Thanks for saving her. ❤ She’s so sweet. Hope she can make a full recovery. At least she’ll get great care now, will no longer be hungry, and can be happy having companionship being around other horses.
I own a breeding pair of purebred Egyptian arabians they have the beautiful large eyes dished muzzle. I was thinking of the potential this horse has until I found out the age. If she was younger she would have made a superior brood mare
@@alysabrumfield9607So you only see value in a horse is if it's fit for breeding? Of course...money, money money, that's all the horse world is about...This poor mare came here frome God knows where, obviously starving and in need of security and tender care, and all you can think of is "Oh, what a lovely horse. I wonder if she can be used as a broodmare to be used and used until she is no longer capable." Breeders and the way they talk about the animals they breed disgust me.
@@singingstars5006 Something special about Egyptian Arabians. I knew a super-senior gelding, and he was almost like a dog wanting to get the petting and grooming and attention, would come over to hug and lean on me every time I visited.
I choose to look at the silver lining: her feet were in fairly good shape. She moves well. She seems to offer good/safe handling. And she can see! Yay! ❤
Teeth teeth teeth!!! A 32 year old horse probably has no grinding surface left and can starve on lush pasture because they can’t chew and therefore digest it. So many people don’t know this!
She looks Egyptian bred, and she will come along faster than you think. She would have Nabor, a stallion somewhere in her pedigree, holding a Grey gene. I owned Bri-Sha Arabians. We were a show and heritage farm, until divorce it us, lost all but one of my stallions and 23 mares and 9 yearnings. I was devastated. I wish I could help with funds but I can't, so I will share with my community and pray. May the Lord bless you with abundance and financial support.
Bless you, i know exactly what divorce leads us to lose and it is devestating, animals get hit harder than we do. I lost my treasured dog sasha in my divorce and when i was in a position to go get her back i found that my ex husbands other half had indeed starved her almost to death and the rspca took her and she died in the kennel maids arms a month later, i will live with this horror for the rest of my life. Needless to add, i was promised faithfully that my dog would be cared for until i could find suitable accomodation for my children and of course my angel girl, alas she was gone, i will never forget her.
@lindielou2054 So sorry for your loss. Hopefully, things will get better. I am lost without my foals. They were the best and so loving. They would follow me everywhere and even came into the house and walked around investigating, I had a stud colt that loved to look into the full mirrors in the dining room. Best wishes to you and yours.
I'm glad you mentioned the plan is to get her teeth done. When I saw you haltering her on that lush green pasture, I immediately remembered something people in other rescue said: you can have a horse living on a lush green pasture and they will starve if they have bad teeth. And considering her age, I guess it's possible there is not much teeth left. And poor old lady, if she spent big part of her life with her brother, it had to be hard to loose him and not even have different horse for comfort.
When I saw it was an arabian I had hope, those horses where bred to be able to survive anything. Also coming from a desert they thrive from very little and can sustain longer periods of little food. Longer than the average horse anyway. It's a testament to that incredible breed that she managed to survive the neglect and starvation specially as old as she is. It was heartbreaking to see and l’m so glad things ended well for her.
I know you're upset and I know you know this, but I wanted to remind you that if folks hear you saying you tried to get them criminally charged, they won't call you or anyone else for help. When there is no criminal/evil intent, I've found the best I can do is educate someone, care and help...in any situation like this. Thank you for all you do. This is beautiful.
It's so frustrating that someone could allow a horse to starve and decline to this point without surrendering her to someone. I'm so grateful that she is with you now.
I am so glad you can give her a chance to heal. I can see what other followers see. She is beautiful and her eyes look so soft and kind. I can't wait to see her improve under your care. Thank you.
How can she be so sweet and trusting after being starved and neglected? Hope she has at least a few happy, healthy years ahead of her. God bless the animals.

When I watched her getting into the trailer I thought she looked like an Arabian. I liked that she was very interested in her new surroundings and definitely perked up. Surely that's a good sign you can save her and help her have a happy last few years. Looks like she was depressed from losing her brother and being alone for so long. Poor thing. 💜🐴
What a sweet girl! She's stunning, and obviously still so full of life at 32 years old! God bless you for rescuing this senior mare and giving her a chance to live out the rest of her life in a loving environment. ❤❤❤

We had that situation many years ago, we had our old mare euthanized. She was 33. Her brother stopped eating properly, his heart was broken. We tried everything! Blood work, teeth checked, changed feed, dewormed again etc. They had been together his entire life, he was depressed and wouldn't eat. It took time and lots of love to get him interested in life again. He celebrated his 35th birthday April 2024 is doing great now slurping down his special "Grandpa porridge"
It hits extra hard to lose a lifelong companion, but horses are also herd animals, so they will always suffer if they are left alone. A horse should have a companion of some sort, even one of a different species if there are no other horses available.
I am watching this after seeing a later video. It turns out she mostly needed appropriate food and "care". The opportunity to move more, someone to pay attention. Not just any food but trial and error for what is best for her. I am glad she got rescued it is the appropriate term for her new home.
If they can't take care of the animal give it to someone you can, its not a crime to be poor, it is a crime to starve a person or animal. Thankyou for taking the withered soul I hope to heaven you can help the horse.
Just from the bull pen shots this was a very nice mare in her day. First she has a very nice neck coming out high from her shoulder with an above average Arabian head. She has a long back with a typical high withers dues to her age and neglect. This mare has a long and level croup with a well placed high tail. Her hind quarters are well set, with a bit long gaskin and high hock, although she seems to have a long reaching stride that can reach under her barrel. Moving to her from end. She has a long well sloped shoulder. From the point of the shoulder to the elbow is clearly long and should offer this mare extension to her stride shown by the ability of her knee to move beyond he front of the point of shoulder. With 30 years of breeding Arabian horses, she is actually other than underweight is in good shape for 30+ years old. I'm guessing from her over all behavior in the video she has been handled at some time in her life. Feet are in good shape and she is eatting well. Best of luck !

Even though she's in awful shape she's still absolutely beautiful. Good luck, gorgeous old lady, I'm so glad she's found a soft place to land.🥺❤️❤️❤️
She doesn't look old to me, only under fed!
Many places charge $7-8.00 a bale for alfalfa.
you have made me cry!!
Teeth teeth teeth!!! A 32 year old horse probably has no grinding surface left and can starve on lush pasture because they can’t chew and therefore digest it. So many people don’t know this!
Properly designed food will address this, and I'm sure that the rescue vet is well aware of how to help her.
Yes. She appeared to be on pasture. Her hooves are good so she's had some care. It has to be her teeth or some chronic illness.
My thoughts exactly
@@M.Campbell Teeth and diet are absolutely critical in old age.
There are feeds for horses that have that issue.
Arabs never give up. Their determination is legendary
It's so important to have a plan in place for your animals in case of any sudden illness, death, or change in circumstance.
