Huge tip that really helped my baby have a pleasant bathing experience with no crying since day 1!! Once you put you baby in the bath, immediately place a handtowel soaked in the warm bath water over the baby so that she remains warm and comfy. My baby's face scrunched up and was ready to let out a big cry the second she was placed in the bath but as soon as the warm handtowel went over her chest she calmed down and I've been doing it ever since :) Hope it helps!!
The umbilical cord is a bit much in this video. Usually you don't want to wet the umbilical cord. It will just delay the drying of it so it can fall off on its own. I am doing cloth baths until the cord can dry and fall off on its own. It is a very simple procedure. the head portion of this video I do agree with. Cotton balls or soft rag works great.
I was so afraid on how best to handle the umbilical cord. But at the end I decided to stick with what I was told in the hospital...allow it fall on it's own. I was excited I adhered to that. My babys own fell off on the 11th day.and it looked healthy and clean. I still left it to heal on it's own.
When I was a teen's..I saw my sister bathing my niece like this..that's why I thought to my self ,that that was the proper bathing of the baby..but when I got married I was shock when I saw my sister in law bathing my baby like an ordinary bathing like an adult😔and told me that that was the proper and how bathe her babies when they are still a baby..so now, since I know that this is really the proper bathing of the baby..I will apply it to my baby..I am now 4 months old pregnant..after 11 years..😊thanks to God🙏for this blessing...
She said a daily bath for your newborn is essential👀 um no they don’t need to shower that often every other day is more than enough. It’s not like your newborn is playing in dirt or sweating all day.
This video is made by a hospital in Singapore supposedly for the local audience. The average weather in Singapore is very warm and humid. One can just stand or sit, doing nothing, and just perspire a lot. This causes heat rashes or eczema for some people. So it might make sense to bathe the baby daily, using appropriate products for cleansing and moisturising, if living in Singapore …. unless the aircon is switched on 24/7 😅
:) after a long day pissing and pooping in diapers, babies deserve to have a warm nice bath. It’s about the essential hygiene for newborns and i would do it everyday to bond more with my baby.
In My homecountry (Brazil) they say you can submerge the baby body’s even with the cord, but after is done you have to dry it very well and apply 70% alcohol in a cotton swab and it will dry it and makes it drop easily.
Children are God's form and blessings on earth. May every child have a healthy, joyful, glorified and fun-filled family and friends around to feel love and care. May there be an exchange of happiness and innocent bubbly energy all around the place wherever they are!!
My understanding is that you do not get the cord wet. So you would need to do a sponge bath until then. And allow the cord to stay dry and fall off on its own. Then the baby will be ready for submersion baths.
I am expecting right now and watching this makes me feel a little anxious, only bc baby looks so fragile and you don’t wanna hurt him or do something wrong☺️ but I know my husband and I can do it 👍😄 great video!! Thank you
I wish you the best. I don't have children of my own and none on the way, now. However, I am a little nervous about bathing a baby or any child for that matter. Because I don't want to do anything wrong. It's important to learn how to do it right.
I am a mom of two and am always worried about newborn baths haha but daily bathing is not essential or even recommended by many professionals (dries out the skin). Since you commented this 4 months ago though I’m sure you’re a pro by now!
I was only copy and pasting my own comment of experience so don't mind: You know, honestly, as an 18 year old happy mother, I'm relieved and a lil bit disappointed that going through that whole thing this year may 1st was nothing next to painful. Serious speaking, here's a secret: drink a bottle of vodka before conceiving, smoke weed, eat practically anything, avoid the stupid hospital, walk alot, be happy and most of all, make sure NOT TO POISON your baby with those drugs called medicines. Its funny. Because of all that, i have such a calm, energetic, happy and healthy baby girl. 😉
But you are not supposed to wet the umbilical cord this way..it can cause infection and rashes there. And you didnt wash the hair well after shampooing, you kinda just left it there.
@@msanrai it depends where you're from. In a country as hot & humid as Singapore, it makes sense to bathe daily to avoid rashes. Either way, best to check with a doctor

Such a great video... exactly what they demonstrated at Unitas four days ago when I had my son, I’ve already forgotten the eye cleaning part. Thanks for sharing
My edd is 29 mar 2022. This is helpful. I do not have a mother figure available in my husband household and my mom is living far from me. This is helpful video for newly mothers. Should have gone for motherhood classes.
I gave my baby “bird baths” for the first couple weeks. I was so afraid of hurting him, but have you seen how rough the nurses handle the newborns? They are real pros at it.
The baby's umbilical cord is not off it can cause infection if you put your baby in the tub like that... My pediatrician toold me to sponge bath my baby till the cord falls off. To not dip her in the tub
Do not put the baby in the tub until their umbilical cord has fallen off!!! I’m 25 weeks and am learning about this right now. Baby can get infections and pain from getting the umbilical cord wet, you also need to tuck or cut the diapers to where they don’t cover the umbilical cord as well .
Thanks for step by step information. I hope I will remember these steps. It is so hearth warming to watch it but at the same time I am stressed what if I can’t do it .. 😅🥹 Hopefully I will manage!! 💪🏽

I know that she only added a bit of soap to the water but when was it rinsed off ? After I take a bath I usually stand up and rinse off in the shower. Do babies not need to rinse the baby soap off? Is it something in the type of soap used?
Most of that is right. However that baby still has his umbilical cord stump. You never want to sit your baby directly into water with the stump still on. If it is still attached you only sponge bathe your baby and then rinse out the sponge and sponge clean water to rinse off the soap. Also only wash a section at a time on your baby and cover the other sections with a towel so the baby doesnt get cold. Once the babies stump falls off then you can sit the baby in a tub of water and wash the baby how she suggested.
I personally bathe.my first born.alone..and i never wet the umbilical cord because it might infect the wound...i used to covered it with a piece of cloth and taped it ..then removed it after.bathing

Hello lovely, it can be dangerous for babies to inhale large amounts of powder, it can also irritate their sensitive skin, they don’t need many products at all. Natural virgin coconut oil or olive oil in small amounts for dry skin is plenty for the first few months. I hope this helps ❤️

Thou am hoping on God for mercy (TTC)
Well done 👏 ✔️. Thanks
They used no soap on the baby hair, and you're suppose to sponge clean until the umbilical cord falls off 🙄
Don’t use soap on a newborn!!!
Your name indicates you may be an ocd clean freak. Please take care of your baby
Not a must.. I bathe my song with his cord he was perfectly fine. But again it all depends on where your from .
Omg the baby is so cute!!
I thought it is advisable to keep the umbilical cord dry to promote faster healing.
My mom's had 10 kids and she said never wet the umbilical cord. I've never seen anything like this.
May I know why baby powder is not encouraged? Looking forward for advices, thank you!
Hello lovely, it can be dangerous for babies to inhale large amounts of powder, it can also irritate their sensitive skin, they don’t need many products at all. Natural virgin coconut oil or olive oil in small amounts for dry skin is plenty for the first few months. I hope this helps ❤️
@@jessicamoylan Hi Jessica, thank you so much for the advices and tips! Really appreciate it ❤️
