Should you get the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9, Galaxy Tab S9+ and Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra or go for an Apple iPad Pro tablet? I prefer the flexibility and ease of use of the Tab S9. The iPad is still too locked down. I use Dex when I need to be productive, and tablet mode when needed. I do have a iPad Mini 5. Other than the form factor and performance, it has poor battery life, a dim display and overheats in hot and humid weather. I also have the Z Flip 5 which integrates well with the Tab S9.
Having the two of them... with Apple you got to pay extra and way too much for: The Pen (not included), pencil hover "novelty" (with Samsung has been present for years), extra RAM, extra storage, good quality sound, 120Hz, brighter screen, etc. Moreover, the Apple pencil sucks (Come on, 130 bucks for outdated technology? It has been untouched for more than 4 years now) and is so unconfortable to use, give it a try to the S pen and you will never look back at the Apple pencil. Apple Notes is trash if you are a serious note-taker (writing two words on a screen does not account as serious note-taking). Please guys, be exigent, you are giving them your hard-earned money, and being fanboys is just stupid. Samsung is improving year after year, Apple has been in a confort zone for years now, our fault.
i'm iPad Pro M2 user but what you said is so true. Apple is just selling their outdated technology as new. I will never buy iPhone over Samsung. Samsung is giving highest technology with good prices seriously and Android is far better.
M1 iPad Pro user here. Even when it first came out the Apple Pencil was way overpriced. So is the Pencil 2. Up until now. Plus on the iPad itself, etting to 256GB over the default 128GB storage cost way too much. File system is bollocks. Multitasking has gotten better so there's that at least, but Apple will never make anything half as good as Dex because it will eat into Macbook Air sales. Also, my iPad Pro is struggling with Honkai Star Rail at not even the full highest settings. If it weren't for Procreate, this tablet would have been sold on the second-hand market many moons ago.
(Here just looking on in envy at Tab S9 users. Also yes I have tried drawing with the Tab S9/S9+ many times in the Samsung store)
The biggest problem with iPads is that the screen aspect ratio makes watching movies a no go. Then there's the awful restrictions on iOS.
Excellent review and roundup. I agree, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 is a very compelling tablet. The whole Tab S9+ and S9 Ultra is impressive, if not a little pricey, but included in that is a lot of good features. Any idea if any of the S9 keyboard covers will work with the S8 models?
Great video man! Excited for my Tab S9 that got as a Xmas gift for myself.
The longer battery life was what did it for me. Hopping between classes at uni, I don't ever have to look for th seat in class that's next to an outlet. I can go multiple days of taking notes, typing docs, and not worry about it. I'm not doing video editing so there's no real world performance difference for me that would make me jump to the iPad pro. I just don't have a reason to care.

i hope some reviewers will cover more of HDR and dolby vision on devices and whether any of the media does support them or not.
Thanks for the reviews. It's been years since flagship devices can run android games flawlessly. Wouldn't it be more useful to show PS2 or Switch emulation performance in the gaming section instead of PUBG and Asphalt (for android device reviews)? Consider using the same build and games oveer thee year to create a standard. Maybe even a dedicated video on that topic, I'm curious to see how S9+ and S9FE+ compare.

The Galaxy series are really good tablets but I still prefer the iPads for the integration with other Apple products, and the better keyboard accessories.

