I saw "kenshi-like" and my heart rate increased
I SWEAR I'm not anticipating Kenshi 2 like a fiend. I SWEAR IT!!!
Me too until I saw the turn based actions. Uhgggg
Kenshi 2 will be Happening someday... in 20 years or so xD
Yeah, Soullash 1 and 2 are rad. They're both made by one dude.
SAMEEEE
Another game in my favorite genre for the mentally disturbed
The best kind of mental
This game is fantastic. The developer releases a juicy update every week or so. They usually drop an entire race or skill with each update, along with a ton of bugfixes and QOL. The newest version has playable goblins, orcs, ursine, gnolls, and more.
The mods are a little sparse right now but the dev has made a point of setting up a robust modding framework. There is currently settlement management in the works as well.
looking through the steam workshop, there's some solid mods already, and some modders that seem like they'll be around for a minute making good stuff
If only they'd drop some friggin character sprites or something to make it even remotely cool to play. Nice inventory, nice skills/build concepts, terrible visuals in the actual gameplay.
@@majorpwner241i think it will be implemented into the game
SO GOOD!
@@majorpwner241 Soulash1 had those, if I remember correctly. So I wouldn't worry about it :)
So I bought this and the first one because of you... but what's funnier is that I told my Lt. at work about this game cause he's into these too. He mentioned he saw someone playing Soulash 2 on TH-cam and I was like "Ambiguous Amphibian?" And he was like "Yeeeaaahh" and then we just talked about your Kenshi videos. Keep up the solid work man, love your channel.
Definitely wanna see more of this. I think a narrative video on the main channel would be fun too.
"When you die, the world dies with you"
Imagine the fate of the planet being tied to the fate of the offspring of Trevor Philips and Johnny Somali 😂
[excited and then suddenly disappointed Hungarian noises in the middle distance]
"Sorry lads, it's Soulash, not the other thing."
plz explain.
Edit: oh, no way, I had no idea goulash was Hungarian! Love that stuff! Thanks for teaching me something new today :)
Remember having this Hungarian kid living with me for afew months and that’s when I learned how awesome goulash was
In old school Dwarf Fortress, the only way to easily read the oftentimes weird 'history' is using the the 3rd party Legends Viewer tool.
10:09 : “I need to sleep because I’m about to get into a conflict” same dude, same
Wow, this is heavily changed from the first game. Not just an evil spirit taking a body over and trying to fully reincarnate and destroy the world.
Yeah, I bought the first game when it was really early in development on itch io. Never really followed the updates & kind of forgot about it. But this looks pretty awesome.
>"you can do basically anything"
>can't leave islands
Facts. That is only acceptable in dwarf fortress. This game is just a copy of DF, notice how many times he says: "... like dwarf fortress" lmao
"Property is determined by proximity."
I think merchants of a family share an inventory, but I don't know for sure.
Holy shit someone finally made a simpler unreal world
It's a more accessible version of Finnish cult game "UnReal World." This is to UnReal World as Rimworld is to Dwarf Fortress.
While i can see the similarities, i don't think that the comparison gives the real props for this game.
UnReal World has a really deep hunting, trapping and leather processing mechanics, seasons and deep interaction but i think the game kinda lacks things to do with other humans, you can't really have deep relationships with the populace of the world.
@@CoqueiroLendario unreal world with a clan building system similar to the survivor camp system in cataclysm but with having babies being like having extra lives is my forever game
@@dickyboi4956 I've tried to get into UnReal world but the ui, mechanics and overhaul gameplay just feels so old and outdated. Any tips on how to get into the game at the beginning without it feeling like shit?
It's repetitive and gets boring quickly
@@CoqueiroLendario
I'd argue that that's somewhat analogous to how your dwarves end up being faceless cogs in comparison to a Rimworld character whose quirks and traits have to be accounted for in everything.
Hey Amphibian, I don't know if you read these especially on VODs, but I just want to reassure you that the Kenshi/Kenshi-like content is always amazing. Not completely sure how to put it into words but I think the extra effort it takes to make a story out of it, really adds to the experience. You know, trying to put it into words, your stories and especially your crazier 'trying to make content out of nothing' stories are really what keep me watching and appreciating your content. Recent stuff in my life has made me appreciate just how difficult it is to do, so from me to you: you help me smile and you help me find inspiration from the mundane and for all this and so much more, thank you!
It's funny, but I feel like this game updates so fast that he is playing several patches ago, based on one dropping yesterday, and him not even having the one with more races
Mod support makes this game a pretty crazy value in the long run. I did not see anything like this but one that added tons of random encounters would be pretty awesome. I'm sure that will come in the future.
