    Another fantastic video with amazing picks! One of the coolest things about the GBC is that if you liked the NES or games of that era it's almost like it got another chance to dominate the market but with more modern gameplay sentiments with the added bonus of being able to play on the go.

      Thank you man! And agreed! It was like a portable NES (but a bit more powerful), and really had awesome games! What an era to witness in gaming 👍

    I'm glad you were able to step out and talk about gameboy! I think we are okay with mixed content. Loved the list you can really tell these are games you fell in love with. Pokemon yellow was also the reason I wanted a gameboy color and mine was also kiwi green.

The fact that the GB Player is a GC accessory then it opens up a massive library of portable games you can talk about and it's a smart move! Can't wait to see what's next! Great video and keep up the good work!

    Love how this is Gamecube adjecent so it counts, lol. What you mentioned dabout Resident Evil "ammo & health is scarce, so you can't go killing ever enemy" perfectly describes what I didn't do when I played RE2 when it came out back in the day. Lucky I got better at understanding that as an adult, so I can attempt to go through all RE games from now to the end of October.
    Also the zombies dying sound like they're out of Shaun of the Dead to me because the music stops, so I couldn't stop laughing at that part. Great choice for dedicated gameplay section, now I want to play RE Gaiden.
    For me the GBC was all about Mario Golf, Links awakening DX & Killer Instinct. Oh yeah & Pokemon yellow & Silver.

    • @GameCubeGalaxy
      @GameCubeGalaxy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Haha yeah, the Game Boy Player really is a superb companion to the GameCube. Lol about the RE2 experience you had 😂. To be fair, I think any new players to the series would do that same idea, and then be like “oh…I don’t have any more ammo already” lol. I forgot that’s how Shaun of the Dead was with the zombie grunts lol.
      As for some of the games you mentioned, all excellent ones for sure! Thanks again for checking out the video man!

    Great video! I'm not super familiar with the GBC's library so this was an interesting watch. My favourite would be Oracle of Ages, I was really impressed with the dungeons and story. Probably one of the most challenging Zelda games. But of course, Link's Awakening is amazing too!

    For a GBC top ten I’d nominate a game called Warlocked. It’s a tiny little pocket sized RTS - an actual RTS on the game boy colour. Not only that but (for what it is) it’s actually genuinely good. It’s very simple but has all the basic features you’d expect from a classic RTS.

    What an awesome way to incorporate GBC games into your channels format! WARIOLAND 3!!! YES! One of my top favorite gameboy games of all time! I have the same thoughts with Mario golf. They could make an entire game utilizing Wario’s golf mechanics! Who doesn’t wanna elbow some baddies for 9 holes? 🤣🤣🤣 Dude I swear there isn’t a kid from our generation who didn’t either own Pokémon yellow, blue or red version or atleast want one of them lol Awesome list man! Great list! RE Gaiden is so underrated, as is Spiderman. Metal Gear: Ghost Babel is awesome but in North America they called it "Solid", which is false advertising because the game isn't in 3D. I loved the name Ghost Babel.
    By the way, the word "plethora" is pronounced with the stress on the e, not on the o.

    • @GameCubeGalaxy
      @GameCubeGalaxy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Pkm yellow hard.. Nah I had a lot of fun. It was my first pkm game. If I remember right, my pikapi learned irontail and brock turned to gravel. It was fun. Also, if you start with charizard from red/blue, have it learn iron claw. Brock will again turn to gravel.
    I remember breeding my best pkm, and sending the offspring to the next gen game, up until the last 3DS games. After that you had to start spending real money on the service, just to transfer pkm. After that, when my handhelds died, I started all over with emulation. That really boosted my experience and fun. Re-living the fun of starting new adventures, and passing on the pkm champs to the next game... So memorable and fun 😌

      @@GameCubeGalaxy Limited Run Games... Pretty overrated company, I'd say. Always wonder why people always point to Limited Run Games to make physical copies. Once scalpers get their hands on those copies and Limited Run no longer allows you to purchase, they'll resale them on eBay for an arm and a leg (And even more if that game is delisted like the Stranger Things games). Not to mention the absurd delivery times. I understand if it's made-on-demand, but we are talking about games pressed in a factory! Also some versions of the games they put on physical came in packaging that make people think shouldn't be opened in case they worth more than now or have it's value ruin just to play the game. Remembered seeing their Star Wars physical copies that came in packaging based on the Kenner toys, Hasbro Phantom Menace toy packaging and N64-inspired box for Racer and a freaking VHS-inspired case for Force Unleashed (Which is ironic since movie companies in the US stop releasing VHS even before Force Unleashed came out). Even goes out to reproduction cartridges and new prints of the PC games for CD-ROM.
      Only thing I'll give them credit for (And buy from them) are the Carbon Engine rereleases from the PlayStation Store. Excited for the Gex, Tomba and Glover rereleases.

