    I was just thinking about how I hadn't seen any of your videos in a long time. Glad you posted again. I can't imagine how difficult it is to be in a foreign country learning a profession, taking classes, and also learning the language. You passed your exam on the first try though! So it seems your hard work is paying off.
    Also...can I be friends with your pastry roommates?? I'm jealous of the food they give you ahaha.

      It was an overwhelming experience at first. I had a hard time fitting in culturally and picking up practical words, which sometimes made me feel incapable. But, I've found that all the progress I've been making is truly valuable. Thank you for watching and leaving a supportive comment.

    I'm so glad to see you have posted a new video!:) I was worried because you seemed stressed when you first came to New York and I could only imagine how difficult it must be to live in a new place, especially so far away from home. I hope you are feeling more comfortable, it looks like you're doing well in class. It's nice to see you spend time with friends too - that's very important I think.🌷

      Now that I think of the days back then, I was a bit depressed and scared of everything at first. I believe it was all part of the process to take a step forward, and those experiences were valuable to me. I appreciate your supportive comment. Take care!

    Hi Eungyeong! It is a pleasant surprise hearing from you. Having gone through the experience of a cooking school myself, I have a little bit of an idea, what you are going through. You have formed a tight group that will see you through to the end, that will always be a blessing. I wondered how you felt about food in general, now that you are learning about and cooking, preparing it. I think I noticed it with tasting food, seeing how it's served, first. Second was the cost for dishes, the quality of ingredients and the prices, in the grocery stores. I am still holding up my hands and shouting, FIGHTING!! For You, and Your Classmates, Too!! All the learning is stressful, but somehow you pick it up. I wish you continued success, Take Care!!

      Hi, Robert. I appreciate your kind words. While taking two semesters and working as an intern now, I've got to use some exotic ingredients (which were new to me) and learn basic cooking skills. I feel like it really expanded my perspective on food, in terms of details and presentation, especially with western dishes. I'm still so excited about the rest of the curriculum to grow. Your cheering mean a lot to me. Take care!

      @@euncook Thank you for replying, I am glad you can feel my cheers. All the knowledge and love of creating will only benefit your café in Seoul, Your parent's being in the restaurant business must be proud and curious about your accomplishments!! The next time you see them in person, you will want to cook for each other and share triumphs and failures. Continued enjoyment in all you do, somehow it just all gets absorbed. Take Care.

    I’m curious as to why you came so far to attend culinary school. Don’t they have them in Korea?

    • @euncook
      @euncook  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We have several culinary schools in Korea, but I wanted to go to the CIA. Plus, I've always wanted to live abroad to experience other cultures, especially in terms of food. I thought New York, being such a melting pot, would be the perfect place for my objective.

      @@euncook Okay! I was just wondering. I hope your experience has been mostly positive so far. I’ve enjoyed watching your videos. You made the best sandwiches and salads. They made me want to travel to Korea just to try them. Good luck with your culinary studies!

      and did you find an extern yet? I know the owners of a few great restaurants in Brooklyn - I could ask them if you haven't.
