I am loving. Don't know if you have handled the crafted black, but the texture and grip is chef's kiss phenomenal. I am actually seriously considering going caseless. It feels that good in the hand.

I dislike having to carry my iPhone & iPad mini to do my design work. If Samsung has the apps: • Craft Docs • idea creation app akin to Free Form • Affinity Photo • a 3D pre-visualization app akin to (Shotpro or Previs Pro) I may be HIGHLY persuaded to switch. (I’ll have to check if they do)
I was just at Best Buy getting a chance to hold and use all thede devices...They are all beautiful in person. Tho im not upgrading my Flip 5, playing with the 6 definitely made me wish i was upgrading. The Fold 6 looks NICE!!! For thoses who are fans of Folds would love it. The Galaxy Ultra looks good in person. It doesn't copy Apple at all. It definitely looks like it is missing the dial like the Classic watches...i liked the look of it.
Hey dont forget to tweak your dp width in developer mode. All screens have a different dpi. I close my phone. Go into dev options and then i put 380. Then try that as an option. Ofc opening device the dpi will change. But i find 380 pretty good. Try it out. You gain a ton more space in screen. You gain so much more view
I agree, 8:51 I have the Z Fold 5 for almost a year now, and the only aspect lacking in quality compared to normal flagships is the camera. I will pass and wait for Fold 7 maybe it worth the upgrade.

I actually turned my Fold5 in for the S24U. The only thing keeping me from the Fold6 is the same cameras as well as battery as previous models. The real upgrades went to the Flip 6 which got a better camera as well as bigger battery. If I wanted a foldable this time around it would be the Flip6 not Fold6.
This review was very helpful. I have the note 10plus and was thinking about the 24 ultra or the fold because I'm also a digital artist so I need the pen. It's really good to know the battery life and camera are good because I've been hanging on to an iPhone for my photos this will definitely help thanks.
@@MrTagoe-xw8yg it seems to be region based, not all regions have it as it's a legislative / regulation thing that needs to be tested thoroughly before the feature is enabled in the region, I suppose because if it's highly inaccurate people would start going to the doctor saying their measurements are XYZ.

8:12 - If the external screen was wide enough on the front that you didn't need to use the inside screen like you state, then wouldn't that defy the whole point of having a foldable phone with a huge screen inside in the first place? You buy it to open up and use it, no? Or else what's the point of having one? That's what slab phones are for. I personally think Samsung has nailed the concept - an outer display big enough to use, but a much bigger inside display which is where you actually get the main benefit of the form factor.
I disagree. The external screen should serve the purpose of full usability. I can type with two hands on it and the aspect ratio is still oof. I like to say I use external for work and internal for play like a tablet. Internal nails it, while. External still has some ways to go
@@alexstruenorth this is what I feel reviewers who don't daily drive these devices don't understand. This is Samsung's concept - they've decided to keep things this way for a reason rather than just make a normal sized phone that also folds like others have. They want you to use that inner display they've spent so much money bringing to the tech world. That's why it has stylus support, a camera hidden away and so many software enhancements like multitasking etc.
@@alexstruenorth 100% agree. I moved from the S22U to the Fold 4 as it was just uncomfortable to use with one hand, and even with 2 hands over long periods digging into your palm. Haven't looked back since then and have F5, soon to be F6. The S21U was peak ultra in my opinion.

I hope they have the next ultra watch in white and with a rotating bezel. It wasn't worth trading in my Watch 5 Pro(which is still my fav Galaxy Watch overall) or Watch 6 classic(rotating bezel). Since my W5P is titanium color and W6Classic is the black one, i would really want a white or maybe even blue Ultra 2 with rotating bezel. :)
The most ridiculous thing is in EU the S24 Ultra 1TB cost like 1399,- euro and if you want the Z Fold 6 1TB it's another grand!! I can't wait for the Honor Magic V3 or the next One Plus Open!
Samsung missed the boat with the new Fold 6, compared with rivals especially with the cameras, battery size, and no internal S-pen storage for the price. Add the fact the Fold series is less durable! I admit to be not a fan, preferring my trusty S23 Ultra. So you stayed in Bromley Borough. The proper name of the castle is Tower of London. I Google when it was built, and the White Tower was 1078, then other parts added later. The items you reviewed, the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro and the Galaxy watch, are okay, but I have enough earphones/headphones including Buds+/Live/ 2 Pro, and some air conducting headphones for cycling. I prefer my Garmin watches that have huge battery life of days and weeks between charging. The next Fold needs to have at least better cameras and case with S-pen thrown in for free at the price.