    I also enjoyed RE Gaiden. If you want something that kind of plays like RE 1, but with (kind of bland) separate combat scenes, Alone in the Dark had me really impressed back in the day.
    Spider Man on GBC really brings back memories. I speak Dutch but had the game in French, but I learned a couple of words from it, and enjoyed it throughout many playthroughs.
    Link's Awakening was my first game together with Tail Spin and Tetris, first game of what would become my favourite series,.. and it hasn't aged a bit. I can boot it up and get lost in it immediately - well, not LOST lost, I know it by heart.
    And despite not being a Pokemon fan, I had blue, red, and yellow, caught them all, replayed them several times, and could definitely play them again now.
    Some others on GBC I really loved: Perfect Dark, Cannon Fodder, Bomberman Quest.

    • @GameCubeGalaxy

      So funny enough, I’m currently playing through Alone in the Dark on the GBC, as it’s one I always wanted to play back in the day. While the combat is dull, the visuals during exploration are mind-blowing! Glad to hear another person who played Spider-Man! That’s neat you learned another language a bit from it. Link’s Awakening is a classic for sure, as are Tail Spin and Tetris 👍. The Pokémon 1st Gen games are some I hold near and dear to me, as that’s when the series was huge for me.
      Perfect Dark was an interesting game. I LOVE the N64 game, and had high hopes for the GBC version. But believe it or not, I was disappointed in it due to one main factor…no music during gameplay at all. It pulled me away from overall experience. I enjoyed it quite a bit regardless, but never “loved” it as much as I wanted to lol. Cannon Fodder I need to check out, and know it was a big deal due to the motion video intro it had (which was unheard of for the GBC). Bomberman Quest looks great! Thanks again for checking out the video, and sharing some of your favorites!

      @@GameCubeGalaxy Yeah, I remember NEVER skipping the intro for Cannon Fodder. And uselessly looking around in its "3D" menu. But Sadly, when played on a GBA, later, when I got a bit better in video games in general (it's not an easy game), it had some weird audio glitches. I did eventually finish it with only losing the two first soldiers (Jools and Jobs I seem to remember their names were, but I may very well be completely wrong there). In Perfect Dark, I loved the many different gameplay styles. And I had nothing but a GB and a GBC to compare to so it was all I knew :D
      I was blown away by the visuals of Alone in the Dark, later disappointed when I played it on PS2, and weirdly enough later still, when I played the PS1 version, I was really impressed. I also remember playing Dragon Heart, a game from the movie I saw in theater, but that was a grey cartridge. Still, it was a first person game on a grid during exploration (which could be played top down when looking at the map as well). Nothing TOO special, but combat was quite enjoyable, and was played in a 2d side view. I still have that one mint condition CIB, not that it's worth much on the market, but it means something to me, that's much more important.

    Cool list, but you should have made this a top 11 so you could include Super Mario bros. Deluxe. My favorite gbc game.

    I personally love re gaiden, yes it has its flaws and it’s not a perfect game but I still think it’s really good and a great gbc game plus I’m a resident evil fanatic so if you give my anything resident evil I’ll automatically love it

    Great Video. What you think about the 2 tomb raider games?

    • @GameCubeGalaxy
      @GameCubeGalaxy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! It’s funny, I was considering those since I did enjoy them both quite a bit. I think what hurt those experiences for me a bit were the lack of in-game music for 95% of the game, and only a single save slot, so I never felt like replaying those. Otherwise, they’re both really good games that I enjoyed! Thanks again for checking out the video!

    Spiderman for GBC and GBA are way better than Spiderman games for DS.

    Isn’t Pokémon yellow a standard Gameboy game? Crystal was the Color one

    • @GameCubeGalaxy
      @GameCubeGalaxy  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Even though it had the standard "Game Boy" logo on the front box art, the game was a Game Boy/Game Boy Color hybrid much like the black cartridge games were. The game has full use of the GBC, but the 2nd gen games took full advantage of the GBC hardware being exclusive to that. Hope that helps clarify why Pokemon Yellow is included in my list!

    Isn't Pokemon yellow just a standard Game Boy game?

    • @GameCubeGalaxy
      @GameCubeGalaxy  ปีที่แล้ว

      The box art would indicate that, but the game is technically a Game Boy/Game Boy Color game since it has a full color palette for the GBC. Hope that clarifies it!

    • @goatbone
      @goatbone ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GameCubeGalaxy That makes sense. I suppose it would have been a black cartridge if it weren't yellow.

    • @GameCubeGalaxy
      @GameCubeGalaxy  ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s fair! This one is more of a sentimental game since it was part of my GBC experience when getting the handheld for the first time. I personally really enjoyed it, but I can see people not liking it as much as I did lol. Thanks for checking out the video!

    Pokémon yellow is not a gbc game

    • @GameCubeGalaxy
      @GameCubeGalaxy  23 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Since you can’t change the color palette with the D-Pad when booting up the game (like you could with all other Game Boy games on a Game Boy Color), it technically means it was the equivalent of a black cartridge GBC game. There’s also full color palette use for the main menu, and the Pikachu surfing mini-game). Hope that clarifies why it technically is, and thanks for checking out the video!
