@@manjudevi9542 Yes! Or you can do both backgrounds and animation on Clip Studio Paint. Adobe Animate is more geared towards Cutout animation with a 'flash' style to it. While CSP is for Frame-by-frame animation like the one in this video. But you can use Animate for that too if you want, its just a bit limited in terms of drawing tools

In making a cinematic movie bar, don't add black bars manually, leave the composition at just 1920×800 cuz for you tube videos, when the quality dropped, the black bar becomes blurry due to compression but its okay...I think.
Hard agree! 👍 Its what I do with my short films and youtube actually resizes the screen better when there are no bars since it has more space (when going into theatre mode) BUT the bars disappear. So if you really really really want the bars the be there always, for the look and feel, its better to add them, otherwise just crop the final export like Zipity says!

This is actually so helpful I’m trying to transition from alight motion on my iPad to after effects and actually some of these tips translate pretty well to alight motion!!!
I went through the entire Russian community in search of such information, I did not find anything. I came across your video, it gave me more than everything that was in my native language.
As a Latino that had to learn English to study these things, I totally understand! Thankfully TH-cam is giving us multi-language tracks for the videos, and in the near future I am sure A.I will allow us to dub the audio to other languages so more people can experience them in their native language! Wow! That's very helpful! I'm a student at a magnet school in a military town, and I'm taking animation there, and this is a cool way to composite animations without being too flat. I honestly love the anime style of compositing, and I also apply some old school animation terms like DX (Double exposure) which gives a translucent appearance, and Backlighting which is useful for glows and other things.
Go for it!! That sounds so so cool! I wish I could've included more things like that, but the video was already pretty long as it is. But can't wait to see what you'll create using those techniques!

After Effects has always been kind of frustrating to me as I was going in blind and the workflow for AE being different from other Adobe programs felt pretty unintuitive, hopefully this will let me work with less stress when I need to pick it back up. OH! So that's why it now has a drop down menu with all the layers I'm still happy I recorded like I did since most people take a lot of time to upgrade Adobe products, but its good to know. Thank you for bringing this up!
I like CSP a lot but the main issue I have with animating in it is its timeline. Often I like to reuse previous frames or when creating a new frame I like to start with a prior frame and edit it. The issue with CSP is whenever copy pasting a frame CSP just duplicates it and editing the frame effects all the prior frames. For example my timeline is: 1 2 3 4 5 _ and for frame 6 I want frame 4 but slightly changed. The timeline is now: 1 2 3 4 5 4 and whatever i do to frame "4" effects every frame "4" instead of 1 2 3 4 5 6 and treating 6 like it is its own independent frame. I can fix this with CTRL c CTRL v but this is tedious because now the timeline is 1 2 3 4 5 _ and the layer panel contains 1, 2, 3,4, 5, 4a, so I can assign "_" to be 4a and rename it as 6. That is a lot of annoying effort CSP is making me deal with instead of allowing me to normally just copy paste. I was wondering if anyone knew if there was something i could do to change this in settings? also csp is not too big a fan of scrubbing the timeline, making it slow and stutter.
Cool tutorial! Actually you don't need to duplicate the layer to mask. Just reactivate the layer and good to go. You only need to deactivate when you're using it as a luma matte instead of an alpha matte with some effects to change the color. The current version of After effects allows you to use the same mask layer to multiple layers. It doesn't considers the layer position anymore. Just use the new spiral selector next to the track matte dropdown menu.
sorry to bother, but can you explain more in detail ? What you mean is that, we don't need to do a ctrl+D copy of the thing we want to darken, everytime we make a new solid+mask, is that right ?
@@MrDaiohAzu For sure! I was talking about what happens on 11:52. He duplicated the layer, put above the other and used it as mask. It was necessary in the older versions of After Effects. Now (in the version of the video too) you can just link the layer without duplicating it. You also don't need to move above

Yeah I debated on doing that. In the end I was hoping that being able to look at the chapters allowed them to know what I would cover without having to add an extra minute at the start. This is actually so helpful I’m trying to transition from alight motion on my iPad to after effects and actually some of these tips translate pretty well to alight motion!!!

I went through the entire Russian community in search of such information, I did not find anything. I came across your video, it gave me more than everything that was in my native language.
As a Latino that had to learn English to study these things, I totally understand! Thankfully TH-cam is giving us multi-language tracks for the videos, and in the near future I am sure A.I will allow us to dub the audio to other languages so more people can experience them in their native language!

Wow! That's very helpful! I'm a student at a magnet school in a military town, and I'm taking animation there, and this is a cool way to composite animations without being too flat. I honestly love the anime style of compositing, and I also apply some old school animation terms like DX (Double exposure) which gives a translucent appearance, and Backlighting which is useful for glows and other things.
Go for it!! That sounds so so cool! I wish I could've included more things like that, but the video was already pretty long as it is.
But can't wait to see what you'll create using those techniques!

After Effects has always been kind of frustrating to me as I was going in blind and the workflow for AE being different from other Adobe programs felt pretty unintuitive, hopefully this will let me work with less stress when I need to pick it back up. Also I have to say your work looks great, I’ll have to check out the rest of your channel after this!

In after effects cc23 you dont need to duplicate de layer anymore, it selects any layer in the composition to set matte! also, thanks for the video
OH! So that's why it now has a drop down menu with all the layers I'm still happy I recorded like I did since most people take a lot of time to upgrade Adobe products, but its good to know. Thank you for bringing this up!
I like CSP a lot but the main issue I have with animating in it is its timeline.
Often I like to reuse previous frames or when creating a new frame I like to start with a prior frame and edit it. The issue with CSP is whenever copy pasting a frame CSP just duplicates it and editing the frame effects all the prior frames. For example my timeline is: 1 2 3 4 5 _ and for frame 6 I want frame 4 but slightly changed. The timeline is now: 1 2 3 4 5 4 and whatever i do to frame "4" effects every frame "4" instead of 1 2 3 4 5 6 and treating 6 like it is its own independent frame. I can fix this with CTRL c CTRL v but this is tedious because now the timeline is 1 2 3 4 5 _ and the layer panel contains 1, 2, 3,4, 5, 4a, so I can assign "_" to be 4a and rename it as 6. That is a lot of annoying effort CSP is making me deal with instead of allowing me to normally just copy paste.
I was wondering if anyone knew if there was something i could do to change this in settings?
also csp is not too big a fan of scrubbing the timeline, making it slow and stutter.

Actually you don't need to duplicate the layer to mask. Just reactivate the layer and good to go.
You only need to deactivate when you're using it as a luma matte instead of an alpha matte with some effects to change the color.
The current version of After effects allows you to use the same mask layer to multiple layers. It doesn't considers the layer position anymore. Just use the new spiral selector next to the track matte dropdown menu.
sorry to bother, but can you explain more in detail ? What you mean is that, we don't need to do a ctrl+D copy of the thing we want to darken, everytime we make a new solid+mask, is that right ?
@@MrDaiohAzu For sure! I was talking about what happens on 11:52. He duplicated the layer, put above the other and used it as mask. It was necessary in the older versions of After Effects. Now (in the version of the video too) you can just link the layer without duplicating it. You also don't need to move above

Very good post production tutorial. I watched until the end. I thought you should mention all the topics at the beginning too. So that people know what they got after this long tutorial at start and watch until the end.
Yeah I debated on doing that. In the end I was hoping that being able to look at the chapters allowed them to know what I would cover without having to add an extra minute at the start.
