Why this isn't in the games tutorial is beyond me...i know this has been a thing since the beginning but it makes no sense as to why it's not explained in game.
answered all my questions. didnt stray from the point or try to add goofy jokes. just straight forward. THIS is what a guide should look like. thanks man!
DUDE‼️‼️ for real💯 if you didn't get any credit for this , take my word as a fighting gamer since I was born. this was very much appreciated and I didn't understand Tekken at all, but now I can enjoy it because I see what's going on. you're the best man. no cap💯
can you make a guide to go over recovery options when you are being cornered and backed up against a wall, and/or they keep hitting when you attempt to recover?
Thanks great video. Kazuya has a mid kick that flips me even if i just lay on the ground and he can keep spamming it. I try rolling but cant ever seem to escape it 😢
A WHIFF is basically a swing that misses. Used for baseball, golf, fighting games, etc. (term origin-wise it refers to the gust of wind from a missed swing; like say, a missed punch). That said, In fighting game lingo, WHIFF is an is important term/situation because if you attack (swing) and miss, you still have recovery frames, but you did not hit your opponent so they have neither hit stun nor block stun, meaning they have MORE time to react to your missed attack (in most cases). WHIFF PUNISH is when you hit an opponent while they are recovering from a whiffed attack. Tekken 8 will even show you if you punish an attack. Which is SPECIFICALLY when you hit someone while they are still recovering from their move. (A whiff punish is a type of punish. The game will say "PUNISH". You will know if it is a whiff punish based on whether the attack connected or not.)
@@taliclair530 lol. It's not my guide. I'm learning too! But if you're like me, you wanna know all of the mechanics and intricacies. I started to make the joke that a whip punish is when you misbehave and your dad gets his belt 😂
@@TMoney-wt1cwHey there! Can you actually explain why holding up is better than just back? Do you get up quicker? I know I’ve been told to hold up in certain scenarios, like at the wall, but rarely remember. I typically just do back because it feels like the safest, but let me know what I’m doing wrong!
@@spacebarvideoproductions against some characters’s ridiculous Oki attacks like Kazuya and Jin, only way to avoid is hold up instead of back, or tech roll sometimes. I assume it’s because if you hold back there’s a split second where you can take damage during your roll, whereas if you hold up, your character just stands straight up.

This deserves way more likes than it has. Answered every question I had about the wakeup system.

3:53 found the editing mistake! Haha nice guide! Thanks for these options!
Haha it happens! Watched this like 5 times granted at like 4AM... lol
Didn’t really seem like an edit mistake. He corrected what he was going to say lol

You have the same options. You have to wait until your character is laying down, it just takes longer when you're against a wall.

Same wish I knew how to get out of it.
