The ease with which he lives life is a perfect display of his dedicated daily TM. I just read sometimes twice a day. It was fun to see Bill get into a buzz zone while Jerry kicked back with no judgment. Very cool bond. Lifetime friendships are chosen family and serve as mirrors to our lives. Good, bad, ugly. This was a treat to witness!
I love this so much. As a Gen X'er I so miss the anticipation of the fall shows. After seeing reruns all summer you were so looking forward to fall with the new shows and school starting and the weather change and back to the grind. The fall shows were a bright spot since you knew you'd have to work and the carefree days of summer were over. I know all things must change but I do feel nostalgic for the way things used to be.
I miss the pilot episode time of Fall shows. A couple of weeks worth of just random new stuff to watch, not all good, and some weird decisions to cancel what thought was good while keeping what thought of to be very mediocre.
Now that you say it, I can relate. For a minute, I connected with that end of summer feeling, which made me a little sad but at the same time was exciting because of the new shows.
I enjoyed the way Jerry tried to get Bill to 'move on or let it go' whenever he tried to talk about the past and equate how it would work today. Who cares? Bill could learn a lot from him and be a happier man, instead of a man shaking a rake.
Bill Maher, Jewish by blood.. sadist by choice. Both of their voices are so whiny… I couldn’t finish listening. But Jerry is a breeze of fresh air comedically. I hope behind closed doors Jerry talked to him about how Bill has become a cog of the Hasbara machine. Albeit, unknowingly. We think he was hypnotized by Noa Tishby. She’s incredibly good at what she does. I watched her before October 7th on Bill’s show and I was transfixed. She’s beautiful and soooo persuasive that listeners don’t realize how she, without fail, avoids with vigor, VITAL information in discussion. So I was reminded to look up the meaning of the word Hasbara that I first learned of in 2005. The Hasbara playbook is a step by step process for how to commandeer control of a story around anything Israel. It’s a step by step. And you can watch the talking heads of Hasbara rattle off each step and if step one doesn’t work, they go to the next step. It’s a playbook for how to brainwash on a mass scale and have brainwashees become brainwashers. It’s been really really really really really successful- especially at the turn of the 21st century and the 2005 conflict. But now the Information Age has become more advanced.. Hasbara’s dominion is starting to crack. Cogs of Hasbara are usually easy to spot once you’ve read the playbook. But in Bill Maher’s case.. it’s quite interesting because he parades himself around media figures as a self described “old school” liberal. Um.. he’s as old school liberal as Megan McCain. He’s not a liberal. The Buffalo Springfield song lyric comes to mind “there’s a man with a gun over there, telling me, I’ve got to beware” when I think of old school liberals; I think of politically inclined Hippies. But now the man with the gun is an Israeli on an Israeli owned GUNSHIP. And no one is stopping to stop the sound and take a look what’s going ‘round. But if they were to do so, they would see what’s going ‘round is NOT Bill Maher being “a liberal” or a hippie at all… 😂. He’s being a right wing conservative and mindless agent of hasbara. Plain and simple. And he needs help from balanced and reasonable non-warmongering Jews like Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David.
I wanna find myself somewhere in between these two mindsets. As I could relate to both perspectives. One, how time passes, and desperately trying to learn from the past, and the other not wasting any time thinking about what you can’t change.
I never wanted this to end! What a total, absolute, escape; had a smile on my face the entire time. And Jerry and I are reading the same book! I also 100% agree with Jerry's articulate comments regarding Bill's weekly 'New Rules'; which is the funniest, most creative, original comedy every week. Like Jerry, it leaves me breathless with appreciation for such prowess and elegance in relaying a skit that asks people to think (while making them laugh!). 😊
To Jerry Seinfeld: I absolutely loved the new movie Unfrosted!! My husband and I are in our 40s and while we did not live through the 60s, the era of the movie, the comedy, the content was absolutely refreshing and hilarious! We called our kids in who are 16, 14 and 9, I can’t tell you enough how nice it was to laugh and watch a movie all together with no strange political motives in the story! I am very grateful for this❤
Just saw movie last night, loved it! Played it for my bedbound Alzheimers/ Dementia husband who loved it too! Knew what it was about and we had an actual conversation about our favorite cereals and his love for pop tarts over the years! ThankYou! Anne and Phil Riegel
Do they give out Emmys for podcasts? Because this episode is award-worthy. And I mean that sincerely, Jerry! Just two legendary comedians talking and reminiscing about comedy and life and their careers with no agenda or ulterior motive. I think the reason this episode is so great is because we are getting a real look at Jerry Seinfeld as a person for almost an hour and a half. It's more in-depth than him driving around in a car or sitting in a diner for a few minutes with another comedian...comedians he may or may not even have any kind of friendship/relationship with. He and Bill are lifelong friends, and it shows in how Jerry seems more willing to open up and discuss things more deeply.
