    Does the trainer controller need to be synced with the RX on the flying model i.e a drone?

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm guessing you mean 'bound' to the model? No, it doesn't.

    Hi Lee just set up trainer mod on my Taranis x9d plus after watching your video , does the master need to be bound to the receiver or the slave check a few other videos and no one mentions it. Cheers Pete

      Master bound the RX in model as normal. Student radio bound the master radio... Happy flying

    Please take a look at JumperTX and the T16. I have been trying to setup trainer but it seems to be not working. There is no trainer menu. There is a special function for trainer but it has no effect.

    Can you also use channels higher without using the 1to4? I want to use only the gimbal channels on the trainer and my drone control channels to keep them on the master remote.

    The problem I see with how you set it up for the extra channels is that they were summing with the local radio. This means the master radio still has effect and could counter that of the slave. I think a better option would have been to add the slave inputs into the Inputs screen and have it as the top item in the list so that you can have it be a replacement when trainer switch is active.

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      By selecting the control you want with a switch it doesn't work like that. Try it and see. Happy flying!

    Something I'd love to know is how to get the trims on the student radio the same as the master. In an ideal world they would be mechanically centred on the plane. Reality is though that I often have to do some trimming after taking off on the master radio - which then doesn't reflect to the trainee radio. Then I have to land and get the student radio and eyeball match the trims and double check the surfaces on the plane don't move when I flick the trainer switch. Pain in the backside. Does anyone have any tips or tricks for avoiding this?

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I only used the way you describe - painful but works.. If you find a better way please let me know..

      @@Painless360 Hi Lee, I've had a bit of a fiddle and I think I've got it working! It's a bit ugly, but it works (or at least as far as I could tell on the bench). So instead of using the trainer set up on the special functions screen you have to manually do it in the mixes - just as you did in this video with the channels 5 and above. Then you can just add another mix to each channel (after the "replace" mix from the trainer channel) with an "add" with source of the trim channel for the appropriate stick. Make sure you set the weight to the correct direction (positive/negative) and for this model I had extended trims which seem to be +/- 25, so set the metric to 25. Do this to any and all channels you want, and you're away! Bit of work, but will be so much nicer knowing I'm giving control with a plane that is in trim!

    Call me a newb, but can someone clarify that the trainer cable is a mini jack stereo cable or are they different? I'm considering getting another cheap tx that I could link to my qx7 and since I have stereo cables I could save a few bucks if its correct.