Granted I still have my old iPhone around but I barely use it, it's there just in case I have files on it that's important. I don't understand what people are talking about if you have the four or older it is an upgrade they forget you didn't get a 50 ml camera on the older ones and the screen was not as bright and the phone was much thicker you can't talk about last year you're not supposed to be upgrading every year remember

They claim they gonna come out with a Z Fold 6 ULTRA in October! It supposed to be thinner & bigger with a better camera, but it might not support the S-Pen.
It's lighter? It's actually heavier than the s24 ultra. So, im not sure why you're saying it's lighter. I preordered the z fold 6 and currently have the s24 ultra. I am excited to switch. But, it's not lighter.

I had the Apple Watch Ultra. I'm getting the Galaxy Watch Ultra and I can see so many similarities it's undeniable. Not just the design but most of its exclusive features.
The watch is just ugly. Reminds me of a pizza, circle in a square. Plus it's the same screen size as the reg watch 7 with no real super major must have features. Hard pass
I only had my Z Fold 6 for only two days and Im trading it in for an S24 Ultra. The inner screen is too fragile for my liking and I don't want to have to baby my phone. Also the camera doesn't compare to my S22 Ultra that I previously had. Too much glare in the sun and doesn't feel as durable as the S Ultra. The hype went away quick for me. I'll wait for them to really give it an upgrade. For the price it just isn't worth it.
I never agree with the idea, that you want the outer screen bigger so you dont have to use the inner screen, when using the inner screen is literally the point of having a Fold to begin with. The outer screen is supposed to be smaller, so you open the phone and use it as intended. If you want a bigger front screen, get a S24+ or Ultra.
Do you actually use the cameras enough to even care if they are not top of the line. When is the last time you actually took a picture. And when people look at your photos are they actually coming to you and saying, "Omg, I can tell right away you used a cheap ass galaxy fold camera". Come on people.
@@AM-wi6zo if they used S24 ULTRA cameras the price would even be higher. The price is that high because of the foldable parts, and Qualcomm increased the price on their processors, and since Samsung processors are garbage, that's just gonna be the price of a foldable.
If only it had a better form factor. Honor magic is 20% thinner with 5000mah+ battery, 66 watts VS Samsung 25 watts charging and the honor has an actual usable front display. Using the Z fold 6 to write this comment and the front display format is still bs
Chinese foldable's are definitely 2 steps ahead when it comes to the hardware and design... But Samsungs UI is still Leaps and bounds ahead of all of them that's what separate Samsung to all foldable's...

I need someone to do a video of the camera settings that I need to change. Bc the default settings for my fold 3, 4 , and 5 never looked as good as other photos 😂 And now that I have the 6 on the way I'd love to fix that
Samsung missed hard by not finally making the cover screen S Pen compatible. They could also make DeX work on the inner display without needing an external monitor (just like a Tab) with a simple line of code. Just buy a discounted Fold 5 and show Samsung they don't deserve money from the Fold 6.
Until they fix camera software, none of the Samsung flagships is worth mentioning. Shutter lag, weird color grading, videos that change brightness/saturation all of a sudden (some can be seen in this video...) - it's just pure mess.

I love this phone! Samsung got me on this one. It's perfect for me. Camera is great, size is perfect

People want a 20:9 front screen. It is normal, that we won’t get a 16:9 inner screen this way. My wet dream: 24:9 6.7 inch outer screen foldable. 😅

The Flip6 actually is an upgrade from your Flip5. The Fold6 isn't an upgrade from the previous models
the galaxy auto tracking feature is really cool and i imagine bloggers would put it to good use

8:12 - If the external screen was wide enough on the front that you didn't need to use the inside screen like you state, then wouldn't that defy the whole point of having a foldable phone with a huge screen inside in the first place? You buy it to open up and use it, no? Or else what's the point of having one? That's what slab phones are for.
I personally think Samsung has nailed the concept - an outer display big enough to use, but a much bigger inside display which is where you actually get the main benefit of the form factor.
I disagree. The external screen should serve the purpose of full usability. I can type with two hands on it and the aspect ratio is still oof. I like to say I use external for work and internal for play like a tablet. Internal nails it, while. External still has some ways to go

@@alexstruenorth this is what I feel reviewers who don't daily drive these devices don't understand. This is Samsung's concept - they've decided to keep things this way for a reason rather than just make a normal sized phone that also folds like others have.
They want you to use that inner display they've spent so much money bringing to the tech world. That's why it has stylus support, a camera hidden away and so many software enhancements like multitasking etc.

