I could only find the whole unit. It comes with a bypass cap in case you don't want to use the filter: amzn.to/3ZdOuEI (ensure it will fit the fridge) -- you can also see how to replace it here: th-cam.com/video/JouGgn7vZ80/w-d-xo.html
This model does not have a serviceable air filter that I am aware of. Check your model number on Whirlpool's website to verify if yours has one: www.whirlpool.com/services/manuals.html
Do you know how to reset just the "order filter" alarm? Not time to change the filter yet, but it keeps beeping to order new filters and I want to turn off just that setting
I've done this a bunch of times. This time it's leaking where the filter connects to the assembly. I can't remember if it's supposed to snap in when I turn it or not. Any ideas?
It just rotates in but I’m guess there’s an oring that seals the connection between the two so I’d check to see if there is a oring on the fridge or inside the filter. I’ll check when I get home too.
@@learnsavediyI replaced the filter with the bypass plug to make sure the issue wasn't the fridge. No leaks. I ordered two new filters to see if that fixed the issue. There aren't any O-rings on these filters, just on the fridge. .
Very odd. You can turn off the water to the house or move the fridge out to shut off the supply to the fridge. If you shut off the main, drain some of the water out at a nearby faucet so less water will come out of the filter housing. Shutting off the water is your best bet.
If only I could get the original installation filter off. They must have glued it. I'm ready to take a sledgehammer to it and I just bought top-of-the-line 1 year ago.
Select 4 cup preset water amount, set quart jar in area then you won’t need to stand there pushing glass in to fill. Empty repeat about 8 times to get clear water.
This filter system is a bad design. The water tubes connected to the filter mount will eventually leak from changing filters. The manufacture will blame the filter, but the leak is not between the filter, and mount, but rather the mount itself.
I have been dreading changing our water filter for this model. After watching this video, I replaced ours. It was very easy thanks to this tutorial.
Glad it helped!

Same problem here. The cartridge just won’t turn to the left. I’m afraid to force it.
Same here. It does not want to turn to the left at all.

My water is coming like white now after change it 🤣
My fridge is missing the blue piece to connect the filter to. Do you know if that is something I can order?

Thank you… nice and easy
Great 👍
Thanks!
Changed the filter and is coming out like not clear looking kinda white😮
Might need to cycle your filter out more with water. Is it getting any cleaner the more you use the dispenser?
Is it white when it first comes out and then turns clear as it sits? If so that's just trapped air and normal right after changing the filter.
@@learnsavediy pour more water to conduct the cycle

Does label need to be up Or does it matter?
It doesn’t matter

Water started spraying non stop when i removed the old filter off. Anyway to prevent that?

You can try the filter strap wrench I show to give you a bit more leverage.
Ty for this video

Good tip, thank you!
Do you have a video of why after changing the water stopped dispensing water?
I don’t. Are you sure you removed the cover over the top of the filter? Sometimes they have plugs or covers that can prevent water flow.
Instructions says to cycle 4 gallons of water before use.
Make sure you turn off the water to the fridge prior 💦💧🌊
Better safe than sorry!

They don’t make them like they used to
