What got me really hooked was the moments on the Field where you had to do things very specific to interact with things on the world. A found a manhole that I could not open, but noticed 3 Nodes that I had to power. I tried using thunder spells but I had to activate them all at eh same time. I was confused in how, and thought I had to level up a specific class for its AoE thunder, until I decided to Look at the trees. Upon reading, it says that the trees can catch on fire, but in return it'll combust violent and cause a electrical explosion around it. 3 evenly spaced nodes. 1 Tree in the middle. Oh My God. xD
I found the vid and remembered I already had it in my wishlist so I went and bought it instead of watching the video because I didn't want to be spoiled (-w-) I came back to the video 18 hours of gameplay later and you've done a great job on keeping it spoiler free :o
I was going to buy Dragon Quest XI S but unfortunately for some reason the developers decided to not include Japanese interface or subtitles into Western Regions for the game. So now I'm feeling super "salty" and will rather buy something else that looks very wholesome even if it is in English. Thanks for the review Mr Scurvy.
This game was less similar to New Horizons than it was similar to what my eleven year old imagination was hoping New Horizons would be on the ride back from the rental place.
They retained a gripper-digit on their feet for hanging on to branches but lack one in their hands due to their primary form of locomotion - that being forming their four fingers into a hook shape and swinging between branches. The short of it is that this sort of evolution happened because their thumbs kept getting in the way of this movement technique.
I love it when youtube randomly suggests to me a channel like yours. All hail the mighty algorithm!
Please stick a TH-cam algorithm comment on every single TH-cam video.
Horizons Gate is a wonderful game and I really am glad to see more people talking about it

Thanks for coming back to watch the video!
Nice, I've always wondered about this game and now I'm sold on it to try.
Would love to see a full playthrough of Horizon's Gate.
If I made a game half as good as this, I could die happy

Very cool looking game! Check out Sailing Era if you like these kinds of titles! I prefer pirate themed fantasy as well, Krakens and Cutlasses!
Sailing Era is definitely on my list!
Fine, I'll play Horizon's Gate for the 10th time!
Seriously, this is one of my favorite games of all time.
@@harperthejay I absolutely agree!
Any plans to play Kingsvein? No pirates in it sadly
If a spider monkey doesn't have thumbs... does it have another gripper-digit?
Otherwise how can you monkey without thumbs?

Would you recommend using the Prominence mod pack on a first game or is it better for a second playthrough ? Thanks !
I'd say it's probably fine to use it during an initial playthrough, though the amount of additional content could prove to be confusing.
I got this and it’s great
Amazing game!