Refreshing to see something other than The typical celebrity bloe job fest. The compliments were sincere and there is true respect. Also Jerry's ability to keep Bill from bloviating is awesome to watch.
This is a really interesting psychology study. Bill just wants to reminisce about the past and Jerry is all about the now and the future. Bill even says when talking about how good memories make him sad because they will never happen again, " you are more at peace with this than I am ". I kind of feel for Bill, he seems a little sad about getting older and even talks about not doing standup any more. Jerry while being very nice to Bill has no time for sentimental stuff.
As a fellow boomer, this conversation is epic, heartfelt, revealing, funny! Love you both Bill and Jerry. Different lives we live yet hearing of the struggles and all, the key has always been the comedy comedy, comedy from you guys forever. Laughter, Music, Art, and performances can always bring people together. Peace and Love Y'all
This is a historic meeting for posterity, a real privilege to watch and listen to them reminisce. Personally, I was interested in Jerry's powerful demonstration of the power of sobriety and meditation over pot and alcohol.
It's been sad to watch the trajectory. He's doing fine career-wise, but there is some sense of sadness he is trying to come to terms with, with the world he didn't realize he loved, passing away, and he himself going to join it in non existence. He's trying to hold onto memories of the past, even though he said good memories make him sad. He rejected God over and over, and is constrained by pride from opening his heart to Him, when He's the Answer to all those things.
If I was reading a transcript, and only Bill's side of the conversation, I'd think he was talking to an old lover. So different from the other Club Randoms.
@robtpenn9666 Agree. The way I heard it recalled a time when I was sharing myself intellectually and through memories, only to realize that the other person was not the friend I thought he was, and perhaps didn't even know how to be a friend. This came to mind. (BTW, love Robert Penn Warren and other Agrarians).
I don't really watch this podcast , but this super sweet. I didn't know they were even friends, but its obvious they have been very good friends for most of their adult lives. I watch Bill every week, but being negative and critical gets exhausting sometimes. To see these guys be so genuinely warm toward each other was such a nice change of pace
Having Jerry Seinfeld sitting opposite of Bill is pure gold. Seeing Bill stuffed back in his chair by Jerry is hilarious but they do seem to work well together. "Whats below petty?" 😂😂
When speaking of his book he says, "I put a lot of work in this" and Jerry gives him a great come back line, "I'm sure you did" with a shit eating grin and Bill mumbles to him "shut up". Of course, they both knew that there were ghost writers and editors involved.
That he has writers for New Rules is hardly a secret, nor is it a secret that he spends most of the week fine-tuning that editorial. That he put the book together while writers were on strike probably means he did most of the rework for book format, and every author should have an editor.
The best! It was a conversation among friends not an interview with someone trying to keep up with Bill while they pretend to drink him under the table. 🥂
It's funny how both of em understood the hierarchy they both succumb to and respect each others level. Jerry is one of the only people Bill will shut up for, to listen to.
Yes but they both have OCD tendencies and neurotic things like most people and Jerry doesn't want Bill hyper focusing on them. For him meditation works, for Bill, well he drinks and smokes too much. I think I'd rather meditate few minutes a day if it worked.
The more I see Jerry Seinfeld, the more I respect and like him. He's being, as he always is, generous to his host, and it seems to me, here, also a good friend. While I'd like to be Jerry's friend, I'm also well aware that neither my opinion of him, nor this ridiculous desire for friendship are of any consequence to him, whatsoever. He's a good soul it seems.
I think this is the best Club Random episode. A show biz guest that Bill looks up to…at least a little bit. Jerry is more relaxed and impromptu than he usually is.
When Jerry talked about "sophisticated silliness" I was brought to mind about SCTV which I thought was ahead of it's time but rarely gets named checked but was comedy gold.
Gotta say, Jerry looks great...both still are at the top of their game, fit, fully up on current events, funny, fast on their feet and sharp as ever... also Jerry has always been to me a classy and stand up guy when he didn't abandon Michael Richards at his lowest point...a true friend and good no nonsense guy.
You gave Jerry a present, but gave us one even just as precious, a wonderful gift here as well. Thank you Bill, and crew...as well as Jerry which to me, shown as a wonderful light on you, and you gleamed like a memory stirred to the fore.
Jerry may be the only guest Bill has had that he respects to the point where he dials back his tendency to take conversations hostage and actually comes across as relatively humble.

