      Fascist policies:
      Mussolini:
      8 hour work day
      minimum wage
      worker participation
management of industry had been given over to proletariat organizations
      state secular education
      progressive tax
confiscation of echlesiatical property and revenue.
      Hitler:
      Abolition of unearned income
      confiscation of war profits
      nationalization of corp
      profit sharing in industrial enterprises
reconstruction of national public education so curriculum is brought in line with practical life
      creation of a national press

      More Evidence:
In his 1939 indictment of Nazism, Germany Rampant, Hambloch has an entire chapter on political parties under the German Empire before the First World War and political parties under the Weimar Republic. Hambloch lists parts of the “Left,” “Right” and “Centre” in the German Empire pre-1914, but there are no “Left,” “Right” or “Centre” parties in the Weimar Republic, but rather “Weimar Parties, i.e. those who supported the republican constitution,” “National Reactionary Parties” and “Revolutionary Parties.” The Nazis are listed, along with the Communist Party of Germany, as the two “Revolutionary Parties.” Pointedly, the Nazis were not considered a “National Reactionary Party.”
      Clarification:
In 1930, Hitler tasked Hans Buchner to clarify what Nazi economic policies were. What did Buchner elect to call the economic policies of the Nazis? “State socialism.”
Socialist supported Hitler's rise to power:
Bernard Shaw and other Socialist supported Hitler. "While Parliaments get nowhere, Hitler, Mussolini, and Stalin do things"
      More Policies:
As the Nazis began to become a serious political party, in the 1930s, the Nazi deputies introduced a flurry of proposals:
1.To ban trading in stocks and bonds
      2. To nationalize all large banks
      3. To require registration of stock ownership with a state agency
      4. To limit interest by law to five percent. (Bernie and Elizabeth Warren copied this)
      5. To confiscate all profits acquired by inflation.
These measures were not hidden; they were trumpeted on the front pages of Nazi periodicals to ensure that party members knew what the Nazi Party in the Reichstag was doing. Some Nazi proposals sound eerily modern. The Nazis, for example, proposed that old age and disability benefits (Social Security) be paid out of general revenue, rather than from the contributions of the individual recipient, and that the benefits be indexed to the cost of living.

Overall, I think the 2 major party system in the US has created so many problems today. It seems as if either side will do whatever it takes to keep as much of the power as possible. A couple recent examples of this is the Democratic Party pushing the Green Party off the ballot in a couple of the very important swing states, and the Republican Senate pushing for a new SCOTUS nomination before the election, despite not even voting on Obama’s nomination, Merrick Garland, back in 2016. Like George Washington believed, if there were no parties things could be much better. It would also encourage people to do more research to learn about candidates rather than always voting for left or right.

Depends on which version you use. The European horseshoe model has wings, with both eventually leading to totalitarianism, only real difference is which path is used to get there.
On the straight line model, extreme far right is anarchy (0% government / 100% individual rights and responsibilities, while the extreme far left is just the opposite (100% government / 0% individual rights and responsibilities)
The original Constitutional Republic of the US (20% / 80%) can not be placed on the horseshoe model, because it doesn't go low enough. The bottom of the horseshoe is democracy (50% / 50%) with both wings leading to more government power. This is a HUGE reason that the media constantly calls America a democracy- because it limits individual rights and responsibilities while advocating for more government control.

The thing is, this is the AMERICAN perspective. In Europe the Right is not so much about individual freedoms - if at all - and more about conservative, religious, traditionalist values. I stick to the European understanding.
Also let us remember that Right and Left are historically quite dynamic. Especially Left, which went from radical Social Liberalism of the French Revolution to complete totalitarian Communism a century later. Moderate Liberalism would be the Center (with variation of Center-Left or Center-Right), whereas Fascism and Nazism would be Left-Right Extreme (not simply Left or Right), the opposite of Center.

Who's passing laws restricting people's rights? Who's got armed militias roaming the streets? Who's the side that has growing skepticism in democracy? I'll give you a hint it isn't the left. And even if you don't have a personal problem with gay people your party largely does. Your party is increasingly being influenced by it's worst parts and you're ok with that. People like you enable this behavior by not calling it out and by continuing to normalize and vote for these kooks. You're cool with your gay boss but you'd probably be fine if your boss was a homophobe too.

