    Very helpful video thank you. The close up on the black and green ground was all I really needed. There are common forums online where people wire they're grounds to the dimmer which causes light issues in the cab. Had no idea that was the factory ground. Thank you

      If you had the factory amplified system, sometimes when removing the factory radio, you have to be sure your balance and fader are set to center. You could have bad speakers, there still may be a wiring issue, etc. It could be a few things.

    because when you do the video you do not show where each cable goes, one by one, step by step they teach, but I think you do not want to teach how they connect

    I have installed my new Car Hifi Radio Din 1 and it works well, but I have now the two wires left, in violet and white, which are pluged-in at the original radio p04704383ah from Chrysler at the left side (white plug-in). You can see it at 4:04 on the videoclip. What are those two wires in violet and white for? I also have left the brown and black wire, which are on a black plug-in, also see at 4:04 on top, fixed on the metall. I guess those are to ground it. Right?

    If I put a newer radio in my 99 durango, will I have to rewire a harness? Or is that just because you maybe used a different DIN type? I was looking to get a new radio but was hoping it would just be a quick plug and play.

    Quick question. I have a a 2000 Club Cab. Now that I've got this stereo in, it plays pretty good for a while but then the deck basically restarts...like it loses power for a second. Some days it will do nothing but flash on and off. This Dakota has a factory equipped Infinity system in it. What can I do to fix this or what may I be doing wrong. Thanks in advance.

    • @DontDodgeIt...RamIt...Dammit.
      @DontDodgeIt...RamIt...Dammit. 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I guess I should have put more details in there. All the factory wiring is still intact. The deck is a Pioneer X5710HD with the adapter harness. Although the harness didn't mention Infinity. But I read a trick on the internet to get sound through the system I had to twist 2 of the wires together. I'd had have to look to see which 2. But Along with the factory system I also have an amp and sub of my own in the back. It all seems to work fine until the deck reboots. I feel like I'm overloading something somewhere. Thanks.

  • @BigMan7o0

    ok, so I have the kit and a head unit (no steering wheel controls though) my question is as follows: for replacing my factory 2000 Dakota head unit do I take both wire sets from the kit and literally just color match with the piece that came with my head unit, or is there anything else I need to do. I just want to be 100% sure that I dont fuck something up.
    also, I dont have an external amp right now, but I would *like* to essentially bypass the current subs and wire it to my own sub running off of whatever power it gives it stock, since one of the stock subs is mostly blown. is that at all possible or will that just cause havoc?
    EDIT: and yes I know these are probably dumb questions, but I dont know much about actually wiring this stuff, and I am 18 I cant afford to fuck something big up somehow

    I just added a Raptor RP-CDM3 cd player to my 1999 Dodge Dakota R/T with the original Infinity sound system. It sounds good but I didn't remember there was a separate plug for the steering wheel controls so mine aren't working. The plug that came with the Raptor CD player only had red,black,yellow,blue,white,white/black,grey,grey/black,green,green/black,violet,violet/black and there was a brown wire that wasn't used in the connector to the original radio plug as well as a couple other. Will the ASWC1 still hook up to this CD player? I hate not having my steering wheel controls.

    • @ProvoBeastAudio
      @ProvoBeastAudio  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      As far as i can tell, your Raptor radio is not steering wheel control compatible. Unfortunately, you would have to upgrade your radio to one compatible with the ASWC-1.

    Do think of the SWI-X interface might work? It says it will work with aftermarket radios that don't have the blue/yellow wire but do have a remote control which this Raptor does. By the way, in your video did you hook up the orange illumination wire to anything or the dimmer wire to anything? There were those and 1 other wire that didn't match up to anything on the Raptor's wiring harness. If all this doesn't work out I plan on getting the factory unit fully refurbished.

    • @ProvoBeastAudio
      @ProvoBeastAudio  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The SWI-X module works as long as your Raptor came with an aftermarket report for the radio. Worth a shot. If your radio didn't have the orange or orange / white wire, just tape them off.

    • @ProvoBeastAudio

      Sounds like you have the factory amplified system, you need to hook up the blue solid wire on the wiring harness adapter to the blue/white wire on your radio. This will trigger the factory amp to be on all the time, regardless of the input source you are using.

    Is that a kit with the deck that helps it fit?. I just got my pioneer deck and It doesn't fit and I am unsure about what to use. Conversion kit?.

      All the parts we used are listed in the description. The Metra Kit we used fits all single din stereos.