I was born close by. Thanks to your grandfather! ❤️
OMG! I’ve been waiting for Jerry to be on Club Random! I love it!
The two of them have been stand up comics since the 1970s. That is incredible to have that long a career.
And friendship.
seinfeld was 20 in 1974 .. maybe the 80s ....
They met in 1979 doing stand-up in case you didn't watch.
they were both standing up in the late 70s
The ease with which he lives life is a perfect display of his dedicated daily TM. I just read sometimes twice a day. It was fun to see Bill get into a buzz zone while Jerry kicked back with no judgment. Very cool bond. Lifetime friendships are chosen family and serve as mirrors to our lives. Good, bad, ugly. This was a treat to witness!
No one has a more entertaining perspective than an aged comedian. Two great comedy minds going at it. Incredible.
I really and truly appreciate all of the smiles, laughs and joy Jerry Seinfeld has brought to my life.
"I don't wanna wear this ruffled shirt..." LOL
“Why is he(Frankenstein) wearing a sport jacket!” That’s one of the funniest things I’ve ever heard! 🤣🤣🤣
I like a monster that at least tries to make an effort!

And where do you even find a jacket that size? According to the book he was 8 ft tall, so it would have to be custom made.
The way Bill dodged that question about late night hosts was actually pretty hilarious. We're all thinking the same thing.
The low key mocking of Colbert, Fallon, and Kimmel was fantastic.
when did they do that
Colbert is an infinitely more skilled comedian than these hacks.
But Bill never had a reply! Pussy! He ignored the opportunity to elaborate. Sorry, I liked where he was going with that point.
I was going to say Colbert and Kimmel are funnier than Jerry’s standup, which I find amusing more than laugh out loud funny

Greatest show he's ever had. He actually didn't interrupt Jerry
Perfect! So good to see these two hanging out
It feels so wholesome
BEST GUEST ⭐️🏆👏
We can all learn a lot from Jerry Seinfeld.
Fantastic show, Bill! You two bring out the best in one another. 💕
This was my favorite so far. Seinfeld and Maher have such respect for each other and yet are at somewhat opposite ends of the comedic spectrum.
watch the comedians in cars episode with these two. you get an insight into their friendship.
As a millennial, I love the fall tv guide, pilot episode and the whole tv show watching experience.
'tis So true!
Maybe the best guest ever and that’s saying something! Jerry Seinfeld is a living legend!
Love Jerry and Mr Bill together.
Well said. As someone who adores Bill, I like to see people challenge his cynicism and try to soften him.
I wanna find myself somewhere in between these two mindsets. As I could relate to both perspectives. One, how time passes, and desperately trying to learn from the past, and the other not wasting any time thinking about what you can’t change.
Shaking a rake! lol
Bill is great the way he is.
I like this genuine and vulnerable Bill much more than normal Bill. What a pleasant episode.
It's awesome seeing and hearing Bill Maher and his awesome guests, High
Bill is getting sentimental in his age, and Jerry will never change, it’s so funny.