The far left equals 100% government 0% individual to then far right 90% individualism 10% government. What I find interesting is that, on a world stage, US politics mostly fall in the center and to the right. Meaning, if you were to plop the Democratic party (our "left-wing" party) in any other country, they'd probably be viewed as a centrist party, while Republicans would be a right-wing party. Bernie Sanders and the more progressive members of the Dems (i.e. the Democratic Socialists) would be your typical center-left to left-wing party, on a global scale.
Even more interesting, everyone outside the US flips the color scale. The left is red and the right is blue. Apparently, it was that way in the US until 2000 when the media decided to switch it up, and it's been that way since.

You stated that the Right is generally for less taxes, smaller govt, less regulations, individual liberty, and more of a laissez faire approach to the economy, but then you stated that fascist and/or conservative theories are on the Right? Maybe you're not aware that fascism and conservatism have little to nothing in common. Fascism is anti-capitalist and prefers the govt dictate to private business and industry what their wages, rates, prices, and products will be or won't be. Fascism also believes in larger and more intrusive govt, with more regulations and less personal freedom. Fascism is very authoritarian, basically a dictatorship, where individualism is a no-no and collectivism is the only way of being, thinking or living allowed. You should study the history of Falangist Spain under Franco; Fascist Italy under Mussolini, and Fascist Argentina under Peron, and read Giovanni Gentile's books to better understand that fascism definitely has nothing in common with the Right. Cheers

Interestingly, the colour blue globally is actually associated with centre right and liberalism (UK, Canada, South Africa etc) but the reason why the left and right are coloured as they are in the US is due to an interesting suspect. The media, you see prior to the 2000 U.S elections the colours weren't consistent and largely changed on a media to media basis, the reasons why since 2000 the colours have stayed so consistent is down to a multitude of reasons, but most notably TV network colour choices and media conventions, and thats why since the media and general public sort of grew accustomed to the colour choices, they decided to stick with it for electoral maps and the such.

It’s to the right of communism but considered to be on the left of American liberals or even the Democratic Party.
Nationalism and hierarchy isn’t what defines an ideology as left or right
It’s the measurement of how much government control (left) contrasted by individual liberty (right)

I understand that the labeling of left-right was first used in France during the French Revolution but the French used it to refer to the binary political factions at the time, the revolutionaries and the monarchists. France didn’t have centrists during the French Revolution
Also America didn’t have a monarchist political party when the left right spectrum started being used to describe different political ideologies
On the political compass the left right axis is used to measure government control over the economy with the extreme right being zero control over the economy and the extreme left is total government control over the economy. The political compass foolishly added the up-down axis to measure liberty and tyranny or freedom and authoritarianism in order to make people believe that it’s possible for a government to exercise total control and authority over their people’s Labor, wealth, private property and trade with other countries and still have individual liberty

Fashism is leftist, to put it on the right is what the left has done to distance itself ... it is socialism ... the most perfect form as defined by its philosopher ... the one that created the ideology. his name was Giovanni Gentile, The original symbol of fascism in Italy under Benito Mussolini was the fasces. This is an ancient Imperial Roman symbol of power carried by lictors in front of magistrates; a bundle of sticks featuring an axe, indicating the power over life and death. and Fashism is a bundle of sticks to represent socialism ... oh and they were not nationalists.... Nationalism is an ideology that emphasizes loyalty, devotion, or allegiance to a nation or nation-state and holds that such obligations outweigh other individual or group interests.... . they where imperialist .... imperialism, state policy, practice, or advocacy of extending power and dominion, especially by direct territorial acquisition or by gaining political and economic control of other areas. Because it always involves the use of power, whether military or economic or some subtler form, imperialism has often been considered morally reprehensible, and the term is frequently employed in international propaganda to denounce and discredit an opponent’s foreign policy.

