So, i am getting roughly 7.5 hours daily (exact same config as yours) with this laptop (general usability) on 60% brightness. How is it that you got 14 hours, what battery settings are you using?
I just started learning Adobe Premier and edit small clips under 1-minute as well as some light Photoshop and web-editing on Wordpress. You guys think X1 Carbon can handle this or dish more $$$ and get the larger X1 Extreme? Thoughts?
With due respect, I doubt your battery performance measurement. I owned two version of X1C 7th (4K and 2K) screen. 4K lasts 3.5 - 4 hours under very light load (1 chrome with 3-5 tabs, Outlook client. Nothing else had been running). 2K version lasts only 5 hours. Remember, no gaming, no video editing. Even FD (1080) version which by the way you can test yourself at local Costco, will last 6 - 7 hrs at best scenario. With such poor battery run time, I had to send both units back to Lenovo. You are 100% correct on the keyboard. It is best in the league.
As of now, none. Its a struggle. I don’t want and can’t use any other keyboards. Maybe T490s as it has larger battery and very sleek design. There isn’t much difference now between two. X1C 7 sounds much better.

Finally I have felt like replacing that with Gen 7 and now getting it this November with i7 10710U
Abeer A certainly...if you are more into programming and development...not for video production. It works amazingly great with multiple workloads even if your are running virtual PCs alongside. I have got X1C with 10th Gen i7 with 16GB of RAM, 1T of SSD and 2K display.
Battery life is *not* amazing! It's better with the 1080p screens (which is meh to begin with) but is absolutely horrible with the higher resolution screen options.

I like business laptops for small size of touchpad, but this one's size is a little bit bigger than I need for financial analysis and report writing work. But I wish it had a touchpad with dedicated buttons below the touchpad, instead of clickpad. Also, I like that Lenovo Thinkpad has decicated pair of buttons above the touchpad. Iconic.

Autocad would run sort of ok, in terms of occasionally loading up a project and doing some editing on the go. But these 4-core U-series laptops are just not meant to be the primary machine if you're doing more serious development, architecture, 3d, graphics or gaming...They can do it, but in the end it's going to be sluggish, hot, and noisy...From experience, if that is going to be your main work macine, I recommend buying something with a larger chassis and hexa-core CPU + entry level GTX or Quadro graphics...Essentially, P series, if you're looking at Lenovo. It's bulkier and uglier, but it'll be much more comfortable to support your work (source: used T460s, Dell XPS 15 and Razer Blade 2018 for heavier development, regretted all, stupid for not buying a proper "workstation" machine...)