I am very grateful for this❤
Same for me and my family. Great description of how we felt watching it too.
I wish I could say the same. I watched it with my 12-year-old daughter, and now she's a Maoist.

Great conversation. Loved every minute of it.
Just saw movie last night, loved it! Played it for my bedbound Alzheimers/ Dementia husband who loved it too! Knew what it was about and we had an actual conversation about our favorite cereals and his love for pop tarts over the years! ThankYou! Anne and Phil Riegel
That's amazing! ❤ (my mom had dementia). Both she and my dad loved Seinfeld.
Well said! 👏🏼 🙌🙌
It'll win a Tony award
Bro chill
This guy wet his pants
I completely forgot that Bill Maher did stand up. Great comment.
Two absolute Titans in their respective industry, just vibing and having a real conversation. One of the many benefits of the 21st century! 💯
Jerry literally says that this isn't a real conversation in the first few minutes. This is a "gig".
Kudos to Bill zMaher. He handled well the interview with someone more talented, smarter and classier. Thanks for the interview with Seinfeld.
the tug & pull -its excellent! Two old friends cracking each other up is priceless.
Refreshing to see something other than The typical celebrity bloe job fest. The compliments were sincere and there is true respect. Also Jerry's ability to keep Bill from bloviating is awesome to watch.
Bloviating. Yes- good word. He is quite guilty of that.
Married man with kids vs old and lonely.

I so TOTALLY agree. Both Bill and Jerry present themselves as REAL!!!
Add Leno to it.
Jerry Seinfeld! I can’t wait to hear about Bills life growing up in NJ!
😂😂😂
Well played sir. 🤣
Too funny, and so close to the truth LOL!
Genius. 👍👍
This is a historic meeting for posterity, a real privilege to watch and listen to them reminisce. Personally, I was interested in Jerry's powerful demonstration of the power of sobriety and meditation over pot and alcohol.
Bill needs a hug. He needs a friend. Bless him with your love, Lord.
@davidanderson6055 This is clear and compassionate insight.
@@davidanderson6055 Not to us atheists!
“That reminds me of a Seinfeld episode” is something I say often in life
Me too. I still watch Seinfeld and laugh every time.
Never freaking fails for me!! Auto Pilot! 😂 Still watch my GOAT clips on You Tube for lift up when down! Maaaan ! That show is everything!! Agree!
The best episode so far. Two old friends having a chat. ❤
WOW...two of my FAVORITE men, in all ways, shapes and forms. Thank you!
Where the FUCK would the world of comedy or sanity be without these 2?!?
Hahaha 100% fucking great
The best! It was a conversation among friends not an interview with someone trying to keep up with Bill while they pretend to drink him under the table. 🥂
It's funny how both of em understood the hierarchy they both succumb to and respect each others level. Jerry is one of the only people Bill will shut up for, to listen to.
That’s so cool that Bill Maher gave him the Worlds Fair map! 🗺️ Jerry had his 60 min interview there in 2020!
I was so tickled when I opened this up and saw Jerry as the guest.

Yes, but the way friends used to, like an adult.
Yes but they both have OCD tendencies and neurotic things like most people and Jerry doesn't want Bill hyper focusing on them. For him meditation works, for Bill, well he drinks and smokes too much. I think I'd rather meditate few minutes a day if it worked.
That's a real friend, though. I have a lot of good friends that do. I love them for it eventually.
I finally got my wish! Jerry Seinfeld! Finally! 🎉
When Jerry talked about "sophisticated silliness" I was brought to mind about SCTV which I thought was ahead of it's time but rarely gets named checked but was comedy gold.
EXCELLENT example. I grew up watching it all. SCTV, Python, SNL, Stooges, Marx Brothers, I loved it all. And SCTV doesn't get enough love.
