Started collecting for the cube and I have fond memories of many gems for me xmen legends 2 , summoner , gladius and lost kingdoms, rayman 3 are all underrated gems

X-Men Legends 2 is a good one for sure, and agree that Summoner 2 and Lost Kingdoms are hidden gems (Summoner 2 I actually covered in my “GameCube Games NO ONE Talks About” episode, and Lost Kingdoms in my “Top 10 Hidden Gems for the GameCube” 👍). Sphynx was one of my favorite gamecube games growing up. It's shocking that it doesn't get the recognition it deserves. A true hidden gem, thank you for bringing light to it.

Your Hidden Gems/Underrated series is easily my favorite on your channel! There are so many unique games on the GameCube that go under the radar. I'll keep a lookout for Smashing Drive, Kao the Kangaroo (literally sounds like and reminds me of the first Jak & Daxter game), Slug Fest 2004, and Red Card 2003 for my collection. Excellent video!!!

My latest memory of the gamecube had to be when i wld wake up to my older brother ( which had to be around 13 making me 5-6 years old ) im currently 22 . I wld wake up to my brother playing games like def jam vendetta , yu-gi-oh , dbz , Naruto. Etc i wld always fight w him to play next now that im older i been collecting games n got myself a system and reliving memories yea some games are pricey but man the feeling i get when i play these games 2-3 hours .... miss the old times

Another great GC video. You are my ONLY authority when it comes to searching out games to purchase physical copies. One game that (if memory serves correct) that was only ever covered on one of your Licensed Games videos which deserves 'Hidden Gem' recognition is The Italian Job. Since learning about it from you, I have sunk countless hours with both the Traditional gameplay and (even more so) commandeering Stunt Driving section.

Just subscribed. Great content man 👍🏼 I loved slugfest 2004! We need sports games to be like this again! Cel damage & thirteen look amazing. Devs need to see how impactful certain aspects are in games. Animations, feedback gameplay mechanics, unique game modes, playing offline against bots, physics like effects, damage effects, artistic design style is much more important than graphics ever will be.

I've heard of a few of these [least of all Kao the Kangaroo because I'm in Australia]. I had played XIII, but only a bit of multiplayer with friends back in the day.

I’m very disappointed that Mary Kate & Ashley Sweet 16 Licensed to Drive didn’t make the list, but surely it’s because you’re saving that gem for a future (at minimum 45 minute) documentary video detailing the revolutionary mechanics and deep story telling the game has to offer.

Blood Omen 2 is one I’ve been wanting to try out and cover for sometime, and man I was hooked when I was playing it for this episode lol. I don't know...I have so many overlooked games - Pro Rally and Tube Slider for racers, Aggressive Inline, the Street series, World Series of Poker 2005, Serious Sam: Next Encounter, Roadkill, Summoner: A Goddess Reborn, Darkened Skye, Geist, Bloody Roar Primal Fury, etc.

Excellent List! I too can endorse Smashing Drive. Such a great game I discovered about a year ago. It's hard to find true hidden gems on the gamecube because the Library is so small. Three more worth a look if you haven't already:
-Extreme-G Racing Association (Feels more like the true sequel to the N64s Extreme-G I and II. More focus on combat. Extreme-G III on the gamecube felt more like a streamlined wipeout clone. The stage design in Racing Association is AAA.) Edit: I see you already covered this game in your past videos. Thumbs up!
-Robotech Battlecry (Cel-Shaded Mechs)
-Smuggler's Run Warzones (gamecube exclusive "remaster" of Smuggler's Run 2 on PS2)

I was working at Nintendo during the GameCube era and Redcard was second only to Mario Kart as my favorite game to play during lunch break. It's well worth checking out.

Hannah got me Sphinx for the Switch for Xmas, but I had to return it (it was the PAL version). Definitely can’t wait to play it.

Well, sure. The GameCube and SEGA Saturn are my main collecting focus. They're definitely the consoles for which I have the most games, at least 60+ for each, at last count. Been awhile since I actually got a solid count, though.

