To anyone wondering why it isn't wondering anymore, paste the launch command after like this "@@" ---window-size. Since a recent update, valve seems to be using double quotes for file directories (it could be a change that originated in arch main line) With this change, it should work flawless. Maybe Alex will see this and update it.

I just wanted to say I love your videos. I just got a Steam Deck and your videos have been so helpful. I was having trouble setting this up and noticed that my launch option wording had quotations. If anyone else is having trouble carefully delete all the quotations and follow this video step by step and it will work. There must have been some sort of update to Microsoft Edge. I wanted to put this information out there for anyone who might be having the same issue.

this doees not wokr on the new steam deck oled instead of the @@ you have "" at the end and when you launch edge it gives you page cant be displayed.

It's only a matter of time until Valve and Microsoft partner up for a native Game Pass application on the Steam Deck. I would be quite shocked if it didn't happen in the next couple of years or so. But for now I will definitely try this workaround.
Considering that the promise of COD will stay on steam from Phil didn’t require a contract tells me they got a great relationship.
Pretty sure even Gabe said that he wouldn't mind if gamepass was on the steam deck, so even he would like that idea
I doubt that will happen because it would open Game Pass up to everyone on Linux, unless they made a Game Pass app that was Steam Deck exclusive.
@@qu1253 Microsoft wants to stay out of regulatory trouble so putting game pass on the steam deck make sense. Plus they still want to grow gamepass subscribers.
@@MunuM77 Yes, but they also want to protect Windows' dominance. The last thing they want is to make Linux a viable alternative to Windows for gaming.
Works great! Only issue I’m having is getting it to recognize my controller even with changing the controller setting to game pad with mouse track 😭

Nice. This is the same method I used to setup Stadia on my Deck. I’ve been curious about Gamepass, so I’d just have to edit the URL in the properties (and change the icon/art so it’s no longer for Stadia lol).
As others mentioned, you can run Windows 10 off a MicroSD (I use for a couple of games) if you want to install the games locally. But honestly it can sometimes feel like a hassle to reboot into Windows.
Just finished going through this setup and it worked. One tip that I didn't see anywhere that really helped is that Steam has a Note feature. So you can copy the command strings above if you're following along on PC and it will sync over to Steam (i did have to reboot to see it). Then you can copy/paste within steam deck.

Now I just gotta kick my kid off Minecraft. I mainly picked up the Steam a deck because my wife is takes up our gaming laptop with the Sims4, and my son plays Minecraft on my Series S so I needed something to game on. Unless I get GamePass family bundle, we can’t run gamepass at the same time😕
@@alargefarva4274 should’ve gotten the 64gb and just installed a ssd into your steam. Would’ve saved couple hundred bucks
@@cityoftrees9953 I don’t consider myself tech savvy enough to go poking inside of these things. The 256 is the perfect size for the few AAA titles I play at any given time. And the high end .5TB SD card holds all my AA and indie titles. I may consider changing the 256 later down the line

Not working on my oled. I even copy pasted the whole launch command into the text editor and verified its an exact copy. It shows up and everything but wont actually launch.

So i have 2 concerns. I followed this step by step but when i open x cloud it just takes me to Microsoft edge, and when i paste in the launch options, both sets of @@'s have quotation marks around them, do i need to erase those to get it to work? Actually everything has quotes around it
Do the space after the quotation mark and then paste the command

Just got my steam deck and watched your video so I could have my game pass on my deck and man your video out of all the videos I watched was the easiest to understand and I was set up in 20 minutes Thankyou. I finally got it working. It took me min to get it but it's a game changer for the steam deck
I can't sign myself in.... I can't seem to get the on-screen keyboard to appear... everywhere else I press Steam + X button and on-screen keyboard comes up... But nope not on the Xbox Login Screen (I dont have a wireless keyboard or USB-C keyboard.. so a physical keyboard is not a option)

I had glimpsed a few others and they all seemed to know what they were doing but their explanations seemed to exclude a few things and they posted the commands in a different order than you did and your explanation was the ONLY one that worked for me. Everytime I try add the like in properties in steam it freezes and the cursor disappears and you can't type anything!
Much better to run Windows 10 to download Gamepass games natively IMO ( If you have the storage ) set my nephew up with it last week & grabbed the original serial key from the version of windows on the computer I used to install on the steam deck & so he's got a fully activated version since Microsoft lets you re-use serial keys & everything runs perfect, & the whole mobile computer thing is great also 👍 🔥 💯
But the battery suffers drainage very fast and the fans are always on.
@@biorum If the fans are always on I atleast don't hear them most of the time so I can't tell & the battery life hasn't been an issue either

Have you tried clarity boost in a game? It’s compatible through the Edge Browser so I’m assuming it will work through the SteamDeck Edge Browser.

When i try to change name and launch options in properties, my cursor and buttons stop working so i can't bring the keyboard out
Found out why it did this. Had text highlighted on my browser when i tried to edit the launch options. That messed it all up.

I tried following another’s videos tutorial and assumed I messed something up.. so I found another video and yours is prefect .. but for some reason once I get Xbox game pass open I can move my cursor but get no response from any other controls and i’ve triple checked every step and every letter I’m so confused plz help

Didn't work for me either. I noticed that the Launch Option copy that you have on your Deck is different from mine. Not sure if that's a newer thing. Maybe you could post the whole copy line rather than just the add on as that might help. Thanks for the videos

I just dual boot with windows on an SD card. I play gamepass games locally on my steamdeck, but this pretty cool for those who don't want to do that. Plus I don't have many games on steam.

To anyone that cant get it to work it must be WINDOWS not window under launch options. You MUST add the "s". Otherwise it will NOT open.

First off thanks for the video, secondly I've successfully added game pass and can navigated the menu using my steam deck controls, but when in game they don't work. Anyone else run into this issue?
