As someone that wanted a bladeless multitool, and ended up with a modded cybertool lite, I will share my own research. To pass TSA guidelines there are four important things to note. First of all, they might try to stick the "No swiss army knife" rule on you, because of the cross Design on the front. However, TSA guidelines clearly state that you CAN have a multitool in your bag, as long as it doesn't have a knife blade. You will probably want to make a sheath for it to rest inside of to be extra compliant. Second is the scissors. TSA states that you are allowed to have scissors if they are less than four (4) inches to the fulcrum. Since this is a small set of scissors, it should be fine regardless of which fulcrum the agent chooses to try to use. The third is the most surprising. The bit driver will fall under the "collapsible tool" rule, and must be less than seven (7) inches long when fully extended and assembled. The bit driver should just barely squeak by this. The last one doesn't apply to your build, but is good to know. According to TAS guidelines, corkscrews are permitted on the plane, as long as they are not attached to a knife blade. Hope that is helpful!
The problem i see is that it looks so cool that the agent might want it for themselves, thus trying to take it from you. I'd love an update once you actually went thru the airport with it
@@nobodxy Yeah, that would definitely be an extra difficulty. I built this knife for somebody else. If he flies with it, I will update if he flies with it.
Yes, thank you very much! All info is helpful. Sadly I still feel that it will come down to the agent and how they are feeling that day and if you have the time to whip out the document and argue your point.
@@korgan7779 if you want to fly with a tool like this, you will be served well by having a paper printout of the regulations, so that if there is a "Problem" you can show that you are in compliance.
It is difficult to claim something is TSA compliant…because I’ve had a bladeless leatherman style confiscated on an international flight because of the scissors..and ive flown enough to know that it’s really up to what mood the agent is..They can pretty much say anything is non compliant if they feel it is.
Yeah, that really does make it risky. It'd be so much easier if there was a set rule that tools had to comply to without the judgment of a grumpy TSA agent.

While in uniform I can’t really argue my point as it gets me in trouble , I just have to roll with it . Multi tools are useful for us as we have stuff in the galleys that need tightening sometimes and all of the hotel windows are often screwed shut, posing an evacuation risk . It really is up to agents at tsa and if they want your stuff. There is no guideline of any sort just a no blade rule. Wow! Thanks a lot! Really made my day! You do have a really good point. 🤔 TSA may take this just because it looks too good. 🤣🤣🤣 Happy New Year! Thank you for all of your support!
Great work, very informative. I'm starting to realize that choosing an 84mm as my starting project might have been slightly more difficult to start learning on then a 91mm or especially a 93mm as I'm having to make a lot more custom parts but oh well, just means more will be easier later. I think Ill have to look into using G10 liners down the road as well. Currently using the aluminum and custom brass liners. As far as TSA is concerned; Just say NO. There are way to many factors involved and the worst one is that a human is the judge of what is and isn't allowed. If they are going to make restrictions and have them written down then they should enforce them without so called interpolations based on 1 or 2 peoples beliefs and what kind of day they are having. I would not risk a custom piece on someone else's bad day.
Yeah, the 84mm is rough because it is really limited. You are most definitely right about the TSA. It would be a huge risk to try to travel with this tool even if it matches all of TSA's rules.
Hey what’s up bro! Excellent build as always. Love how you intricately make these mods, very nice! However, like what we have discussed on IG, if the TSA agent is an IG or TH-cam follower of yours, it might not. ✌🏼😂 Happy new year bro! 🇵🇭 🥂
I'm a newbie to the swiss knife tool community...where did you get all the "accessories"? brass pins, tweezers, corkscrews, toothpickes, etc. in the complementary colors?
The brass pins I ordered from Amazon, there should be links to them in the description of the video. The colored accessories can also be purchased from Amazon, but I don't think they are in stock right now. But you can definitely find them on Ebay.
It's amazing the way you work and "how easy" you make things look. Congratulations and what a nice job. Waiting on how that WAVT is looking!!! Greetings from Mexico
Great work, love the acid etching ...but.... what is the model of the little knife with the forked pry-bar you use to get it apart .. Gotta get one of those ! Its black and has some silver white writing on it !
Wow amazing build! this video will be very useful for my first custom, i will start easy i just want to remove the saw on my huntsman and acid & brass wash. All that remains is to receive the titanium scales
This thing looks awesome! I am a little confused by the "Bladeless" title though. It still has a scissors and a wire stripping knife. Both of which are blades...
