Shock G and Digital Underground was A big influence on me I had the privilege of actually jumping up on stage and rapping with them when they performed at a place called Atlantis back in the day it was epic it was awesome and he was such a nice guy. We spoke for a couple minutes and he gave me some props, encouraging me to stick with it and write everyday. His piano solo that night was and still is one of the best I’ve ever seen live. It’s also a big part of why I have pianos now. A real talent I wish he had put out even more material. Hopefully some of it finds it way out into the world. - this interview is so dope as it has a vibe of just hangin and sharing stories like your there in the room with you and Shock. It’s super cool you got this and thank you for putting it up. Can’t wait to see more ! - Cheers, Juiceman. Hip Hop Mecanix
Thank you so much for this interview. I wish it was longer. There is almost no other interview of Shock G here on TH-cam so I am very glad that you sharing this with us. I wish he wasn’t gone. Truly a legend.
I was his favourite interviewer, when you see D.U. moment that is what sparked to get this, He granted me this and gifted me moments. He was a serious friend and I was sad that he passed. Gregory Jacobs :(
Always a HUGE fan of DU have a lot of their cassette tapes and CDs still play their music. So innovative. Shock G was an AMAZING story teller Rest in Power Beautiful, Talented KING❤️✊🏽 Saw them in 1991 so fortunate.
RIP G!!! thanks for this nice interview!! he is needed. so sad we lost him. wish he found something true to hold on to and stayed here on the planet with us.
This is a gem! Beautiful interview, watching randomly on a Monday. What an awesome storyteller and ray of light. 30 years of listening to songs like Arguin' on the Funk, I'm still amazed at the genius of these songs and and how he layered tracks, concepts, and awesome production. Hip Hop legend ahead of his time. Rest in Power SHOCK G!
Bless you Gregory. Silly- soulful, intelligent thoughtful-joyful-playful. Rip Shock G. For your music and influence on Pac:🙏Will cherish this- deep, profound words of a musicians arc.
Amazing storyteller and I can't believe that he was gone a year after I was watching him on my phone at the world premiere of All eyes of me biopic on the red carpet and how he wasn't afraid of death.
First off didn’t know Shock ever married… wonder when they divorced….. Second loved this interview …. He have so much insight …. Wish there was other interviews of him…. Could sit and listen to him all day❤❤❤… Thank you for this❤❤
Called fidgeting n distractions so I had to cut noise. Sorry you didn't like that. I put this out for him legacy. I was his fav interviewer of all time he said. Rip Shock G.
@@checkthearchives I'm definitely glad that this interview exists, don't get me wrong. The interview is great, he obviously feels comfortable otherwise he wouldn't have opened up so much and reminisced so much. It was just the occasional fading of the tone, nothing more✌🏻✊🏻
Dropping so many gems, as always! RIP to the 🐐 👃 Also had me cracking up at spotlight following Pac during cop chase. And Murs lookin at the girls funny. 😅
yes you're a 100% correct, but its amazing how young people can look that don't have to work an 8 hr day job for 40 years, 9to 5 jobs age you quick, if you do what you love for 40 years, you can tell in your skin your smile your walk, it makes a huge difference. just think how young he would have looked if he left the drugs alone.
The fucked up thing is..he says I deserved it. I never did what I was supposed to do..this man is most likely neuro divergent ..some people don’t have the option to do normal people shit smh
The greatest storyteller in Hip Hop, hands down. Imagine him and Pac doing podcasts in 2024. RIP brother
You can almost see pain in his face, that he misses those days so much.. a wonderful creative soul.. an underrated treasure. Xx. RIP.
