- In this episode, Dr. Rena Malik, MD, explores the complex science behind orgasms and ejaculation with guest expert Barry Komisaurak. They discuss the intriguing differences and similarities in brain activity patterns during orgasm in men and women, the physiological mechanisms of ejaculation, and the multifaceted nature of female ejaculation, including its chemical composition. Dr. Malik and her guest provide deep insights into how sexual responses are mediated by neurological and hormonal factors, and engage in a thought-provoking discussion about ongoing research and unanswered questions in the field of sexual medicine.
Throughout the episode, the dialogue reveals the latest findings on how orgasms differ between self-stimulation and partner interactions, touching on the role of hormones like dopamine and prolactin. The conversation also ventures into the controversial territory of squirting, distinguishing it from other forms of ejaculation and debating its composition. This in-depth analysis not only educates listeners on the science of sexual responses but also encourages further inquiry and research into the nuances of human sexuality.

After watching this my TH-cam algorithm has gotten wild! Excellent conversation.
Great discussion. So much fascinating evidence-backed content.

Dear Rena, we all love you. You're doing great service.
Very interesting discussion. But I really wish you’d include links to (or at least citations for) the studies discussed.

I've got enough experience with both to say with 1000% certainty that it's not pee.
I carried out a biochemical analysis on it. It's just pee
@@Jeffersonx-vn7hy your results were invalid, because your sample was fake.
@@Jeffersonx-vn7hy That doesn't really say much with regards to the points in the video. What's the scientific methodology? How many women, and how could you tell it wasn't trained squirting?
From my many experiences, whether it's pee or not, I can say it doesn't resemble pee at all other then how it's excreted
@Jeffersonx-vn7hy it's pee when it's pee. When it not pee it's something else that was not analysed independently and systematically so far according to the video, not suprisinhly as who cares about what's going on in women's body?
Not pee. Made a girl drench my pants, shirt, socks and shoes. I’m talking like out of the washer without a spin cycle drenched. It dried up faster than I expected and it did not have any kind of urinal smell at all. I wore the same clothes on my ride home that evening. Then smelled them again in the morning. It was not urine. Plus, no one has that much urine in them to begin with.
That was very smart of you to not remove your pants during sex, for the science.
Had to start wearing SAFETY glasses,,
And SCUBA gear.

Got yourself an old faithful geyser? lol
It's like taking a shower sometimes. There have been a couple of girls that could just go on and on. It's not urine because there is no way anyone could piss that much.
My fiancée didn't start squirting until her mid-twenties. I was there, I mean right there, when it first happened. It was sweet and definitely not urine through taste, texture, smell and appearance. Both she and I are medical professionals.
My decade long anecdotal survey as the recipiant (not for scientific research at the time) told me the same. Almost clear, almost no taste and yes, I may have to say even sweet does fit. No smell though, hey, the nose was close. 🐽
@@gentlehorst My nose was the second closest thing to the "situation" lol. I remember the smell as being uniquely sweet and floral. Years later in a mall store that specialized in scented products, I smelled a mixture of lavender, lilac and sugar cookies which reminded me of it.
At first, I thought it was excessive lubrication, but the physical characteristics were different as noted previously. Also, there was some "pulsing" of the upper labia majora/minora. My fiancée said it was a completely different feeling than peeing and felt like an intense orgasm with something extra?!. She was unaware of the fluid release. It did tire her out which where she didn't want to continue on immediately. Also note that it happens still but not every time and the "squirting" times are not necessarily better than other times, just different.
@@richardjames6947 True. The question of him wondering if there is a second then in the making for the woman. I, again just my input for her output, so to write, it could be true as well because at these times, no seconds, please was correct while never talked about, though. But men and women to be asked 'just for research'?!
Volunteers? Have no fears.
My ex was 26 and I was 43 and I could make her do it and I knew when she was ready and could do it and GUARANTEE it every single time and she always wanted more even after and it is NOT PEE WHATSOEVER. You nailed it.