I guess you are right. 🤔 I can see how the scissors could be considered "2 blades". I'm going to be doing another project here soon, it's going to be another "bladeless" mod. 😁
Really good video! Good work! I have a question. If I want to keep the corkscrew and instead remove the punch. Can I use the layer with the punch and put it on the outer place where the corkscrew sits? Will i use the spring from punch later or the corkscrew layer? Big Thx!
@@FittoSurvive Tried it this weekend. I needed to modify the spring for the blades to fit the can openers. And use spacers as the can openers are narrower than the spring. It turned out well :)
I admire the work you put into forming the liners. Would it be practical to consider 3D printing something like that or is that material not durable enough to use? Just thinking you could set up a program, print out the 4,5 or 6 liners your need and save time.
amazing video kinda funny im working on almost the complete opposite for myself. cybertool with just blades screw driver and corkscrew. i bent the crap out of my liners thougfh so i think i need to get some G10
So how much would it be to make this tool leave the pliers out and add two lock picking tools to it that I would need? I would need a tension bar and a rake tool
It would cost around $350. I have added a lock picking shank from Sparrows to a SAK before, but I don't know how I would add both a tensioner and rake.
Honestly that looks nice if you have a lot of time, skills, tools and spare parts but i would have probably just snapped or sawed the blades off and called it good if i needed to make anything like that. Both because i don't think I personally could do much better than they do in the factory as far as Victorinox is concerned but also because i don't care enough about the aesthetics as much as the usability in a tool. I still appreciate people like you that do care about stuff like that a great deal and the idea with the g10 is actually pretty interesting. It's a cool material and i see it being used in many interesting places to substitute many materials more and more. Good job
This was amazing! I've carried around my swiss army knife for years and was never aware of how much customisation could be achieved. Do you think it would be possible to use some kind of bolt/screw system instead of the peened pins? That way you could easily pull it apart and swap parts out if you wanted. Interested in hearing your thoughts! Josh
Thank you! Yeah, there are lots of customizing options out there. Yes, like Lee commented, there is an option of using torx screws. But the ones I have available only support up to 4 layers.
Where did you get the coloured accessory kit ? I'd love to get some Firefly firesteels for toothpick swap also but so hard to find in Australia for some reason
Nice. Great video. I never thought of doing/customizing one of these. Only 1 issue. the logo of the table is too big and gets in the way of the vision. Maybe put the logo smaller on the top left corner.
I've seen some of your videos and I love your work. Those are pieces of art. If I want to replace the brass pins, where can I get torx screws? And what is the correct name for those like screw posts with a threaded inside? Thanks
Thank you! I appreciate that. Search for "Swiss Army Knife pivot barrels" on Etsy. There is a guy there who sells them. DecustomForge I believe is his shop.
Hi bro, have you ever thought of selling certain parts or even Swiss Army knives to different countries through Amazon (mexico by example lol)? I loved all your ideas and all your creativity, I'm sorry if I don't have good writing I'm still learning English, greetings
Thanks! Yeah, it is a shame to make a bladeless "knife". I have a new "TSA safe" project planned for February that is going to have a removable scalpel blade. That way before flying, you could remove and toss the scalpel blade and after arriving just snap on a new scalpel.
Thanks! That is a Victorinox Camper that I modified. It has a aquaprinted scales and the belt clip is a Swissqlip. Here's a link to the clip: amzn.to/3GupRYY
I've been wanting to get a SAK that is acceptable for work, because they have an aversion to blades (UK), this would be perfect for me! (Currently using a Leatherman Style PS)
Finally, a DIY project that dosent need 3D printing, Machining or a furnace!
Nowadays everyone seems to have tools for that, except me :(
You and me both... 🤣 Although I'd love to have them.
Neither do I

The brass pins I ordered from Amazon, there should be links to them in the description of the video. The colored accessories can also be purchased from Amazon, but I don't think they are in stock right now. But you can definitely find them on Ebay.
It’s looks awesome!!! Thanks for the content.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed.
It's amazing the way you work and "how easy" you make things look. Congratulations and what a nice job. Waiting on how that WAVT is looking!!! Greetings from Mexico
Thank you! I appreciate that. I need to get back to the XAVT project. I have been swamped with orders and have abandoned it... But I will get it done!
Hello, I like your work, the mix of colors is fabulous, please what material is the blue plate? 💙
Hey, thanks. The blue liners are made from G10.
@@FittoSurvive thank you🥇.
Great work, love the acid etching ...but.... what is the model of the little knife with the forked pry-bar you use to get it apart .. Gotta get one of those ! Its black and has some silver white writing on it !
Thank you! That small knife is a Victorinox Caddy.
Love it!
How much would this cost to buy but keeping the original finish and removing the awl ? Can’t risk being caught with a “weapon” here in Aus.
