It took me a minute because of my own mistake but if you pause it at around 2:53 seconds and copy or type in exactly what he did and it will work like I said it took me a minute but I finally got it! There were some areas where I had two dashes instead of one missing a period a misspelled word go through it with the fine tooth comb and you will find your error and be able to play.
It worked! Make it match his notepad, not the description. The description has extra -. Also, retype all the quotations as they are curvy, not straight, in the description.

For those having launch issues, the problem is with the quotation marks in the copied launch options text. Go in and replace all of the “. For some reason it uses a different “ and causes it to fail.
You need quotes at either side. Sometimes when you copy and paste characters in from other sources they're in a different font. He's suggesting deleting the quotes and then typing them back in
Don't know what kind of witchcraft this is, but it works. I did it on OLED Deck so if anyone is wondering, yes it works. It takes a little bit for controller to "connect" so just give it like 10 seconds when you're on the Gamepass homepage.
For anyone who did this and it made you unable to even launch edge anymore, it seems like the launch option command just breaks edge now as it has native steam deck controller support. I dont know if you still have to do the thing in Konsole or not but if yes that's actually all you need to do before you're ready to play.
Retested this today on the latest Steam Deck firmware and it all still works. All I can suggest is that your putting character wrong in the launch options. Make sure you've not made any mistakes with the single dashes and double dashes or the spaces
I get a page saying "hmmm...can't reach this page" when running it from library. Can you maybe post an update, since it has changed with the new OLEDs much appreciated
have the oled copy the notepad type it in and it'll work. only problem I had was I subscribed to pc game pass, took a while to figure out but go with unlimited because if you get the base one it kept telling me I had to go unlimited to play and its smooth with cloud play.

I had to remove edge from non steam game and then add it back again and do nothing to get it working in both desktop & gaming mode. Yea it was mentioned in another comment. I tried it with and without that though and both worked, so I couldn't figure out what that was actually doing. If you take it out again now you've had it working does it continue to work? All I can think is maybe it's a command you need the first time you launch it perhaps

I don't understand. When i first got my steam deck i accomplished this no problem. Now, there is no edge beta (not sure if you even need it anymore) but I've followed this step by step. I press the play button in steam it acts like its gonna open something then it just highlights the play button green again. I've done this with and without the Konsole command and I've done this setup with the games apprentice loading command and with microsoft's loading command. Nothing is working anymore. Please help! lol
Double check you've got quotes around the loading commands, and that it's exact, no extra spaces or extra hyphons. If that seems fine, then try a different version of Proton. Don't worry about the konsole bit, that's for making the steam deck controller work, so won't affect it launching.

If found a thing on a google search says about the last bit for xbox blaa blas with " these" were the problem for me. All this tutorial does is gets it to run via Steam so you can play it in big picture mode and use the steam controls. If you've got Edge installed, just go to the Gamepass website via desktop mode, and try running Gamepass that way. If that won't even load a game then it's probably your connection, as that works out of the box. I've had it happen occasionally where I can see the games but it'll try launch them, but then just spit my back to the Gamepass menu. If that's what you mean is happening, usually just restarting the Steam Deck sorts that

You can just click on the "continue anyway" button when it mentions a controller in desktop mode. Obviously you can't play it this way, but if the game won't load this way then you know your connection is problem. If it does load this way, then it's most likely one of the characters is wrong in one of the commands

If it's playable via desktop mode with Edge, I'd just double check the commands at 2:45, make sure you copy and paste it from my description rather than hand typing it, as it's so easy to get one of the characters wrong. Then just check to make sure you don't have any extra characters/spaces at the beggining or end.

Are you getting the "can't reach this page" error? If so, the problem might be the quote symbols (" "). Try going to the launch options and manually changing the quotes for the URL (after the "--kiosk" parameter) with your onscreen keyboard. I believe copying them from the youtube description messes this up.
Its not detecting a controller for me. I did change the configuration and hit "X" to apply changes. I'm able to scroll games and press "A" to launch them but once launched it acts as though I don't have a controller. Any tips would be appreciated!
I don't know if you've managed to solve this. The only way I was able to recreate it was by skipping the controller configuration step. Once that's set to Gamepad With Mouse Tracking I had no issues with it detecting a controller
And I did both, opened Forza, and neither work. EDIT: Got it working. The problem was I was following the instructions in the video and following them exactly, to a T, including anything that appeared to be case sensitive. The video has it as "edge", whereas the command needs to be "Edge" or it will not work. I see you have that in the description and assume most people who just copied and pasted didn't have that issue. I was manually typing it from the video, though.
I'm still a small channel so my tutorials come with tech support! Let me know what's happening when you try and launch an Xbox game, or how far you're getting and I'll try and help you troubleshoot it. Maybe start by reading other comments and replies though to see if I've already addressed your issue
So that part is literally just opening up a web page to the game pass page, so should be pretty easy to see what you've done wrong. Launch it in desktop mode, and then you should be able to see the web address. Open up a new tab and type in the web address yourself, or just Google it and click the link. If that works, compare the two web addresses and see what's different

link worked a wonder however once loaded carnt use the sytem buttoms or steam buttons and keyboard shortcut doesnt work so i carnt log into my xbox account to use it
Make sure you're running it in game mode not desktop mode. The commands right at the start of the video into the console are for the controls, so retry that step again

It does not work, Best option is to go to your microsoft edge browser sign in, Yes it does work but, Some games like FPS, The look around right analog don't work and no edge browser controller options to fix it

Seems to be more reliable in Gaming mode. If it's still not coming up just restart the deck. It should be just X in desktop mode but it's very hit and miss
In screen one should come up if you press X. It can be a bit temperamental though. You might be able to connect a keyboard with a USB to USB-C converter (alot of phones come with these). Or you could get a dock, the one I use is in the description
Make sure you're back in Game Mode, not desktop mode. A few people seem to be making that mistake. If you are, are you just clicking play and nothing is happening?

