I don't know if I am going to sound stupid , but when is the last time you blew the air tanks out? Wondering if ice formed in there to make the check valve bleed the air.
Well, I hate to say it, but "That's Truckin'" Good to see you got a new part. Be thankful it's just that and not a fuel pump or something else that left you on the side of the road!
Mine has the dryer on passenger side near rad. That woven metal discharge line goes into a high heat resistant hose that looks like fuel line. They loop it behind the motor over the trans. So the heat of the motor will keep the line clear of frozen water.
You just need to put some airline antifreeze into the air system. Im pretty sure your air compressor is fine. Have you replaced that spin on filter on your air dryer?
your air dryer froze up and popped the safety off, before they put that on air compressors it would blow the head gasket, keep the 2 micron filter on the engine, the frame filter should be a 25 micron, 10 5 7 microns will starve the fuel pump for fuel and cause low power, you put air line anti freeze in a tank , remove a line or pipe plug, do not pour it in hoses, same on trailers, the touchy brakes would be someone bypassed the proportioning valve, it only gave you full air pressure when the red knob was pushed in, if its normal other times when bobtailing you may have had ice on that valve when you unhooked from a trailer, if its still slow to build air you may have blown the gasket and or the air dryer cartridge is full of carbon, do a oil splatter test, two inch circle on paper, with the braided line off, engine hot, if the circle is covered in oil you need a compressor.
Just asking?Did you rebuild your air dryer before cold season?Do you have manual air valves on your tanks? Are you aware if you pull a trailer that someone else has pulled that their dryer isn't working they left you a mess?Air system problems really get worse when it gets cold, keep the chin up and their is a lot of knowledge out here, lkeep asking the questions?
Why do you run such tight fuel filters in the winter? When we ran OTR trucks, we went up to 10 micron filters in the winter. The bio diesel sh*t doesn't flow well when it's cold.
If your check valve is acting funny you can unscrew that black plastic cap and behind it their is an adjustment screw. For instance if you don't have enough air to get the brakes to release you can adjust as an emergency only to get to a safe spot. Remember emergency only!!!!!
There is nothing wrong with the blow off valve, just take the line off the air compressor and put some air line antifreeze in the line,,your air dryer is frozen up.

You need to drain your tanks before winter and get some brake line antifreeze to pour in the lines. And get some power service to prevent fuel gelling
Always change the cartridge when you do your annual inspection.
Try sound alcohol in the air lines. Probably iced up, somewhere in the system

dude the air valve just iced up you're all good
A big hello from Ottumwa
Glad that you got the issue all fixed
Prayers brother..Stay strong and good things will happen

Looks like that truck is giving you Fitz sometimes I crack my self up
Haha nice one!
Make sure your heater on your air dryer is working. Pressure relief valve is leaking because theres a blockage
Most likely air dryer cartridge is frozen

Any leaks possibly covered in ice
Usually if you can't build air pressure it's usually the governor
governor only stops the air compressor from building, in rare cases the unloaders are stuck open

I didn’t realize you could run 10 instead of 2 micron. That sort of makes me nervous. I’ll have to look into that a bit

Does the heat element work in your Raycor fuel filter?
The Davco?
Yup@@truckingwithfitz3399
I don’t remember seeing a cord going to it but I will double check. That would be awesome if it did
I was wondering the same thing about the heating element ..
