My only real gripes (and they're nitpicky) are the column shifter blocks some critical parts of the center display when in Drive, and the wiper control is really lame. Ram has less front and rear legroom and less shoulder room. Smaller beds, ancient transmissions and the cad is from 2009 and in crosswinds you will understand what’s that’s not a good thing. On top of the near $20k higher price they struggle more to climb grades because of the transmissions. All these things put together explains why rams sales are down big time this year.

Trucks performed well once towed a 10k trailer with 2500lbs of steel in the bed at 80mph for 100miles only thing I didn’t like about them was the fuel mileage and the 6 speed transmission. Not that the transmission was bad just needed more gears to stay in the power. In 2024 GM changed that with the 10 speed. I averaged 11-12mpg unloaded but I have a lead foot. 5-6mpg with a trailer. I had a gas ram 2500 from 2016 the unloaded mileage was about 10mpg same with a trailer. Also had an 18 Cummins I put 110k miles on. I’ll never have another ram.

  • @jayb7675
    @jayb7675 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    When I go to GMC dealerships they have rows of used Rams for sale..all trade-ins. The average truck buyer does not tow on a daily basis. They want a comfortable ride and a clean look. The RAM may be more functional, but the GMC looks, 10 speed, and independent front end is what “most” truck buyers want. And let’s be honest, most women would pick the GMC over the Dodge and yes that does matter to some. And let’s talk about dependability. The Allison will out last the Rams transmission. Doesn’t matter how great the engine is if the transmission goes out. Last, price. RAMs way overpriced.

  • @shawnwilson5789
    @shawnwilson5789 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Ram definitely has the better engine but needs to update the transmission to at least an eight speed and bigger cab. Their crew cab size has not been updated in years and ford and gmc is out doing ram at inside cab space. Also Ram and ford needs to increase the gvw like gmc to increase their payload capacity

    Good video JB. I really like the looks of both trucks. I would be happy to drive either. Judging by some of the comments the GM fanboys seem to be narrow minded. To say the Ram is outdated & junk is just not very educated. I have a 21 Limited Longhorn MegaCab with the HO Cummins & Aisin. I use it as a daily driver & to tow our 40’ fifth wheel. Does great at both. Transmission is smooth once you learn it & it learns you. Love the growl of the Cummins & the untouchable exhaust break. Tremendous room for me, 6’3” 265 & incredible room in the back for passengers. The factory air smooths out ride quality which is incredible on the highway. Can be a little jarring on back roads. Love the air for towing. You can see it adjust as you raise to support legs of the trailer. If I could afford both trucks I’d own both. But for me it comes down to the look of that Ram front end, the Cummins & the safety of the exhaust break. And the Ram ltd LH definitely has the best interior of HD trucks

It’s no surprise that the CEO of Ford came out last year and said that it would take a long time to fix the quality control issues that Ford has ignored for years.

    The in-line 6 is objectively better balanced. The power concaves are objectively better. The airbags may be objectively better, but are sometimes prone to failure. The exhaust brake is objectively stronger.
    Everything else you said about the Ram was strong opinion! You said “I don’t care what you think, this console is better”… this is only one of many subjective opinions you offered. That’s not super helpful besides letting everyone know which things you like better. It’s better when you actually compare things, not only on one trip, but in several different ways.

    Yeah, I guess You could say at the very top trim levels, Ram might be a little better. But I would argue, that for Us Average Joes, that will probably buy a lower trim level. I respectfully disagree. I could literally buy one trim package higher, (LTZ loaded), than the Ram Bighorn for almost the same price. The payload on the GM was higher, almost 4000lbs. Let’s not even talk about what a joke the Ram 2500’s are when it comes to payload. Now I love the Cummins engines too, but an engine isn’t much without a transmission, and unless You’re a Hotshot Trucker, that tows everyday, the GM and Ford 10 speed transmissions are a much better tool, for all-around drivability. The standard box on the Ram is the smallest in segment. I do use My truck to haul things, and with a crew cab, a long box really makes in-town driving/parking a pain. The GM is a good compromise with Their longer standard box. With those standard box vehicles, the GM has a larger fuel tank and DEF tank, not much larger, but larger. I think You’re just trying to stir the pot, and get Your post count up!

      First time I touched the interior door handle on the highly coveted “limited “ ram I felt like it was gonna snap off in my hand. Felt like one of those hollow chocolate Easter bunnies. You know what I am talking about when you take a bite the whole thing shatters . That’s the quality I felt in the ram.

    Oh come on JB stop acting like you're a Ram Fanboy anymore. You have a not 1 but, 2 Chevy 3500 HD's trucks. 😂😂😂😂 I like the interior of both Ram and the GM trucks. Not much if anything has changed with Ford HD trucks. To bad you can't get a 50 gallon fuel tank, airbags on the GM trucks. It is also to bad you can't get an Allison transmission with the Cummins or a 10 spd transmission on the Ram. Nice comparison of both trucks Brother.

    GM has narrowed the look and feel of their interiors but RAM is still ahead (what is Ford doing besides nothing), way ahead. Looking at the Denali you have in the video, the wheels, they really caught my attention and not in a good way. I know it is subjective but really, the wheels look like something off a circus clown car. Am I the only one thinking that?
    As far as the engines, they are so close in power (Ford included) it would not influence my decision. What would really influence my decision is the cost of ownership over time and file milage. I tow under 17K pounds.

  • @Jolty

    Ram may initially “look” nicer in interior (your option) and that all goes away with the cheap plastic feel and materials used. GMC is a better overall truck hands down. For years ram had built very poor quality that comes to light avout 60k miles with issues sqeaks rattles and door sag.

    Given the trends, I’m willing to bet the next generation of GMCs will have 7’ tall grilles. Thing is absolutely hideous and the lines of the truck have about as much creativity as a Honda pilot: designers started with a big box then GMC says,”STOP RIGHT THERE! It’s perfect!”

I’ve seen MULTIPLE “reviews” that you’ve done where you somehow find the high end RAM model but for some reason you can’t find a comparable high end Chevy, GMC, Ford. This is nothing but a RAM Fanboy propaganda channel.

      You're either blind or your willingly ignorant.
      The guy has over a dozen 2024 Denali videos on his channel and you can literally search up "VS" and find just about every comparison between RAM and GM/Chevy is on equal footing; the Denali "Ultimate" is a new trim level that's above Denali which is equal to RAM's Limited trim so don't think about making that bogus claim, and Ford only just started delivering trims above Lariat for their newer HD line-ups, you can do the research yourself, they couldn't even honor all the 2023 Limited buyers.

    Denali fake leather versus true leather. Soak Ram leather with chemical guys' leather cushion ointment. It feels better and looks better than leather. Leather dashboard, You can smell the leather getting into the truck a Ram. Not GMC! GMC leather feels horrible, even with the leather lotion applied. GMC fake wood!

    • @MZZHZZWZZ
      @MZZHZZWZZ ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Nothing fake about the Denali leather. In fact the Denali Ultimate takes it one step further and uses full-grain leather seats (full-grain is considered the highest quality leather available). Also nothing fake about the wood. Both the Denali and Denali Ultimate use authentic, open-pore wood. Denali Ultimate goes one step further with laser etched open-pore Paldao wood.
