One thing that Jordan does in interview is brilliant. When he is about to make an extended point, he will say something like "..and you can tell me what you make of this..." That makes the other person sit back and listen harder, and tend to not interrupt because they want to look insightul in their reply. I need to do that more.

It’s actually a REALLY bad habit Dr Peterson has. When he says “and you can tell what you think of this” it’s him showing self consciousness about the fact that he knows he should ask a question or stop talking.
He’s self aware enough to know he’s being a bad conversationist, but he doesn’t have the humility self control to actually stop.
He does the exact same thing as a host, and there are entire episodes where he just steamrolls kind, interesting, guests who his audience, like myself, would love to hear!

Bill has nothing to offer other than "mean ol' trump". Bill is hanging from the last few threads of Trump derangement, and as young people abandon the left, identity politics, and wokism, they are supporting Trump more and more. One of the most popular rap songs in America is a song supporting Trump.
Bill has become as obscure as other Hollywood hypocrites, worried about "mean words on Twitter" while the world burns.

Does make me wonder how bad an influence it is, when the examples we're shown of how to behave - when it's not outright scripted - is a bunch of people who trained their whole lives to combine peddling ideology, serving their party and lying. Either in settings where they talk in an echochamber, or where they scream to make sure the other guy can't get a comprehensible message out.

One of my favorite parts was at 1:30:25 when Bill talks about the horrible dread of being sick of looking at a hypothetical wife everyday, and how “everyone” looses passion for their wife eventually. Then Jordan says he’s never lost passion for his wife, and he embraces her in total love all of the time… then there’s an awkward pause… I think that’s one of the most wholesome conversations I’ve ever seen between a contrast of people. Notice how Jordan is vibrant, optimistic, and energetic, and Bill is shriveled and negative. That speaks volume.

Jordan with Haight or Weinstein or Murray is always great. But Jordan with someone like Maher is incredible because we get to see him so very subtly try to meet the need Maher has. Jordan's ever so gently providing therapeutic insight. You can even hear it in his voice when Jordan says, 'Well, Bill, you know this,' making it easier for Maher to accept something he doesn't want to accept.

Well done, this is a beautiful display of respectfully sharing knowledge with out allowing personal emotions to dictate the story. I want to highlight this Bill, despite your emotions and view point on the Bible, your respect for Jordan allowed for information to be shared and reflected on. Jordon, your insight to peoples responses and positioning yourself with such skill when sharing is amazing to watch. I have watched so many debates on different topics and its sad that the goal of the debate is seen as a competition of who's best rather then growing in collaboration :)

Never been more excited for a Club Random episode and I wasn't a bit disappointed, it even went better than I expected.
Jordan Peterson even broke Bill's wall a bit. Bill went from laughing at the Sodom and Gomorrah analogy to being mind-blown. Peterson has a way of breaking down archetypes and making them so relatable to the present day.

Not sure it's an analogy. Idk... I watch the archaeological TH-cam videos on Sodom and Gomorrah - the cities of the plains near the Dead Sea in Israel. There are dozens of them. They will make you think

@@Graacie111 I'm not saying the story itself is an analogy. I mean Jordan Peterson used it in this context as one. Like, 'forget about the struggle of how factual this is, or isn't, and use it in this way'. That's where I'm coming from.

The reason why Jordan Peterson always breaks down everything into the tidy bits of understanding, is because he goes out of his way to portray himself in such behavior.
We fail to understand that the only way you or I can understand how people function as a collective and individual, is analyzing our own conducts and behaviors in life and owning such episodes, so that we don’t get stuck in them.
We all have behaved in one moment or another, or for a day or two, in any of the personality traits he described…unfortunately not everybody is willing to break their own ego and humble themselves to accept it, express it, and deal with it, like he says, for so many people it’s just easier to stay that way and that’s when they become definitely one of those archetypes.

@@Ch7oma I hear ya, I never, EVER would've thought I'd see Bill take someone's interpretation of a Biblical story seriously, but it's right in front of us here. I watched the entire series of Peterson breaking down the stories of Genesis several years ago, and I don't really care how right he got the message from the original authors, because there's a whole array of lessons/morals-of-the-story/etc that he describes which are perfectly applicable to anyone living in the 21st century