If you were copying from the command in my description there was a space in there that's not in the video, I've removed it now, could've been that causing the issue. Glad you got it working though

Try typing all the commands in by hand rather than copying and pasting, make sure they're exactly as they are on the screen, same spaces, same number of dashes, not getting comas and dashes mixed up.

Hello. I have a problem. Gamepass works without lags, but I have a lot of fps drops. games run at 60fps then drops to 35-40fps every few seconds. I have 300 mb internet, connected by etherenet cable to pc and wi fi 5g. any advice? pls
If you're referring to the command in konsole, you could try continue without it. I've had some people commenting that's not required in recent versions of proton, I can't confirm if that's right though, but worth a try

Yeah, streaming is a big no no. Fix that and then maybe you have someone that finally plays with all big 3 console players. Until then, PS and Nintendo it is (and PC).

You should be able to add it via the usual method of adding stuff to Steam as well. Click on add new game, add non steam game, and then click on the browse button to find it. I use this method in the PlayStation Plus video if you want to see it

No, if you're using a controller, you don't need this tutorial at all. You could just play it Edge browser from Desktop mode. This tutorial makes it work through big screen mode using the steam deck controls

If anyone having trouble launching, the code in his description is wrong. Instead of “-arch=x86+64” it is actually “-arch=x86_64”

Sounds like you've got a typo somewhere. Have you put a dot in the window size instead of a comma?

The steam pop up to add edge never comes up for me. I have factory reset it and everything but I can’t get it on steam
If you just go into Steam, add new game, and add none steam game and just select Edge from the list

That's what the first bit is for, the commands you need to type into konsole. Sounds like that hasnt worked

Hi, i have managed to get it to launch however I am not able to sign in as I cannot seem to find a way to get the keyboard to appear in order to input my login details. Any help would be great

is there a way to increase bandwidth. I remember there being settings for you to like lower quality for low speeds or high quality if you have high speeds.

If you're using Firefox that may be the problem, I know Nvidia streaming does not work with it for some reason.

It's just Game Pass Ultimate, that's the only version that comes with cloud streaming

You can only download Xbox games onto an Xbox.

It does not work, Best option is to go to your microsoft edge browser sign in, Yes it does work but, Some games like FPS, The look around right analog don't work and no edge browser controller options to fix it

How do I copy/paste or even type in the target or launch options boxes? Steam+x doesn't pull up the keyboard while in steam
Seems to be more reliable in Gaming mode. If it's still not coming up just restart the deck. It should be just X in desktop mode but it's very hit and miss

In screen one should come up if you press X. It can be a bit temperamental though. You might be able to connect a keyboard with a USB to USB-C converter (alot of phones come with these). Or you could get a dock, the one I use is in the description

Make sure you're back in Game Mode, not desktop mode. A few people seem to be making that mistake. If you are, are you just clicking play and nothing is happening?

If you were copying from the command in my description there was a space in there that's not in the video, I've removed it now, could've been that causing the issue. Glad you got it working though

It should just be by holding the Steam Button below the dpad, and press X. I've had it a few times where it wouldn't pop up until restarted though

There should be a browse option to add it. You can also right click microsoft edge in desktop mode and select add to steam

I give up, I've tried for 4 hours and can't get it to work properly
Try typing all the commands in by hand rather than copying and pasting, make sure they're exactly as they are on the screen, same spaces, same number of dashes, not getting comas and dashes mixed up.

Followed ALL steps correctly, double checked all codes wnd launch options. DOES NOT WORK
If you've done it all correctly there's nothing really I can advise, maybe get in touch with Microsoft support, this is their official process
Hello. I have a problem. Gamepass works without lags, but I have a lot of fps drops. games run at 60fps then drops to 35-40fps every few seconds. I have 300 mb internet, connected by etherenet cable to pc and wi fi 5g. any advice? pls

If you're referring to the command in konsole, you could try continue without it. I've had some people commenting that's not required in recent versions of proton, I can't confirm if that's right though, but worth a try

I'd imagine that would work, however you might not get a solid enough connection through a VPN to play smoothly
Yeah, streaming is a big no no. Fix that and then maybe you have someone that finally plays with all big 3 console players. Until then, PS and Nintendo it is (and PC).

You can definitely connect with friends easy enough. Not sure about voice chat though. Maybe via Discord

this is xbox cloud gameing and not game pass, 2 different things
It's literally called gamepass ultimate. It's the highest tier gamepass and it allows cloud streaming. It's the same thing.

You should be able to add it via the usual method of adding stuff to Steam as well. Click on add new game, add non steam game, and then click on the browse button to find it. I use this method in the PlayStation Plus video if you want to see it

Thumbs down from me, I don't know what the issue is but this does not work. I have tried some of the fixes in the comments and no matter what I do it just crashes right after trying to open it.

No, if you're using a controller, you don't need this tutorial at all. You could just play it Edge browser from Desktop mode. This tutorial makes it work through big screen mode using the steam deck controls