@@alexstruenorth 100% agree. I moved from the S22U to the Fold 4 as it was just uncomfortable to use with one hand, and even with 2 hands over long periods digging into your palm. Haven't looked back since then and have F5, soon to be F6. The S21U was peak ultra in my opinion.

I hope they have the next ultra watch in white and with a rotating bezel. It wasn't worth trading in my Watch 5 Pro(which is still my fav Galaxy Watch overall) or Watch 6 classic(rotating bezel). Since my W5P is titanium color and W6Classic is the black one, i would really want a white or maybe even blue Ultra 2 with rotating bezel. :)
The most ridiculous thing is in EU the S24 Ultra 1TB cost like
1399,- euro and if you want the Z Fold 6 1TB it's another grand!!

Samsung missed the boat with the new Fold 6, compared with rivals especially with the cameras, battery size, and no internal S-pen storage for the price. Add the fact the Fold series is less durable! I admit to be not a fan, preferring my trusty S23 Ultra. So you stayed in Bromley Borough. The proper name of the castle is Tower of London. I Google when it was built, and the White Tower was 1078, then other parts added later. The items you reviewed, the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro and the Galaxy watch, are okay, but I have enough earphones/headphones including Buds+/Live/ 2 Pro, and some air conducting headphones for cycling. I prefer my Garmin watches that have huge battery life of days and weeks between charging.
The next Fold needs to have at least better cameras and case with S-pen thrown in for free at the price.

I don't understand what people are talking about if you have the four or older it is an upgrade they forget you didn't get a 50 ml camera on the older ones and the screen was not as bright and the phone was much thicker you can't talk about last year you're not supposed to be upgrading every year remember

They claim they gonna come out with a Z Fold 6 ULTRA in October! It supposed to be thinner & bigger with a better camera, but it might not support the S-Pen.

I had the Apple Watch Ultra. I'm getting the Galaxy Watch Ultra and I can see so many similarities it's undeniable. Not just the design but most of its exclusive features.
The watch is just ugly. Reminds me of a pizza, circle in a square. Plus it's the same screen size as the reg watch 7 with no real super major must have features. Hard pass

I only had my Z Fold 6 for only two days and Im trading it in for an S24 Ultra. The inner screen is too fragile for my liking and I don't want to have to baby my phone. Also the camera doesn't compare to my S22 Ultra that I previously had. Too much glare in the sun and doesn't feel as durable as the S Ultra. The hype went away quick for me. I'll wait for them to really give it an upgrade. For the price it just isn't worth it.
This watch must have a blood pressure monitor as the watch 6 classic does and cant see Samsung dropping it on an Ultra watch?

I never agree with the idea, that you want the outer screen bigger so you dont have to use the inner screen, when using the inner screen is literally the point of having a Fold to begin with. The outer screen is supposed to be smaller, so you open the phone and use it as intended. If you want a bigger front screen, get a S24+ or Ultra.
The inner screen i use more like a tablet. so viewing content and gaming. Out screen is work and I have bigger hands its hard to use a keyboard
For the price the cameras are not good enough no where near flagship level, other foldables are adding bigger and better sensors especially the zoom.
Do you actually use the cameras enough to even care if they are not top of the line. When is the last time you actually took a picture. And when people look at your photos are they actually coming to you and saying, "Omg, I can tell right away you used a cheap ass galaxy fold camera". Come on people.
Unless you're a professional photographer, the cameras are fine.....BUT... for the price I get what you're saying

If only it had a better form factor. Honor magic is 20% thinner with 5000mah+ battery, 66 watts VS Samsung 25 watts charging and the honor has an actual usable front display. Using the Z fold 6 to write this comment and the front display format is still bs
Chinese foldable's are definitely 2 steps ahead when it comes to the hardware and design...
But Samsungs UI is still Leaps and bounds ahead of all of them that's what separate Samsung to all foldable's...

Samsung missed hard by not finally making the cover screen S Pen compatible. They could also make DeX work on the inner display without needing an external monitor (just like a Tab) with a simple line of code.
Just buy a discounted Fold 5 and show Samsung they don't deserve money from the Fold 6.

I get why people buy them but I can't do it. I've seen about 10 in my life and at least 6 of them were broken!
Until they fix camera software, none of the Samsung flagships is worth mentioning. Shutter lag, weird color grading, videos that change brightness/saturation all of a sudden (some can be seen in this video...) - it's just pure mess.
Give it a S-pen and I will consider it. ☺️