Amazing that we still don’t really know what is happening. Excellent discussion, but we need so much more research to understand the phenomenon. More questions as to why…
I have been squirted so many times in my face by my now ex wife that I am convinced it is not urine.
The smell has nothing to do with urine and the taste is not close to how I think urine would taste and the color is not how most urine is as well as it is close to colorless.
If it was urine, then there is no way that it would always be the same smell, taste and color because there is always a big difference in how concentrated the urine is, but the squirting liquid is the same or at least very similar every single time.
Even if my now ex wife had just been to the toilet and her urine was rather dark and smelly a short time before we had sex, her squirting liquid was still about the same as it always was.
Someone is takin the piss here 🫢
It's not urine. It's obvious once you pay attention to it. I regret getting a sample and putting it in the freezer. At the time I had the equipment to analyse the sample.
But absolutely, it is not urine.
How do I become a part of the study?
Get in line !!! 😬
With about six partners who achieved squirting it is not urine. It is clear and sweet like he said but I did have one partner who achieved real squirting and there after wanted it so bad that she would sometimes release urine in a "fake" squirting episode, so this will be a tricky study to do. All of my real squirting encounters involved the g-spot to trigger the orgasm. No one got there by straight clitoral stimulation. Clitoral could trigger an orgasm but not a squirting event. And yes some could continue after squirting but not all. Once they got over the shock of it so not often on the first time but in subsequent events they could go for hours after but others were done for the night much like a male orgasm. My thoughts are that a lot of how they reacted to squirting was in the brain and whether it freaked them out or not.
Skene's gland being a keyword to look up as the significant gland.
Let me save your viewers time. Some say its piss, some say it's not, but this guy wants to watch you do it. There, saved you 13 minutes.

Ahhhahahaha😆
Thanks 😂
And he said, "Don't worry about funding, I have my own funding. I have funding."
I love hearing you two kind of geeking out and just going, "It could be this, but no one's done that. I'm curious, let's find out!" It's not medically relevant, to whom? Y'know, I think there's a lot of people who want to know more about what the female reproductive system can get up to, it's a major system of organs for roughly half the human population!
It's crazy that in this day and age we still don't have a clear answer to these questions about women..
Let’s be smart we’re talking about something kinda possibly gross with women so if you don’t have clear answers it’s because you not going to like the answers
Yeah, crazy that our limited funding for medical research is prioritized toward life-threatening diseases and discomforting disorders and not scientific curiosities about perfectly normal sexual reactions. Smh
I have and know them, it is NOT URINE. Full STOP.
America no longer even knows what a woman IS
Finally someone speaking facts...
Thank you for spreading this positive sex education
You can see that the woman squirting reasearch is not deemed important (money wise combine with the fact that it concerns women) since, in 2024, we don't have have clear knowledge of it's chemical nature.
It's mind boggling !
That's because we don't care. We love it either way. If women find out it's pee they might not want to do it as much, so, better not to know. Keep it flowing!
Amen
We know, we just want to pretend we don't know to give clicks on the subject. Its, mostly urea.
the good stuff starts at 10:05
If someone who squirts often empties their bladder, than is able to make themselves/have their partner make them squirt at high volume in relatively quick successions, why would the bladder refill so quickly if it was urine, and why is it clear? If its not urine, where is all that liquid coming from, the uterus or bladder, and what is filling either of them up so quickly? These questions have been floating around in my head for YEARS and I'd LOVE to see a study that answers them.
Because it's not EMPTYING the bladder. It's just adding some each time.
If that is your personal experience, please volunteer for that study to enlighten us all.
I can imagine that it is very difficult to do serious science in this field.
0:37 I would not recommend eye balling it. The velocity alone could be harmful. I noticed when she pees it stays warm for a moment but when we are fooling around and she squirts its gets cold immediately.
This is absolutely true and "squirt" seems to evaporate rather quickly
.
100% correct. Skenes gland fluid
Like 3% of it is that fluid. The rest is called urine

