i stopped playing mbtl for a bit but ive been having so much fun with ushi man i remembered how great this game is! thanks for the guide i cant wait to play her more
The crossup mixes looks fun as hell! her kit itself is so fun to mess around with, what with teleporting everywhere and confuse myself which side I was on lol. I was struggling with using the mission combos but the combos in the video looks fun to do. Thank you for the video and I hope everyone have much fun with melty blood
Glad you found it useful! If the combos are a bit tough you could make them easier by just doing 5A > 5B > 3C after 236AC in the routes. For the conversions and 5BB > 214B > 214C for the ground conversions. You will be sacrificing a bit of damage but consistency and scoring the knockdown is the most important thing.
I think it's also worth mentioning that while her auto combo pushes her back on block, it's usually not safe if the opponent has enough range to hit you. I like to always do the 236A teleport after a blocked string because Ushi is considered airborne by the end of her auto combo, and the tp cancels the animation where she jumps back, making her "less negative" (don't have the framedata) and allowing me to block a punish
Just bought this game a few days ago on Steam, I started with Ushi and dang does she have a lot of aggressive and evasive mixups. I've been mostly starting slow with the grounded normals part of your guide which lead me to rebeats. Her rebeats aren't like most that ive seen in footage so I just do in training mode what works: most characters can still hit block from heavy to medium but ushi, some attacks launch too far lol. I thought to myself, wait she don't have an overhead on block, naw she does. Its that 236b on one of the hits.
Finally going back to MBTL because of ushi, I know some combos that I lab but i want more, Thanks for the guide I cant wait to think some more moves with her cause these combos are SICK!
I'm playing Them's Fightin' Herds, and it's a fun game. I love Ushi in this game too, and Shanty reminds me of her a lot. Also Texas is amazing and funny. You should try the game out sometime!
I actually have that game back from when everyone bought it because it was an evo online title. It has some really good ideas in it as far as it’s content package and it’s tutorial is OD.
@DaikenFGC It was free on the Epic Games store yesterday, I advertised as much as possible. It's got crossplay and rollback, and does it as good as, if not better (cuz of the way the game runs), than Strive.

I just bought Melty Blood wanting to play a new fighting game and thought this character looked cool Is she beginner friendly or more on the technical side?
I heard shes one of the hardest to use, I started maining her a few days after I bought the game. You can learn anybody at beginner level. Its about the time commitment usually of why some characters are more recommended than others. I know exactly why ushi is gonna take a while as soon as I saw her tools.
Bro.. BRO!! I can understand speaking fast enough to normal-cancel the end of a word.. But how tf are you super-cancelling the beginning of words too!?
I know this comment super late but is that sjc.C > j.2C done instantly after the 623a. ? Or is the timing not super strict? Struggling to get that part of the combo down.

When it comes to melty blood, you are my go to for guides. You make it super easy to follow.

Good vid. Didnt know 236C could be jump canceled. Jump cancel on block is always useful for pressure.

These combos kinda sick. I love the full screen super that can punish beams!
I didn't even think to combo her diagonal teleporting with the throws at the end of air combos. That's some scary shit.

You can continue a combo after 214c super with a 5c and continue the combo
Proration on those combos wouldn’t allow for that to be meaningful even if possible. Maybe on a shorter route that could be useful