This really reminds me of Caves of Qud gameplay
Correct! Each chest you see in a building is actually called a "stash", and acts as a shared inventory for that family
Nice! Bought this when it first came out (I'm a fan of the first one too) and I'm glad to see it get some show time!
This game really feels a lot like Elona/Elin with how everything is turn based and with how things like the UI and interactions in the world are. In my eyes at least
You mentioned a few times about the difficulty of sustaining food. The mechanic becomes pretty inconsequential after a little bit (unfortunately!) Which makes sense, of course, because it's a land abundant with forest, and very few settlements. Either way, you just need to be cooking your meat. Oddly enough, uncooked meat isn't the best. Find a campfire in a town to cook, or figure out how to make a fire yourself! Getting like a small stack of 40 (cooked) meat will keep you going for quite a while.
Very true. I downloaded the demo last night and played for a couple hours and I was struggling for food until I wiped out a fish man village and came back with 60 fish meat lmao.
Also, tip for new players. Take the adventuring skill at the start, it allows you to start the game with a knife and water skin. Knife allows you to butcher corpses for meat and water skins let you carry 150 units of water each. Once you learn the game you'll know how to find that stuff on your own and can start with different skills, but until then it's crucial for survival.
this looks a little like cataclysm, tbh.
I'll take your whole stock.
Btw, the 'jump off the ledge to level up' thing is reminiscent of earlier ES games and probably a holdover from RPGs of that era -- I like that method of leveling up, personally, because it fits my worldview better (do X to get better at X).
I mean doing exercise by climbing up and jumping off a ledge is an actual real world way of "levelling up" athletics 😂
@@htspencer9084 Yes! That's precisely why I prefer it!
Im searching for games with this lvl up mechanic, if you know of some other games pls let me know
@@Naethplays
"The Bloodline" on steam. It's $20 full price and being made by one guy so it's early access and pretty buggy atm, but I still put a couple hundred hours in it easy lol. Updates like once or twice a month.
@@Dubmentia Thanks, i have it already on my wishlist, any other game that comes to your head just put it here. I crave for games with this kind of mechanics.
Would love to see more. Thanks for playing.
I love this! I hope there's more to come.
Heck Yes! Im sleeping well tonight!
Thank you AA for everything. I know you've heard it before, but i truly sleep better, and have a better day when you release new content.
May your days be filled with the joy and happiness you create for all of us here
when i saw people training with a body on their shoulder in kenshi i'm like "shut up and take my money"😂
i got this game a few weeks ago already got like 100 hours
I like SoulAsh, a nice take om the "rogue-like" in the broad sense.
Game breaks when you realize you can sell cooked meat for twice the price you can buy it for.
splattercat was one of my OG gaming content creators glad amphibian also enjoys his game spotlights. always a treat
So this is kinda like a fantasy medieval catalysm ..... nice.
Its like magiclysm with without the guns, and low monster spawns in a sense.
Would like to see a full series of this.
The first game was pretty fun hopefully this one really expands on that
great video! game reminds me of CDDA
REPTILIAN?! I already had my eyes on this game, but now I NEED IT.
I like pineapple pizza with pepperoni and hot sausage. The sweet/hot combo is one of my faves.
And now I'm hungry.
Oh, I like ALL of those words in the description. Let's do this.
Booking this for later just based on the title combo of Kenshi and Dwarf Fortress. Gives me some CCDA vibes with the tile set too.
Awesome game but going to sprites from portraits would add so much.
Yes the sprites is the first game we're a lot nicer
This does look the Dwarf Fortress adventure mode I always wished I had. It feels smoother, faster and not as clunky compared to good ole DF.
Definitely going to binge this once there's more content - I see that a popular complaint is how empty the world is right now.
I want more of this
I'm guessing steam. I need to get a PC or laptop, consoles ain't cutting it no more.
Splat is awesome. Looks better than the first so far
Soulash 1 was pretty good, but was heavily tied to its plot so it was much less replayable imo, since you were a reborn old god seeking to recover their power, so the world would be aggro on you from like day 1.
This sequel is doing a lot to make the game flexible and open ended so you can do what you wish, be it go murderhobo like last one, or be a hero, or whatever else.
Would still recommend trying 1, its fun.
Did he ever figure out that he can modify his abilities with the Amplifiers and the slots in the abilities?
Let's see more of this
workout montage with a corpse lmao
Love splattercat!
Feels like a bit of a more coherent caves of qud, with a proper set theme versus... Whatever qud is.
