I adore Dame Edna. When Dame Edna is on I am totally in the zone with her. She can make Joan Rivers laugh out loud. I can see her stealing some of Edna jokes.
Its truly an accomplishment - and a total compliment- when one can make Joan not just laugh, but THAT hard as Dame Edna did more than several occasions!
My favorite Edna clip. Amazing audience response. Her son Kenny is “quite well known” in department-store DISPLAY departments! As a longtime "friend of Kenny" professional in such departments, I appreciate the shout-out!!!
(guest) Barry Humphries' " Dame Edna Everidge " is so funny ! 😊🐨😊. And the absolute opposite character, the revolting Sir Les Patterson : both are comic gems, along with the sad " Madge ". And the always ill husband, " Norm", and the talented son , Kenny, both of whom we never see. 😊. Actually, have you noticed , Dame Edna has quite elegant legs !! Hear the wolf whistles as she came in ! 😊🐨🌷😊🐨😊. For extra interest, look on You Tube for a very early version of "Dame Edna", " she" started out as plain, drab, and very ordinary looking ! Long before her rise to superstardom.🐨🌷🐨🌷🐨🌷🐨.
I think Australia was connected to Great Britain like Canada is and a few other 'Commonwealth countries. Dame Edna probably tried to reunite the 2 countries through her friendship with Queen Elizabeth who privately regards Dame Edna as royalty. Therefore that old tune was played as a subliminal message to the world. Though it could merely mean Dame Edna ruled the air waves. Hope this helps, Captain.

@DistantCousin Not that bizarre. As I'm sure you know, Australia and Britain share the same monarch. Rule Britannia can sometimes (albeit very occasionally) be heard played as an unofficial 'National Anthem' in Commonwealth Realms.
Boo Nell - 8 years ago ... doesn’t Joan look so much better now a days? lythsian - 7 months ago [2018] not really Mrs Lincoln - “Best play since Antietam!”
without people like her this world would be a boring place!
AMAZING
Dame Edna/Barry Humphries: Greatest of the great.
Joan is lovely and really gets it!
this is beyond hilarious. 2 GREATS
REST IN PEACE JOAN RIVERS and DAME EDNA
How many other guests left Joan rivers lost for words ?
Joan was respectfully playing the straight man here as was required in interviews with Dane Edna. She was a classy broad that Joan.
The clash of two comedy titans. My goodness I can't
THE BEST!
unbearably funny
Two comic divas!
@@Kimllg88 Glad to hear you say so because I laugh like a drunken idiot when I watch these Edna clips. Even now, my stomach muscles hurt...
Joan rivers couldn't hold a candle to dame edna, Joan is totally scripted
wow! Dame Edna left Joan Rivers speechless! Now that's a big thumbs up for the Dame...which clearly she enjoys

Very unusual for me to laugh out loud on my own
Nothing average about Everage.
Simply a legend , comic genius 😂😂😂
Love to hear Joan laugh - adds to the gig.

She killed it at the end.
Don’t be uncalled for
comic genius. un touched and her ability to ad lib incase someone interrupts a joke is amazing
You don't get to say much with Dame around. Haha Thank goodness for that.
@MichaelKingsfordGray What???
That is so funny....but my children did - hahaha...
Joan is like the only interviewer that I've seen that could keep up with The Dame! Rip joan!
This performer has me giggling even before she speaks. I giggle like this with John Candy, Bill Murray SteveMartin
It's Stephanie Kramer
Seeing Dame Edna live is incredible!
I saw this over 30 years ago when I was a gay teenager. It still makes me laugh so hard I cry.

I wish MY physicians would give me the thumbs up!
Dame Edna talking about still having her "juices" is a bit much. But I suppose that goes along with her talking about her dark nooks and crannies.
easily the funniest comedian that ever walked the earth. The wit just flew////
I love Edna
Magic-what a treasure-RIP Dame Edna
Wow! Look at Joan! She looks great! What did she do to herself?
Dame Edna is the funniest woman ever
love you all
Still hilarious in 2021!!!👌👌👌🤣🤣🤣
If your gonna do drag do it with finesse and skill not some silly flame running with out of wack hormones. Dame Edna is a force to contend with.
@JoshGold34 .... don't know what that means, - but I think it must be a good thing... !
Why did they play ‘Rule Britannia’ when she came on?! Dame Edna is Australian 🧐

@raymond daubney Pains you does it? There, there. Never mind, you utterly worthless, antipodean, embittered, not good enough to be English prick.
Cuz Australia is British
@@perperson199
No.
That loud humming (THX VHS) pissed me off (PITY)
I didn’t realize how tall Edna is!
Joan is just an amazing, effortless host. Great comedian in her own right and gets Dame Edna to a T.
who is the great co-guest, Stephanie....?
@DistantCousin
Not that bizarre. As I'm sure you know, Australia and Britain share the same monarch. Rule Britannia can sometimes (albeit very occasionally) be heard played as an unofficial 'National Anthem' in Commonwealth Realms.
Yes. I think they think he's English. American can't tell the difference
I love Dame Edna
Rule Britannia entry tune lol?
Because that's where he/she became famous and recognised. Australians for a long time, disowned him.
How bizarre - her entrance music was "Rule Brittania"
Love you
Priceless
A maga"star ✨
Why would they play Rule Britannia? She's not British!
It is an American audience, and they must be guided, even in the simplest of understandings.
No she's not, although she became famous and the star she us there. Australians disowned her for years.
GOD why don't women still dress like this anymore???
Like Dame Edna?
Love the hair.
why the dislikes
@jrr1234567890 Does too......
I would’ve love Joan on Rupaul’s as one of the judges.
I don’t get the joke about the thumbs up
She's in a room full of gynaecology specialists, so... think literally!
I think it's stephanie powers - 70s 80s actress
Astorianadventurer looks like Stephanie Kramer who starred on Hunter tv detective show.
@@vwdavy613 It’s Stephanie Kramer.
....doesn't Joan look SO MUCH better now a days, as opposed to how she looks here ?
not really

not really
Mrs Lincoln - “Best play since Antietam!”
Right now she looks incomparably better than she ever did before!
Who is this Stephanie next to Dame? What was she famous for?
zakyum That's Stephanie Kramer from tv series Hunter with Fred Dryer
As opposed to the run-of-the-mill drag queen, Dame Edna wasn't a fundamentally angry person. That's why "she" was so popular with ordinary people.
Moronic character!
"a face of a thousand nostrils" ..bahahhaa!..
LOL a classic line.