    So that one small black wire that was hooked to the metal case. What is that for and where would you wire it too.

    • @ProvoBeastAudio
      @ProvoBeastAudio  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thats your ground Adam, make sure you connect your Radio's black wire to that wire.

      Provo Beast Audio Installation I did what you said and it works perfect now. Next is to figure how to run a sub off the original amp😁

    • @ProvoBeastAudio
      @ProvoBeastAudio  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wouldn't run a sub off the factory amplifier, just pick up an aftermarket one cheap and install it to ensure you can provide the power required by your aftermarket subwoofer.

      Provo Beast Audio Installation well I already bought a box with a built in amp but when it arrived it has a spot for a harness which it didn't come with. Also I have no idea how I would run wire to it without the harness

      check ebay for that harness

    What does the orange wire connect to

    • @ProvoBeastAudio
      @ProvoBeastAudio  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Orange wire is generally the illumination / Dimmer wire. If your radio does not have it equipped, just tape it off.

  • @zr0d5

    Where does the amp turn on wire go?

    • @ProvoBeastAudio
      @ProvoBeastAudio  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      to the blue wire if you have the amplified system. If not, just cap it off.

    I plug everything in and hear speaker feedback but the display doesn't light up? Is there anyway to make sure my headunit isn't fried?

    • @ProvoBeastAudio
      @ProvoBeastAudio  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Recheck all your connections again, test with another radio, etc.

    • @rennmartin3579
      @rennmartin3579 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I put a new headunit in, it lights up correctly and everything, but theres no sound unless the radio cord isn't plugged in. In that case, it just buzzes.

    • @ProvoBeastAudio
      @ProvoBeastAudio  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      You may have the amplified version or the infinity version. Be sure the blue wire in your wiring harness adapter is hooked up to your radio's blue / white wire.

    • @rennmartin3579
      @rennmartin3579 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      My radio only has a blue wire that is labeled power antenna

    • @ProvoBeastAudio

      then tie in the wiring harness blue wire to your radio's red wire.

    I have no sound, where does the blue amp wire from radio harness go to

    • @ProvoBeastAudio
      @ProvoBeastAudio  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      That blue wire needs to be hooked up to the blue / white wire on the radio. This triggers the factory amp to turn on.

    • @Jbrown99th
      @Jbrown99th 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Provo Beast Audio Installation that's what I thought, I connect the blue wire from the harness adapter to the blue wire from the radio harness and I still have no sound at all, the radio power up and everything, and old radio works fine. My car is equipped with the infinity system if that makes a difference

    • @ProvoBeastAudio
      @ProvoBeastAudio  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      on the wiring harness adapter (that connects into the car), find the blue or blue white wire. Connect that wire and tie it into the red wire (ignition). This will activate the factory amplifier.

    • @ProvoBeastAudio
      @ProvoBeastAudio  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sometimes the blue wire on the radio is teh amplified antenna and only is on when on the radio setting. changing that wiring configuration will fix your issue.

    • @Jbrown99th
      @Jbrown99th 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Provo Beast Audio Installation this is really a pain, I don't have sound on any function of the radio, the blue wire from the harness adapter is connected to the blue of radio harness, I've even tried put the blue from the black harness adapter to the red acc and still nothing. Is it possible for me to jump the amp relay pin 87 with another acc fuse

      I have the infinity sound ... so factory amp ???

    • @ProvoBeastAudio
      @ProvoBeastAudio  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sounds like you may have the factory amplified version which in that cause, you need to hook up the amplifier turn on wire to trigger the factory amp to boot up. If you use a wiring harness adapter, you will need to connect the solid blue wire on the adapter to your radio's blue/white wire.

    • @ProvoBeastAudio
      @ProvoBeastAudio  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, you will need to hook up the solid blue wire to either the radio's blue/white wire or the red wire. This will trigger the amp to turn on .

    What did you do with the orange wire on the gray plug in adapter?

    • @ProvoBeastAudio
      @ProvoBeastAudio  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is generally either illumination wire or dimmer wire. If your radio doesn't have an orange or orange / white wire, just cap that off, it wont be needed.

    • @michaelh6248
      @michaelh6248 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Provo Beast Audio Installation we cant the thing to get it to work something is wrong

    • @ProvoBeastAudio
      @ProvoBeastAudio  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sounds like a wiring issue. I would use a multi-meter and test to make sure you have a good ground (black), constant power (yellow), and switched power (red)

      @michaelh6248 7 ปีที่แล้ว