You make the same mistake that virtually everyone in the USA makes when describing the makeup of the modern political spectrum. You start off correctly with how this spectrum came into being in France during the French Revolution. But, then you go on to error in that you basically switch the two as pertains to modern society, in an oft used sleight of hand.
The problem may arise due to the emotionality of politically charged terms, like "liberal," and "progressive" and "conservative" and "Democrat" and "Republican", which are almost always mis-applied in US politics. Therefore, it's best to use language that is more general when discussing politics to illustrate.
The words centralization and decentralization are the most appropriate words to illustrate this accurately. Applying it to the seating arrangement in the French National Assembly during the French Revolution, those who supported the decentralization of public affairs (the Revolutionaries) sat on the left, and became known as "liberals." Those who supported the centralization inherent in the Monarchy, the monarchists (one of many forms of centralized governance), sat on the right. Therefore, it must always be true that decentralization, to differing degrees, makes up the left side of the political spectrum. Likewise, it must always be true that centralization, to differing degrees, makes up the right side of the political spectrum. Lest we're being manipulative (or manipulated) through the bastardization of politically-charged terms.
Therefore, those in modern America who advocate for a smaller "decentralized" government, AKA libertarians and classical conservatives, naturally align with the decentralization of those revolutionaries sitting on the left side in the French National Assembly. While those in modern America who advocate for a larger more centralized government (to promote whatever nice-sounding egalitarian goals such a government can supposedly deliver, yet never does) are the progressives, AKA Democrats and Neo-Conservatives, that logically align with the Monarchists sitting on the right side of the French National Assembly, specifically due to their preference for centralization of power. Notice that progressives span both major US political parties.
The problem is that Progressive Franklin Delano-Roosevelt high-jacked the term "liberal" from the libertarians and classical conservatives traditionally known as such, after the term progressive went out of fashion once Fascists in Europe praised progressivism in the USA as fascism's first successful test on a national stage via The New Deal effort. Progressives needed a re-branding, and FDR delivered by stealing the term "liberal" in his 1937 Chicago speech.
From then on the actual "liberals" in the USA referred to themselves as "libertarians." Progressives, for a long time since that hijacking, were unwilling to give the liberal nomenclature back to the rightful US heirs of liberalism. That is until the word progressive started to become fashionable again over the past two decades or so, now that people no longer publicly remember its connections to its many fascist cousins in Europe. With this development, we authentic liberals (libertarians and classical conservatives) can now take back our liberal nomenclature.
Therefore, as a Constitutional Conservative with libertarian leanings, I recognize that I am accurately placed on the far left of the political spectrum (I would have sat on the left side of the French National Assembly), while Progressives such as Joe Biden and George Bush (both) must be accurately understood to represent the far right of the political spectrum (they would have sat on the right side of the French National Assembly). Lest you accept FDR's innaccuracy and manipulation of terms in his re-branding effort. I personally do not, since I have a preference for accuracy.
With that in mind, I am not making the case that US progressives support a Monarchy in the US (even with Joe Biden's recent utterance of "God save the Queen"). I'm simply making the case that Monarchism is one of many forms of centralized government for which liberals (like me) are against every last one of them. Whether we call those centralized efforts Communism, Solialism, Fascism, Statism, Monarchism, or what-have-you. While progressives drive for a form of centralized government that differs in structure to a monarchy. I mention this in anticipation of progressives responding that they do not support monarchy, as though that proclamation somehow discredits my analysis. Most Americans do not support the idea of having a Monarchic government, including most progressives.
99% of what you "taught" in this video is completely and totally false.

Currently it's felt they're more right but that's not them shifting anything, that's due to the left basically abandoning civil rights and since the Libertarians do conservatism better than Republicans they get that label pushed. Reality is their actual a party of the best conservatives and social liberals. Doing both better than the other parties as both constantly violate their claims to be either. Neither will reduce spending and actually lower taxes if not remove them as they are unconstitutional. The Democrats have abandoned civil rights from privacy to free speech while ignoring constitutional obligations like the border and causing corruption filled war.

How is it that fascism is lumped in with conservativism when it is associated with freedom, and individual liberty? The definitions of fascism directly relate to a 'dictatorial leader, centralized autocratic governments and forcible suppression of opposition' according to just a basic understanding in the dictionary. Both left and right ideologies can lead to 'suppression of the opposition'. Both can lead to a centralized government and do it in the 'interests of the nation.' Dictatatorial movements where the government dictates what the individuals can and cannot do is very present on both sides.
This topic is so large doing it so fast motion is dangerous because it quickly makes the impression the left are not associated with fascism or dictators and the right are. Likewise it makes it sound like the right only wants the rich to get richer and the poor, poorer, when you look at Congress and see them repeatedly making rules for the rich on both sides (despite the campaign promises. The right, if anything is opposed to centralized big government and the left tends to push for more federal control over things.
That part of the video just made no sense. But I love the concept. Perhaps he'll redo it.

the confusion is that people just assume government is the only power structure in society. Corporate power can be just imposing in lives of people if not more so you are more likely to interact with corporations than you are the government and right wingers will usually advocate to strengthen corporate power over others. Keep in mind a lot of the smalle government changes they want usually come from them attacking stuff like worker and labor rights. Anarchist advocate against that type of corporate power. The difference between the left and right is mostly their relationship with hierarchy. Left wing wants to flatten all forms of Hierarchy hence why Anarchist are the furthest to the left (since they want to live in a world with no hierarchy or no unjust hierarchy) while those on the right want to prop up and stratify hierarchy.

    • @therainbowconnection6813
