- A necessity for any Glock Armorer, or shooters tool box. This is the perfect tool for installing the Channel Liner (GFPCL01). Device is calibrated so the channel liner is installed perfectly each time.

Pro tip
Before removing the old channel liner insert the channel liner installing tool in all the way, then mark the handle of the tool with a sharpe marker. When installing the new channel liner tap it down with your mallet until the mark is flush with the slide.

The channel liner was considered the "Loc Ness Monster" or "Big Foot" of the Glock pistol. Some people have heard of them but no one has seen one until today. Thanks for the video.

Cool video, I never this existed! Just a suggestion from a viewer. A mark on the installation tool that shows when the liner is fully seated would be really helpful. It could be a small machined notch that lines up with the back of the slide to show when the liner is fully seated. Just a suggestion!

I found out it existed after i refinished my slide with duracoat and baked it on in my over. when i went to reassemble i found a melted piece of plastic blocking my firing pin. now i have to buy one lol. we live and we learn.
11 years later and I just did the same thing. Whoops!

just picked up a new upk ....came with both the liner and the install tool....never knew this ....never saw this in other assembly /reassembly videos

fucking God bless you lenny. i got a new SS slide and my trigger wouldnt reset a few times a mag. thanks to you i know that the gunsmith forgot to transfer this part from my old slide.

Thx! I was getting light strikes on my G23 so pulled my striker assy and tried cleaning the channel with a brush - lo and behold that sleeve came out. I simply put it back in but after watching your vid realize it's likely not fully seated. Thx a bunch!
No need to hammer in the liner. I bought the GS tool and seated by hand, no problem. For liner removal, I use a 38cal. brass bore brush just barely gripping the inside of the liner - works fine and no damage to liner. I'm not convinced the GS install/removal tool is necessary.
man I can never finish watching these videos this guy makes, find someone new who can keep it short, informative and to the point, 11 minutes for a video that should have been about 2 or 3 min if even that, but this guy loves to drag things on, babble and bore you to death.

I’ve always used the brush to pull the liner, I just use a soft punch one the edge of the liner and push it in by hand. I just tap it with the palm of my hand! Never had any problems or had to change a liner.
I though I'd pass this along...., I called Glock and they told me the 42's & 43's DO NOT have these liners in them. It looks like there's one in the slide, but what you're seeing is steel ---part of the slide itself. So don't ty to remove something that's not there! All other Glock models have them.

Damn when I took the striker out of my 19 gen 4 the liner came out with it. I never realized you need a tool to put it back in
@Kimber 10MM I'm having this exact problem, was so in a rush to put the slide together, and then wonder after forcing the liner was there a specific direction it should be facing. If you can get in contact and offer some advice that would be awesome. Also couldn't tell I'd the liner was sitting in the correct position in the slide, in the case that I happened to put the channel liner in the correct way.
Consider wrapping the lag bolt w/tape below the first 1/2" to avoid scratching the slide.
you can literally just push this fucking part in with a bic pen. it's a gimmick to sell a tool you don't need
We say interchangeable and cheap, but slide parts kits are going for between 75 and 115 usd from what i see... some springs and polymer, pieces easy to break... glocks are awesome the learning curve on the small parts is expensive
You can buy most Glock parts individually. You can get the channel liner for like $2.
It would be a lot smoother if you used an arbor press or something to smoothly push the liner in instead of pounding it with a hammer. I wonder if it would shrink just a little too if you make it cold first?

Hey I really appreciate your time making and instructing a video. I have a concerning question about the firing pin but not so much about it. It’s actually the channel liner itself? Is it possible it can be to long of a liner, as we as too snug for the firing pin while inside of the channel liner. Would it be any problem?
try running the gun completely dry, will work fine either way, i only put a drop where the trigger connector and bar contact, thats it

Dont need a hammer. Freeze the channel liner and the insert tool for an hr or two. Install by hand

I have a very inexpensive tool I use for for my glocks . Disassemble and reassemble is so cost-effective it only cost $.50 for this tool

Talk 11 min about channel liner, but not mentioned that one side of the channel liner is beveled, which must be inserted it into the slide first. AND NO HAMMERING NEED IT.
Ram Kav . your wrong!, even brownells gunsmiths lightly hammer the liner in, its the only way its done, why would the glock store/ Lenny Magill do it any different, he built his business on glock, he's a glock expert!!

drive pins are available anywhere just figure your size and get a drive pin litteraly the exact tool they are selling

So I just got done putting in a channel liner on my brand new glock slide. When I took the tool out, a perfectly broken piece of the tip of the channel liner was still on it. I looked in the slide with a light and the rest of the liner is still perfectly seated with no debris or chewed up end where the piece broke off. Striker comes through just fine, every part went back into the slide without issue. Should I be OK?
Their is a nipple on one side and not on the other. What side goes into the gun? Any help please . .

Tapered side goes towards the front. You’ll feel more of an outward edge on the rear of the liner.
You don't need a special tool to install a channel liner. A bic pen barrel and a hammer work just fine.
I tried this with the GS installation/removal tool and it wouldn't set completely into the slide nor could i or the gunsmith i took this by pull the tool from the slide and i believe he had to burn the the fpcl in the slide to pull it from the slide
Lenny, I purchased your dual-purpose liner tool and tried to get the liner out by placing a cross bar in the tool’s hole and pulling. It will not budge. Any hints on what I can do to get it out. Thanks.
a 5/16" eye bolt from your local hardware store works best. Get one that's long enough to reach the sleeve, twist in in a turn or two and pull out the sleeve. Of course you can't reuse the old sleeve. This is the best tool for this bar none.

I have a raw slide with cuts my liner seem like it do not fit
I picked up a used G23, and the liner slides out as easily as the firing pin does.It's not chewed up, and the gun runs fine. Is there any legitimate reason to install a new liner?

Is it crucial that the firing pin safety plunger is in the slide as the when inserting plastic liner way down inside could go past the FPS plunger channel too?
I have a g17 gen 4 with front serrations. I am trying to disassemble the slide but the firing pin sleeve is stuck and I cant relieve spring pressure to remove the plastic slide plate on the rear. What should I do? Is there a good way to pry the plastic slide cover plate off without damaging other parts? This is not my first glock or first time disassembling the slide on a glock. However this is the first time I have had this problem or even heard of this problem. Any help is greatly appreciated.

It will wear the firing pin spring and overtime the inside of the slide.
is there any high dollar striker fired pistol that doesn't have plastic inside of the slide? why doesn't hi point striker fired pistols have plastic inside of their slides? are hi point pistol makers smarter than the high dollar gun makers designers?