I miss the Midway sports games!! The GameCube was the first console I played that really got me into playing games other than just sports games (RE4, MGSTS, LoZWW)…but funny enough, I initially wanted a gamecube BECAUSE OF a sports game. A friend brought over his GC with NHL Hitz 2002 and we played it all night…. so I wanted a gamecube specifically for Hitz 02! Now I gotta check out Slugfest and Redcard! So many good GC games, it’s hard to keep up

Gotta gush about XIII a little lol. Hands down my second favorite fps of that generation. Timespliters both 2 and 3 got first place anyways XIII stands out because of its own original take on fps genre. The Story was too hard for me when I was younger, so I played multiplayer with bots for most of my playthrough at the time. There is a couple different game modes and a decent select number of maps they do differ by the number of players per map but don't let that dismay you all the maps are great. Good selection of weapons and hidden spots to find. Coming back as a adult and finally finishing the story this is a 9/10 still for me. Great Video bud thanks.
XIII really is a game that is heavily underrated, and glad to hear the multiplayer is really great also! While TimeSplitters 2 and Future Perfect are among the best FPSs available on the GameCube, XIII is a banger for sure. Thanks for checking out the video and sharing your experience with that game!

XBOX -version is also without any loading times (just to mention for those who has not NGC).

We loved Cel Damage back in the day. The rerelease took away the instant kill element which is what made the game. Original or nothing.
That’s what I heard about the HD version, and many complained about. I can see how that detracts from the chaos the original provides. I wish I played this one back in the day, cause I would’ve seen that being a multiplayer favorite for sure. Thanks for checking out the video!
Sorry I can't remember if you've done these games already, but Ty the Tasmanian Tiger trilogy are well worth a look, although they move further away from platforming as they go, much like the Jak & Daxter Trilogy.

Always regret bowing out of Nintendo as the GameCube arrived. Was faithful through N64 then switched to the PlayStation and never got a Nintendo device afterwards.
A lot of people jumped off Nintendo when the GameCube arrived sadly, but I could see why. At the time, the PS2 was already out a year, and having DVD playback was an enticing aspect. Thanks for checking out the video!

Yeah, actually I did know about cel damage, XIII, and Blood Omen. But I didn't know Kao was good, or Sphynx, or Smashing drive.
The Gamecube really seems to me like the sweet spot for videogames history, in which the technology was there, and the fun and passion and creative design philosophies came together, right before gaming became truly mainstream and completely changed forever.
And your channel is great for finding great underrated games! Keep it up!
The GameCube (and 6th gen consoles) really were the sweet spot of gaming. The creativity was through the roof, and so many sublime experiences. Really means a lot hearing you’re enjoying the channel!
Smashing Drive is one I'd like to eventually get into my collection. I've had it in my hand a few times just haven't pulled the trigger. Looks like stupid fun haha. Kao the Kangaroo reminds me of that terrible movie from the early 2000s... I can't think of the name but that automatically makes me think poorly of this game. Thankfully this game looks really fun! Even cooler there is a new installment on current gens. Cel Damage I believe I might have on the Xbox... it looks good and I like the cel-shading. Four player mode would be awesome. MLB Slugfest would be a lot of fun, I've never played that series but did enjoy the NFL Xtreme series. (Not Blitz). Sadly, my beloved team the Cleveland Indians were deemed too offensive and were renamed, so I've quit watching baseball. Bummer because I loved the sport. This would be a fun game to relive that era. Those unique stadiums look rad. I don't think I've even heard of RedCard. Interesting... I see Defender all the time and it's like $5. I've never picked it up though because it's so cheap I just assumed something was wrong with it. It looks really good though. XIII is one that I had a demo of. I thought it was fun as a kid, but haven't played it since. I heard the remake was terrible. I have a few of the Sphinx games on Xbox I believe. I've always been curious on it, seems like a solid game. The Tut torture seems like clever puzzle solving. I've never heard of Bomberman Jetters, that's pretty cool. Blood Omen is one i need to get into. I know there are games that are related to it, I remember the ads in my PlayStation Magazine. I thought the cover was rad. Oh man, Smashing Drive is definitely worth it if you can get it. Is Kangaroo Jack the movie you're referring to about Kao? It's quite a fun game in all seriousness though. Cel Damage is one I can see you enjoying, especially the humor in it. MLB Slugfest is EASILY a game you need to play! Yeah, I can't stand the team name changes that have happened for various sports recently. Highly unnecessary. Defender is very much worth $5 lol. XIII is a game I had also played to the demo to back in the day, and wish I actually picked it up back then after playing it more recently. I googled cell damage and defender and they were released for the xbox and ps2 too most games were releasedfor the three consoles: Cel Damage is a vehicular combat video game developed by Pseudo Interactive and published by Electronic Arts. The game was first released for Xbox on 14 November 2001, and for GameCube on 7 January 2002, in North America respectively. In Europe, the game launched for both consoles on 3 May 2002. A Europe-exclusive PlayStation 2 port, titled Cel Damage Overdrive, was released as a budget title by System 3 under their Play It label on 12 December 2002.