ello, I currently have a Lenovo Yoga Tab 13 tablet, which may be great, but I mostly use it to watch movies in the car. At night or in the shade it's ok, but when a little sun hits the screen it's worse. I have a question whether the Galaxy S9 plus would be a much better equivalent or maybe only the S9 Ultra. And how do the S8 Plus or S8 Ultra compare to it?
The S8/S9 Plus & Ultras will be a bit better because of their AMOLED screens. But also not soooo much better. If it's bright outside, all displays like to act like a mirror.
I have the iPad Pro 12.9 with the Magic Keyboard. It’s very heavy. Multitasking is honestly hard to use and very much a nuisance to get the windows the way you want. Lots of wasted space in the stage manager view. Floating freely resizable windows would have been much better choice but there Apple trying to avoid being like Windows. I have played with the galaxy tab s9 series at the store extensively and their screens are far better than the iPad. iPad has a yellow hue on the screen and makes things look dull. Almost like a retro filter. You can’t tell how bad it is until you hold it next to a Samsung galaxy AMOLED display. Other than window management, I do prefer the iPad as I work with numbers spreadsheets and pages documents a lot and that software is buttery smooth and very well designed for iPad. Excel on android is janky and the menus are not well thought out. Honestly, other than a few iOS/android only apps, most of the stuff I use would be better done on a laptop and I will be selling my 12.9 iPad Pro and getting the MBA 15”. Screen, keyboard, first rate trackpad and first rate software. Light as well. Perfect package.
What does it matter that Apple tablets have such powerful processors if the company still gimps them? If I'm going to spend several hundred dollars on a device, I want to be able to use it to it's full potential!
I'm a bit late to the party, but I agree... I just started watching videos on tablets and I've been trying to decide on which one to get.. I guess it truly is all about "The brand." From what I've heard, Apple locks you into their ecosystem and it's their way, or no way.. I am not an Apple user, but they're not very flexible, obviously and they're very pricey 😮

I so badly want to get a Galaxy Tab, but the huge performance & future proofing of the iPad Pro is really hard to consider the Galaxy Tab. I really wish the Android silicon was up to par with Apple Silicon.
Man at the end u have to ask urself do u need that much power when most of it is capped by software.......I was and still am confused between both of em but i am leaning towards Samsung more ..The Android is much more flexible than u can ever want all the games till this date runs flawlessly in Android ,video editing can be done quit good in it so over all i think we i am going to buy Samsung .... Apple dosen't even have an amoled screen , a free pen , a good battery life not to mention the notes experience is much better in Samsung..i can watch pirated movies easily on hdo box and in apple u have to pay for most of the shit
@@therightchoice8292 expenses for an ipad are over the roof . First they cost you extra 200$ for a cellular connection . Then you have to pay another 100$ or more for a better storage . Then you would have to spend another 200$ for the apple pencil . Also dont forget that you have to literally pay for every app or anything when you can literally just use a mod version on an android . I would say go for a samsung . I used a samsung tab s6 lite (2020) for over 3 years with extremely heavy use . It stopped working a few days back but i think it is fair cuz there wasn’t a thing that I didn’t do on it lol . That tablet was a monster for its price tag back then . Only flaws of samsung is that their power buttons and volume buttons start to fall out after a several years but you can still glue them back at a repair shop .
Both are future proof, if you want to play casual games and note taking, even the half price Galaxy tab s9 fe does the job

I have the Samsung tab s8 and I emulate the nintendo switch games sometimes a 50 fps and have micro SD card which the iPad clearly can't even do

I just got my 3rd party book cover. It costs only $ 8. I also ordered the original keyboard cover for my Tab S9.
I chose the S9 Plus. It's much better than the others!
Has the size been a problem for you(too big)?
I'm confused with buying s9 or s9 plus,I'll use it mainly in taking notes,the major things I look for is (battery life),(easy portability).
@MohamedGamal-hk3xb Not at all. The S9 Plus is the perfect size for me!!! Battery, speakers, performance, and screen are great. The regular S9 is small, and the Ultra is too big for me.
The 11" Tab S9 battery life is dismal. 3 hours less SOT than the preceding S7 and S8.

Qualcomm needs to step up their game. Heard Snapdragon Gen 3 showing good numbers, and the new Elite X model looks promising.
Thing is though the iPad has a stronger processor, due to the restrictions with apps and the iOS system, you can't get to maximize it's potential, not even halfway

Very nice review however i really want you to compare Tab s9 with ipad pro 11 inch m1 chip 2021 or please be kind and recommend here in comment which one to get my primary use will be gaming and social network apps like Facebook TikTok Instagram whatsapp. I really want to see how apps like TikTok and Instagram looks like on both devices
how about comparing xiaomi tab 6 and iPad Air M1 in real life . I dont see the point of iPad having M series chip except , its cheaper to manufacture for apple. real life meaning sound ,screen , dolby vision , ( samsung refuse to pay dolby for vision ) and battery . most people use tablets for consumption and not for productive stuff .

I'm an Apple user. I have a iPhone, MacBook Pro and an Apple Watch Ultra. But Im still using my trusty Samsung Tab S6. Maybe will be upgrading to Tab S9. I never liked an iPad :)