Natural squirting and squirting seen in porn are not the same. I've worked in the adult entertainment industry and I can tell you that it is urine and natural squirting doesn't happen very often.
a lot of drinking liquids and getting that bladder filled up for the money shot- it is also a good way for the actress to shoot out any yeast infection, weenie cooties and nasty mouth saliva.
Must be faked then because when I squirt it’s not urine
Well I have been with two women who have squirted and it isn't urine.
@@carolinereidartist liar.
I dated a woman that squirted sooooo much it got annoying. It was pee for sure but in a hour session she could squirt 5 different times. It was nuts, honestly it was exhausting, her sex drive was madness. I couldn’t get any work done, so I left her 😭🤦🏾♂️
One thing I noticed is with a prostate based orgasm you can just keep doing it over and over until you get tired or bored. Of course there's no ejaculation in that case. So I've wondered if it's the ejaculation that prevents males from having another one.
I had a radical prostatectomy due to prostate cancer. As a result I do not ejaculate. I orgasm, the muscle spasms happen, but nothing comes out. I cannot do multiple orgasms, however my refractory period is much shorter than before. Also, orgasms seem less satisfactory than before. I often need to have 3 before I feel satisfied. 66 years old.
Refractory period is caused by neurotransmitter changes after orgasm (dopamine depletion, prolaction increase), he even states it in the video
@interestingtimes6242 Part of this is just your age. I'm 35, but I've noticed my orgasms are less intense as I get older and it's highly dependent upon my state of rest and hormones.
I can confirm the affirmation on 11:10 timeframe. It is certainly not urine. Different taste, different smell. Sometimes, the first round seems to have some traces of urine in it, but after that one, everything is clear and tasty!
I never had any indication of ANY “pee” like substance at ANY time and I have had a huge number of experience and testing with this as well, first hand…literally.
There's no where in the female anatomy to store "squirt". It's urine. It just hasn't been sitting in the bladder for hours fermenting. Hence why "first round has some traces of urine"
If the Skenes gland is the female equivalent of the prostrate, what could account for the difference in male prostrate cancer.
Spermatozoa reabsorption?
But what is it about the spermatozoa cell that makes it carcinogenic?
Prostate. Not prostrate.
I'd like to do a collab study with Dr Rena....for science 🧑🏻🔬🔬📈

So rhe real question is what is the definition for ejaculate for women. Some literature seems to refer to a vaginal fluid released during orgasm. Some seem to refer to a fluid that comes from the urethra.
Furthermore some information points to female ejaculate originating in the bladder, with a study habing participants drinking a dye and then later testing collected fluid.
While some others seem to not show any trace of urine.
He answered that question in the video.
@@562wiseguy no not really. I watched the video. I've also read most of the studies. And the studies differ or don't actually address what I was saying. Furthermore squirting and ejaculating seem to used interchangeably and sometimes seem to refer to different things.

How does one volunteer for your studies?

Like they talked about in the video, it's tough to get funding for because it's not really medically relevant.

For sure.
I have been sprayed so many times in the face by my now ex wife that I consider myself an expert on the topic of the taste and smell.
You would only know this is you have a large enough experience of tasting urine......so you are saying you regularly taste and drink urine?
what is the organ storing this liquid.
What if the liquid is produced somewhere analogous to the male prostate and other glands, then stored in the bladder before blast off?
@FutureAIDev2015 "what if". Where??
Skeens gland.
@@ladykathrynperry9094 ty, I think now we are talking.
Skees gland does not hold 250cc of fluid.
SO.... it's 2024 and we still don't know what the squirt liquid is made of nor how it is produced?
Human intimacy and sexual activity is a real divine mystery. !! How could something feel so very very fantastic, where there are no words to describe it perfectly accurately ?? !
It's not urine when a woman truly squirts, however, some women say they're squirting when they are really pissing.
I love it
Ask Dr Steve and Dr Vera Bodansky of EMO Books 📚
Please consider the female ejaculation as something akin to Gleeking with the salivary glands but instead with the Bartholin glands.
2024 and no one can still explain the woman
‘Don’t worry about the funding.. I have male funding’ 🤣🤣
Scientific research should have a gofundme
So it's a question asked by millions of people but we don't know the answer yet.
Here is a possible experiment: Female urethral plugs have been tested to treat stress urinary incontinence. IDK how uncomfortable or distracting such devices might be, but women were able to tolerate them for at least a few weeks at a time and they were pretty effective at preventing urine leakage according to the studies.
How about placing a urethral plug in ladies who commonly squirt and see if they can still squirt at orgasm with the plug in? Might be easier to asses with either masturbation or orogenital stimulation than penile penetration. That might help sort out the source and prove/disprove this vaginal/uterine imbibition theory. Obviously need good informed consent for volunteers and so forth.
I volunteer for the taste test
Yes
Evolutionary setting... makes a lot of sens anyway... and pleasure too 👍
I've been eye to eye with a squirt. The stream is wider than peeing and it doesn't hit the other side of the room. It looks more like a garden hose that is low pressure. It's sticky like a tear.
In the early 1960s at Beatles concerts, All the girls in the audience we're wet, and so was the floor, They used to say the girls lost control and peed. I wonder if that's actually what it was. It was known to happen at Elvis concerts too.🤔
"don't worry about funding, I have extra funding" ... 😅 ... The doctor really wants to get down to the bottom of this research LOL
It's the end !
I don't get what the problem is:
1. Create a questionnaire to provide to women to fill out to find the squirters
2. Have them collect samples at home. Two or three samples of urine add two or three samples of their squirting ejaculate
3. Once you have the samples, you look at the characteristics of all the samples including their chemical make up and then you can decide if it is urine or not.
I kind of understood 17% of that and I'm not sure of that. The squirting thing gave me a headache.......
Looking forward to the study of multiple orgasm inhibition in women after ejaculation and a study of the assay of ejaculate vs squirting fluid vs a combination of both OR a newer ejaculosquirt fluid.
I'd really like to get to the root of this mystery