I acually picked up XIII recently for 5$ which was a steal and it runs really well i also have blood omen 2 and it's dirt cheap to buy dependimg on what you are looking for.
Oh awesome man! $5 is a steal of a price for sure! Blood Omen 2 is really good too, but I think the GC version is the priciest one if I’m not mistaken (still in a reasonable price range though). Thanks again for checking out the video!

Well technically the only Gamecube game in the video is Bomberman, the rest are just multiplat games.
And yes Bomberman is pretty much underrated in most consoles.

Smashing Drive is a solid game. I played through it last month as my GameCube choice for my 14 console challenge.
Cel damage I need to give some more time to. I played it for a bit to test the disc and I wasn't impressed.

Cel Damage I was digging as a mindless Twisted Metal clone, but really liked the aesthetic and art direction. Once I got used to the handling, the game clicked more for me. If you don't mind me asking, and forgive me if I'm mistaken, but, why do you use emulation for the game footage in your videos instead of direct capture from original hardware?
Everything you see in gameplay is 100% direct capture from original hardware since I started the channel day 1. I even state that in the description of every video, sharing what I’m using to capture the footage. Hope this clarifies things a bit!
@GameCubeGalaxy my apologies. I guess the mClassic is what was throwing me off since the footage looked better than what I've personally experienced with my gamecube using an EON HDMI adapter. Sorry for not noticing the notes in the video description. Thank you for the information.

It is, and I forgot to mention the HD version. However, I've heard the HD version wasn't as good, and several aspects were changed for the worse supposedly. That being said, I felt it was still good to highlight considering this was the game's inception. Thanks for checking out the video!

Nice! Yeah I was aware of that, and have it on there too actually, but never tried it yet lol. I meant to mention the HD version in the Cel Damage segment, but realized it after the video went live lol.
Sphinx seems great. You can play it on Xbox One and Series X/S although sadly they removed it from the Xbox Store so unless they bought it beforehand then Xbox One S All-Digital and Xbox Series S gamers can't play it. Also the game is ported to PC and Switch as well. I'm guessing why they delisted the Xbox version because I heard rumors that they might port it to PS4/5 and Xbox One/Series, but that hasn't happened yet and in my opinion ports for newer PlayStations and Xboxes are overdue.
Sphinx is such a great game, and it’s a shame it never got the recognition it deserved. Also, that’s the perfect point to why a digital-only storefront is a disaster. Luckily it’s still available digitally for Switch, and you can still find physical copies on Switch as well. Thanks for checking out the video man!
News: I am saving up for a Steam Deck for one reason. Emulating games. I am gonna emulate GameCube, PS1, PS2, PSP, N64, NES, SNES, Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, Master System, Genesis, Sega CD CD, 32X, Saturn, Dreamcast and Game Gear. I may dabble into Turbo Grafx and some Ataris and maybe 3DO as well. Those systems will give me more than enough gaming. Literally I was drooling because of all the potential games I could play on it.@@GameCubeGalaxy

I tried to order KAO on the Switch from LRG. It kept getting delayed so I cancelled it. 😂
Probably better off getting the PAL version, or waiting for another publisher to release it in the US, since LRG games have been getting other publishers to release games to the general public lol.

So id like to know if im hearing a voice coming from a fellow millennial who twuz blessed by the God of graphical games and of all times in existence chose us as recipients that experienced gaming at the time it was getting its momentum on its way to the monster money maker of today. To be young enough the nes was in its last days and see every step from then as it absolutely amazed with each step forward with not just amazing graphics but technical advancements in game mechanics with the experience of creators now able to push the limits of what they know and not be learning how the code is working for a system.
When people say they wish they were born earlier or later so they were able to be something different was a saying i thought id agree with till i realized i got the best life for someone who claims they love game's more than anyrhing else in life.

While Twilight Princess is a great game, there are better games for the console in my opinion. The best GC game would probably go to Resident Evil 4 for me.

There are still many who have nostalgia for the GameCube, and the console has actually never been more popular as of late. It’s more a case of living this nostalgia amongst fans of the console, whether old or new, while providing high-quality content that the console deserves. I also always had a passion for the GameCube, so this channel is a passion project for me. I could cover “all Nintendo” but then I’d be no different than a lot of other channels that do the same (many of which do it very well too). Hope that clarifies a bit why I focus on the GameCube!
