Worked perfectly using the same brand filter OEM which came with the fridge. Prior to starting, cleared top shelf of items and placed towel on shelf to catch any drips. Hadn’t changed filter in 3 years (my bad) but the old came out smoothly. I didn’t pull old one until I had a new one ready.
Hello I had the same problem whereby the water pressure kept pushing it out. I figured out that we first need to empty the filter (water) completely and it worked.. hope this helps..
Had issues with water pressure as well. Spoke with Bosch Customer Service. Tech had me turn the water off to the refrigerator first, turn off the refrigerator second. Replace water filter and make sure fit is snug. Turn refrigerator back on as well as water. Run water for 3 gallons or 5 minutes from inside of refrigerator (will make some noise at first). Also throw away first batch of ice as well after replacing filter. Hopes this helps someone.
Hey Everyone! I was going through the same issue with the water pressure not letting me lock the new filter in place. Came here for answers, but found none. Called up Bosch and they told me that applying olive oil to the ridges of the new filter would help lock it in place against the pressure. Thought it would not work, but it went in super easy. I have water again, Amen. Give it a shot
Ummm ... Aren't you supposed to run water through it for a while before letting people drink from it? And turn off the ice maker before starting, for the same reason?
But what if the pressure is too great to get the new filter in? It absolutely will not go in and lock, the water shoots it out. I have the exact same filter that came out. I can’t get to the water valve to turn off the water temporarily. What can I do?
took the filter off today and water squirted everyone. probably should have shut the water off (didn't last time and had no issues). The spring loaded valve blew out and won't sit in anymore where the head of the filter sits. a whole new filter housing is needed according to parts diagram. total joke on Bosch. ABT help counter was great help though today
@Lidiakhury1 It may make a little noise when you first start running water through it as the filter gets saturated. But if it's just randomly making noise, it may be something different. You can try removing it and reinstalling it. Sometimes it just doesn't seal properly the first time, and redoing it can help. If the filter was purchased from Abt and you're still having trouble please give us a call at 800-860-3736.
@Bkgoodman11 On most models there will be a button to press and hold to reset the filter light. It depends on which model you have. If you purchased your refrigerator from Abt please give us a call at 800-860-3736 and we can look it up for you and let you know the exact process. Yes, run water. No need to turn off icemaker.
