Glock firing pin issues after installing a channel liner

  • A channel liner might be hard to install if you cerakote a slide. If you use a channel liner install tool and tap too hard, it can deform your channel liner and create a lip. If you use a punch, you can also deform and create a lip that will make it frustrating to insert your firing pin. This is not always the case, but we have seen it happen multiple times.

FYI: Channel liners are directional. One end is beveled and goes in first.

Are the stainless steel channel liners worth it? I'm thinking about putting one in my glock 21 for reduced friction! I also plan to install a stronger firing pin spring, marine cups and a dpm recoil system! Any input would be appreciated!

I'm having a problem with a g43 build. That does not have a channel liner. Firing pin keeps getting stuck forward and the next round trying to feed gets stuck on it as it comes up.

Had this issue on my 19 , it's something to do with the trigger parts , it lays flat on top . It may be sitting too low . You have to bend it up . I would send link but don't know the video, a friend helped me out thankfully

It'll still work, I have without issue just to see if it is reliable...it was. I've got one that didn't have a liner for about 500 rounds until one came in. It's main purpose to to keep the firing pin and it's assembly centered to ensure it goes through the firing pin hole to be able to hit the primer and also to keep the firing cups and spring from being worn out while being pushed back and forth inside the slide. A lot of folks don't understand how all the parts are necessary and how to work with them.

Yo man I have an issue where my firing pin moves excessively when I pull back the trigger, the firing pin will move out and is visible? I’ve tried a new firing pin, thinking maybe the assembler messed up on the channel liner.

If the firing pin didn’t protrude out to where it is visible, then it wouldn’t be able to reach the primer on your rounds. Are you having problems firing your gun? If not then don’t worry about it