Wow amazing build! this video will be very useful for my first custom, i will start easy i just want to remove the saw on my huntsman and acid & brass wash. All that remains is to receive the titanium scales
Awesome! I am glad that you found this video useful! Good luck on your project!
I would love to have one with a YuBikey and possible usb flash storage build inn. Also an IPhone sim extractor pin
The Yubikey and USB drive would be rough to add. But the sim extractor pin can be added.
Really good video! Good work!
I have a question. If I want to keep the corkscrew and instead remove the punch.
Can I use the layer with the punch and put it on the outer place where the corkscrew sits?
Will i use the spring from punch later or the corkscrew layer?
Big Thx!
You could keep it, but you'd have to use a different set of scales that have the corkscrew cutout.
Thanks. I don't know if 3d printing would be an option. But a good CNC machine would probably do the trick for sure.
amazing video kinda funny im working on almost the complete opposite for myself. cybertool with just blades screw driver and corkscrew. i bent the crap out of my liners thougfh so i think i need to get some G10
Thanks. I'm sure that will. Be an interesting build. 👍🏻😁
hello Your blades are very nice. Could you tell me where to buy such metal handles? Thank you😊
Thanks a bunch! These titanium scales are from Aliexpress.
That is Beautiful!
Thank you!
nice work of art , mad skills
Thank you! I appreciate that.
So how much would it be to make this tool leave the pliers out and add two lock picking tools to it that I would need? I would need a tension bar and a rake tool
It would cost around $350. I have added a lock picking shank from Sparrows to a SAK before, but I don't know how I would add both a tensioner and rake.
That's way too cool!
Thanks!
Good job
LOL That's hilarious. But I do get what you are saying. 👍🏻
Thanks!
Great video! Really enjoyed that
Thanks! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Where do you get all your spare parts I want to try to make a compact with a file instead of a blade and a Phillips instead of the parcel hook
All of the spare parts that I have come from knives that I have disassembled.
Amazing work dude
Thank you!
Great work! Beautyful piece of art. THX!
Thank you!!
@@FittoSurvive Greetings from Poland :)
@@zeth997 Awesome!
Looks amazing. What about those G10 sheets. How long it may take them to wear off from friction considering that they are epoxy ?
It is a fiberglass and epoxy mix. Should hold up well. I guess time will tell.
Josh
He did say it was supposed to have hex screws but he didn't have any long enough.
Thank you!
Yeah, there are lots of customizing options out there.
Yes, like Lee commented, there is an option of using torx screws. But the ones I have available only support up to 4 layers.
Thanks! You are correct.
Where did you get the coloured accessory kit ? I'd love to get some Firefly firesteels for toothpick swap also but so hard to find in Australia for some reason
You can find them on Ebay usually. I ordered my kit from Knifecenter
beautiful work brother
Thanks a lot!
Mate another awesome build cheers. Can I ask what oil you do use please. Also where I can buy a box of sak accessories like that? Thanks
Thank you!
I use the original Victorinox tool oil. amzn.to/3DNrbIH
The accessory box I found on knifecenter.com if I remember correctly.
@@FittoSurvive brilliant thanks heaps mate 👍🏻
@@TobyFireandSteel You are welcome!
Nice. Great video. I never thought of doing/customizing one of these. Only 1 issue. the logo of the table is too big and gets in the way of the vision. Maybe put the logo smaller on the top left corner.
Thank you! I appreciate that.
Hmmm... I will keep that in mind. 👍🏻
I haven't considered selling parts. I do however make custom SAKs and mail them worldwide.
It's all wonderful!🎉
Thank you! 😊
The final result look amazing and I kow it's quite a nice job. But a bladless swiss knive is like a balless American.
Thanks! Yeah, it is a shame to make a bladeless "knife". I have a new "TSA safe" project planned for February that is going to have a removable scalpel blade. That way before flying, you could remove and toss the scalpel blade and after arriving just snap on a new scalpel.
Hello, how much does such a knife cost? And where to buy? Thank you. Its wow
A knife like this costs around $350. Check out my website for information. www.f2scustoms.com
Looking good! What is that other knife on this video? One with a beltclip?
Yeah, this would be a good knife for the UK or Europe. Good point. 👍🏻
Where do you get all the extra parts like the toothpick, tweezers etc.
The colored accessories can be found on Ebay usually. Amazon carries them sometimes too.
I’d love to have a TSA friendly tool.
I would like to keep the cork screw and screw driver.
I suspect the reamer would not be allowed.
Interesting that the awl would cause trouble being as short as it is.
