Very nice tutorial and very well done! Easy to follow and I like how you explained what each effect/parameters do when adjusting them in the effects panel. I'm making a digital Christmas card and need a snowfall effect and this was the perfect tutorial. Keep up the good work!!
I noticed your final clip seems to have a depth of field effect for close up snow. Did you use a camera lens blur effect with depth map, or just a second layer that was closer with a blur effect?
Great but I would put the tree on left ( blended tree or tree branches) as a first layer because you can clearly see that it’s very near so wouldn’t make sense the snow in front of it judging by size of it. Overall very good video 👍
After creating my snowflake, I returned to the CC Particle World comp and I lost my particles. I scrub back and forth and I see nothing now. What did I do wrong? I followed each step but didn't get the same result. I redid the particle layer and as soon as I selected "Textured Faded Disc" from the "Particle Type" menu, the particles disappeared.
Hi! It sounds like the particles might have disappeared due to a settings issue. Double-check the "Texture Layer" setting in the CC Particle World effect. Make sure it's linked to the correct snowflake layer. Also, verify the "Opacity Map" and "Birth Rate" settings-sometimes these can cause the particles to vanish unexpectedly. Cheers!
@@envatotuts Once I selected my snowflake composition, BOOM-everything was back and looking fine. Thanks for your fast response. I really prefer this effect to CC_Snowfall. A little bit of extra prep, but way more natural in appearance.
Best snow fall tutorial out there, glad I found this before finishing my project!