I have been having this debate and now I finally have proof. Squirting is not pee.
I would agree it is not Pee….
Its Sweet it is a
Woman’s Essence.
Men quench your thirst.
I have been Lucky enough to experience this with several women…
It’s a mixture of both urine and vaginal fluids. I once slept with a squirter and I could literally smell the urine in the fluid that was sprayed out of her vagina but it had a different consistency from just urine so my conclusion-it’s a mixture of both fluids because both fluids come out of the urethra hole. It’s called orgastic urination from the paraurethral ( skenes) gland.
It’s not urine and it is clear, sweet to tasteless. If she urinates at the same time that’s another thing.
@@carolinereidartistWhat does pee taste like?
at 11:00 Not urine. Female ejaculation does not preclude multiple orgasms.
Squirting is not pee. I’ve done it and tasted it.
Every woman can do it, just takes the right partner/stimulation/arousal.
Was it sweet?
The partner can also tell with the ttinyestest amount of effort; don't understand why this is still somewhat a taboo/unknown.
In other news: mother's can often produce milk. And sporadically males too.
It's almost as if we're mammals doh
It remains surprising that more comprehensive studies on female "squirting" have apparently lacked funding and have still not been done.
People are doing it for free every day. All they have to do is ask someone
Because it's mostly urine. We don't want to disprove the theory that it's not.
Squirting from urethra is urine.
Ejaculate originates in various glands in vagina and vulva, it's not from the urethra and bladder.

It is NOT urine. Its also NOT thick and sticky, that would be the natural lubricant.
Firstly I don't think it's pee, maybe a little, maybe but at most just a little, otherwise I would say it is not. Secondly this is a man that knows what he wants to find out 😂 well done sir 😂. And thirdly, his theory sounds sound.
I absolutely don't care if it's urine, actually that's even better
As far as science has come and they still can't say if squirt is urine or not!!??
I'm thinking the NIH doesn't allot that much grant money toward solving that scientific question!🤣
Men can also squirt. It's just a starting trouble for most men, just learned to release some muscles

I think the people on here saying it's not urine didn't experience a real squirter.
I have for certain and it ABSOLUTELY is NOT URINE. 0% is urine, ever.
I do believe you have that exactly backwards. Having experienced both real squirter and fake, the fake was urine.
@markpashia7067 I'm curious. Then, where in the female body is an organ that holds that amount of liquid? I know it's the bladder. It not rocket science it's commonsense.
Yes it was not pee in my experience it smelled and tasted different than urine
I was thinking about this lady in the shower this morning it was a good thought I was thinking about her pretty steadily for about 5 to 10 minutes started my day off just right
Not urine!
This the guy she told you not to worry about
How can Dr's not know if squirting is pee? This would be a simple study. Also how can they not know where ejaculate or squirting comes from? Haven't vaginas been dissected for centuries?
Concerning squirting from what I have read the bladder fills with fluid that is not passed to the kidney at all. So if there's any urine smell or taste to it it's because squirt is being mixed with whatever urine is left in the bladder.
But it's fluid that has nothing to do with being processed by the kidneys first.
They found even if the girl empties her bladder before sex it fills from stimulation before the squirt and what it fills wirh is not from the kidneys.
However I have no doubt there are pornstars that can't squirt on command and probably let their urine fly.
So in those cases it's urine. In other cases it's pure sport I would list an almost tasteless and in other situations it's a mixture of the two.
That's what I understand anyways. It's the only thing that makes sense
This is like saying diarrhea isn't crap. The bladder is the only other place to store so much liquid.
Perhaps it’s generated and not stored 🤷♂️
It's a very technical conversation and it all just went over my head...
No value added what so evere
