      @FieldGuidetoDIY Any chance you can get more direction on the wiring? This is excatly what I want do but do not know the wiring diagram.

    I appreciate the details in this video, so the lack of explanation of the wiring is odd! Did you cut the plugs off and just wire in the red and black from the left and right? How did you determine the pos/neg of the white and blue wires you spliced into?

  • @davidrakes7463
    @davidrakes7463 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    Eddie - Could you provide a more accurate detail of the wiring splicing! I want to do this mod, but I'm very unsure of the electrical connections.

      me too! i am a girl who is about to do this the first time of my life, did you cut off the switch? or tide it together with the wires and tuck in?

    Thanks for this video-- it gave me the confidence to DIY the same on my 24 Mav Lariat, though I used the Nilight 8pc LEDs instead since those saved me from having to go under and around.
    One question: my truck bed lights dont come on when I unlock my car-- am i missing something?

    Hmm, my xl Maverick does not have The LED side bed light and switch that you showed in the first 30 seconds. Can this project still be done using the wires within the screw off panels?

    • @FieldGuidetoDIY

      Certainly. You just lose the convenience of the switch.

    Was thinking of doing the same mod except with using T cap connector to spice into the wires. Any idea what guage the wire to the built-in led is? Awesome video. Only one I could find on youtube that utilized the existing switch in the truck bed.

    • @FieldGuidetoDIY
      @FieldGuidetoDIY  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That may work for you. I've never used a T cap connector. As for the wiring gauge, I don't know for sure but it looks to be about 28. Let me know how your project goes. Thanks so much for watching.

      @@FieldGuidetoDIY completed the other day! T capped black and green wire to positive on LED and the other wire to negative wire on LED. It's a 16 foot LED that I'll wrap around the bed. I haven't stuck it up yet but I'll trim the LED cable so there isn't unnecessary length.

      @@JoshBaumer I have a lariat with the led and switch box already installed. The built-in LED controlled by the switch has wires going to it. Tcap into the black and green wire. This will feed the positive side of your LED strip. The other wire can be tcapped as well and this can be connected to the negative side of your LED strip.

      Does your light turn on when the truck is running? If I try to turn the cargo light when the car is running it just blinks, also they cannot be turned on right after turning the truck off, have to wait at least 3 minutes to turn it on…

    Since you didnt really explain how you connected the passenger side to rhe drivers side, I'm ti assume you ran it under the truck theough a grommet hole and behind the hitch? I am with the others. Would love to see yow you wired this up completely. Wish it was explained better.

    • @FieldGuidetoDIY
      @FieldGuidetoDIY  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I did not. I ran it across over the truck frame and zip tied it down.

    • @franciscojavierhidalgomart1550
      @franciscojavierhidalgomart1550 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There is one problem with that. You could connect the driver side and it works but once you connect the passenger side then it stop working probably because the two strips are too much along with the built in led. That is the reason why wiring is not explained properly and its because it doesn't work!
