    Hi Amy! If the loose stitches from your Kuutar top provisional cast on end up still bothering you, I have a suggestion:
    Work from the side furthest from the tail and manually tighten each stitch to the tension you want. When you get to the end, you'll have a bit of accumulated yarn. Since you followed the knitty tutorial, you should have a slipknot on the tail side you can unpick and then pull the accumulated length through before weaving in the end as you usually would. You could duplicate stitch over the unpicked slipknot stitch if you feel you need to for security.

    Knit with Kim and Jonna Podcast had a catch up with Jonna and she recommended your podcast. I hope that pushes your viewers to over 10,000. You are so nice to watch. I left a comment stating how well you describe and show your knitwear. It was wonderful that you knit your sister the Las Vegas tank. I watched the process and she looks pretty in her new tank.

    I’m just finishing my Kuutar and realized that it will fit best with no strap length. I’m putting in life lines and will see how it looks. I hope you like yours after all the problems. The 100%linen I used is my favourite fabric, drapey and comfortable. After washing it shrunk and was not a nice texture so don’t panic.

    I am definitely motivated to knit a No. 5 after hearing your experience! And I am definitely with you about waiting until other people make something before deciding if it will work for me. I am behind on all the trends. Lots of love from the Pacific Northwest 🧡

    I am so pleased TH-cam recommended you. So much of what you are knitting is either something I have knit (just finished the Audrey Top) or in my queue (Kuutar Top). You have also inspired me to make the Camisole Number 5 with the Knitting for Olive Cotton Merino I have in my stash. I wasnt sure how i would feel about the extreme racer back style but it looks great on you and looks like it has good stretch. Thanks so much for sharing your makes. You are very concise, giving just the right amount of detail and information and patterns, yarn and your knitting experience. Thanks again and I am looking forward to watching more of your future videos (and taking a look at your previous episodes as well).

    Hi Amy, love your new #5! I have a linen tip. I got this from Tracy of The Grocery Girls. She recommend washing her linen garment in the washing machine on delicate. Then put it in the dryer on delicate. I know it sounds scary. I had a top made from Shibui linen. I had it a few years and it was so stretched out. So with nothing to lose. I did threw it in the washer and dryer. It turned out beautiful! In fact it looks store bought. It was like the fabric was shining bright and happy. Since you are in the process. If you have enough yarn left over. Knit up a swatch. So you can wash it up and see what happens. I did keep a good eye on the dryer and took it out lightly damp.

    • @neknits
      @neknits  ปีที่แล้ว

      oo I might just try that with my swatch!

    As always, a pleasure to watch your video and see your gorgeous makes! The loose stitches which bother you are VERY difficult to see. I had to literally zero in on them, and, in all honesty, to me they look normal. My stitches are nowhere near as beautiful and even as yours. That could be because I have less talent, less experience or less patience to re-do things than you do. I still take tremendous joy and pride in my knitting. Please, be kind to yourself! The overall result of your Kuutar top is simply beautiful! Don’t let your perfectionism take any of your joy away in what you spent many happy hours creating. Take pride in all you do and learn from any mistakes. And maybe some of the suggestions in the comments will help! Anyway, great episode, beautiful tops, dreamy yarn…. Yay, you!!🎉

    I love the camisoles you're making and the color of the one you're wearing is awesome! I used to wear tanks and sleeveless shells all the time during summer, now that I'm older and not so eager to show off my arms I'm more into sleeves. But I love the way sleeveless tops look. You are an amazing knitter. Also your struggles with fit are resonating with me. I think I'm knitting the first sweater ever, that will fit correctly. Nothing before this has fit the way I hoped. Liking what you knit is a huge accomplishment!

I’m also itching to cast on a warm winter blanket called Quinn’s Quilt with Reno Rafter 7 yarn, a local yarn for me. Now I see I also need some Bunny Rump yarn😍Happy knitting 🧶 ❤

    For getting candle wax out of any fabric: I was taught by my mom, who learned from her mom; you take some absorbant material like paper coffee filters a couple of sheets on each aide of the fabric where the spot is and then melt the wax with your iron (no steam). You might need to repeat the process a couple of times depending on the amount of wax.
    If there's any greasy/fatty stain left after the wax is gone, tou can put a few drops of colourless dishwash soap (for hand washing) or pure glycerin directly on the stain, put in plastic bag and leave for twelve hours before rinsing out at washing according to the fabric requirements.
    The process have never failed me and haven't ruined anything by doing it.

    I LOVE your cami no. 5! It looks amazing 😍 I used KFO Cotton Merino for my Twist Loop Top by Otherloops and, indeed, it stretched out a bit especially around the underarms. I solved the issue inserting some elastics through the icord edges and I think you could easily do the same in the double knitted bands. Thought it could be helpful in case your cami will stretch out too, but let's hope it doesn't happen 🤞🤞

    Hey! As a rookie knitter I really can't see many of the mistakes in the kuutar top. I could see once you pointed them out. I think it just gives that handmade vibe..and still looks great!

    Have you considered do a mattress stitch to sew under the arms to make that area shorter? It might not look super great but you can slowly decrease the angle by pleating wide and going in if you need to.

    I finished frogging my cardigan whilst catching up on your podcasts. 💪 You have some great projects and ideas. I'm finishing up my summer knits too, but I did pull out some yarn and needles for a colourwork hat pattern yesterday. I think I should hide it from myself. 🤣

    I’m making the Weythia tee with sparrow. It’s not the easiest yarn to work with but hopefully once the project is finished it will wear well! My biggest annoyance is how splitty it is and the lack of wool content is never forgiving

    Yarn you bought from local yarn shop usually should allow return if not opened. You might consider that idea in regard to yarn purchases.

    I love your Camisole #5. It looks great on you and the color is very pretty.

    • @neknits

    Hi Amy! I agree with everyone else, your cami #5 looks amazing on you - that blue is gorgeous. I have a question (if its not too personal): what do you do about a bra for a top like the cami #5? I really want to make one, or a Twisted Loop Top but they both have the racer back style and I’m not sure what to do about a bra - do I get a strapless, do I go without, or should I get a racer back style bra? 🤷🏼‍♀️ Thanks, Brenda

    • @neknits
      @neknits  ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question! I own a strapless bra that I wear with these types of tops. The cami no. 5 comes in too narrow to wear a racerback with (or at least the ones I have!) but the twist loop top might be ok with racerback straps since it's wider!

      Suri will similarly be warm like mohair. I don't know exactly which is warmer, but they both are on the warmer end of fibers!

    Sari has a bigger frame than you that’s why the under arm was low. Try on at every stage. Unless a designer has your exact frame patterns will not fit well.