Stanima? Wasn't that a hit song in 1984?
What a crazy coincidence. I literally just bought this on steam the other day but have yet to play it. Hopefully this will inform me on if that was a good purchase or not as I have also yet to watch this video
Vod time!
They made a 2!? I haven’t even got number one yet :(
Stashes require 2x wood, was that 0x resources just recently patched out?
That's what happened with my first bandit camp... oh sh*t oh sh*t oh sh*t.
Just started the other day, doing a Hunter/Thieving/Adventurer. The run & shoot cheese is really great and adds a lot of suspense and thought, but keeps you out of harms way w/ enough arrows (which usssually are recoverable).
Running a very high dex setup w/ all my ordered armor sporting owl feathers (+1) from owlmen villages, and aim to start pickpocketing towns soon.
Honestly, I'm not entirely sure dex has helped me dodge, or rather "Parry" attacks, but it ups the damage of BOTH bow and dagger (dagger is a loose term, they have kukris & kamas as well).
I usually find fishmen, xyzmen, etc villages and get food from butchering them lol.
Wood needs to be "crafted" into firewood, then the firewood be "Salvaged" iirc.
I'm still a noob, but it's been a neat game so far, and def has a reasonable learning curve.
I love this game so much.
Finally the Frog dicoverse this Early access gem
This is the content I live for.
Soulash 1 was aight, I enjoyed it for a bit, though I wasn't creative enough..
Or maybe autistic...
To totally figure it all out lol.
So let's see how the sequel is!
complains about stamina
puts all points into strength
The real question is when will see Torsoulo?
THE SPLATTERCATGAMING IS REAL
Also, would like to see more of this game.
You hooked me at Pelosi Mancy... sub'd LOL!!!
This game is soo fun!
Can you become a pirate in this? I want to be a mighty pirate!
"The moss men are faster than me so I rather not fight too many as I cannot run"
*repeats every time see's moss men*
"I'm going to run away from this moss man when I have 22hp cuz I mayswell just be shanked up the ass instead of fighting"
>.> If you cannot run away from it cuz it's fast and you know it's fast... Fight it xD You running lost you 10hp and almost killed you
YEAAAHHHH WE LOVE SPLATTERCAT!!!
Love this game!
Needs way more sandbox content
I really hope they add character sprites. It’s the only thing stopping me playing this rn
Castle of the winds, but he grew up hot... amped as hell
Doesn't look half bad :D
Stanima do doo dododo ah stanima do dodo doo. Ah stanima do doo dodo do doododoo doododoo duh da duh da duh duh duhduh da.
35:03 Baelin? ;D
Love this game. 200+ hours easy
oh this reminds me of Kingsway
DWARF FORTRESS MENTIONED, MY HAIRS HAVE BEEN ERECTED :O
Love the demo but unfortunately I can’t afford it
nice game.
Amphibian you gotta check out Moonring
Have they dropped little avatars yet or am i still a little bubble man
AA have you tried Cave of Qud? it is a really intresting Dwarf Fortress clone
Kinda reminds me of caves of qud
WOOOOOOOOOOOO
Soulash 2, A Soulash-Like/Kenshi-Like/Dwarf Fortress-Like/Open-Like/World-Like/R-Like/P-Like/G-Like/Videogame-Like
We got df adventurer mode before the actual steam df. Savage
UnReal World is an older, more developed version of this sort of game if you want something like that. Been around a long time.
Jumping off things would realistically improve your skillset. That's just basic training. You don't get better at gymnastics by reading a book - you do the thing over and over and learn a little bit every time.
I played the original soulash, it was niche and so incredibly slow to play that not many people got through it. Most classes were not viable and the cheese was immense but if you learned it, screw you it was still a slog. Interesting story though and I enjoyed it for the grind a bit.
The premise is so introduction, but the coins' character thing is disappointing
the vision system seems sadly super annoying to me
You get used to it. There are a couple of ways to boost vision as well
We need 4090 gtx for the latest games, meanwhile.
The latest games 😏
Loved soulash one i think the characters lost some appeal now they are tokens over sprites but you now need to use your imagination a bit more.
AA is the rimworld wild person that wanders onto your map to eat your berries
How. Do. You. Save. Am I stupid? I've been pulling out my hair trying to figure out just how to save my progress
Game saves automatically every turn I think
Sounds like a dwarf fortresse copy completely... but is it free though? DF the best, always will be
If you think this looks cool, check out Caves of Qud
Does it have multiplayer?
Perfect, just in time for my nap
Swag 😎
stuff like this game or dwarf fortress are mobilized autism
