- Dr. Shipon teaches the essence of Reiki in 10 minutes. Dr. Shipon is a licensed psychologist in New Jersey (#4738) and has been a Reiki Master for 16 years. In this video, Dr. Shipon explains how the feeling of gratitude, all by itself, can attune a person to the Reiki vibration. He also briefly explains the concepts of the three Reiki 2 symbols, and how to use them.

Sage is overrated, you really don't need a physical reagent to do magical work. Certainly not to banish.
While watching this video, I did not only practice a feeling of gratitude for a certain person, but for everything around me. Breathing in positivity and breathing out all the bad. And for some inexplicable reason near the end of the video I started smelling a very nice, flower-like aroma of which I still don't know where it comes from. It gave me instant goosebumps and made me tear up. Maybe it had been there all along and I didn't notice it until now, I don't know. I have a feeling that a bad energy inside of me blocked me from smelling such a positive and comforting aroma and has been released after I had replaced that bad energy with positivity. I'm getting there.
it is possible that someone is past over a loved one a grandmother a ant..... is on that moment whit you..and let you smell its there way of a communication they do so a flowersmel a parfum or a sigar smel from a grandfather...its there way to show you we hear you we now you think of us...hope it make sence what i try to explain.. my englisch not verry good

The 1st statement about life is that we are all Souls having a physical experience.
So how do you work with a system called Reiki?
Always test for Liars and Cheats, always test never just trust.
About 100 years ago it is claimed that a Buddhurst Monk sat in meditation and received Reiki.
The believers accept that and do not want to go any further and rely on Hypotheticals and Assumptions to further their claims that it is all Universal Life Force Energy.
They ignore the statements made in the Christian Bible and the Koran about Spiritual Gifts?
These Gifts are given by Holy Spirit at conception and as the Buddhurst claim for the next 47 days.
They can also be accepted or rejected during the lifetime.
So along comes somebody who claims that you can connect to Universal Life Force Energy and that is what has supposed to have happened to a Japanese Buddhurst Monk Mikao Usui.
But is that what really happened? Could it have been that his Spiritual Gift of Healing was what was activated later in life, that we will never know? But many will claim it and call it Reiki and described as Universal Life Force Energy.
There is another suggestion to ‘What is Reiki’ and it resolves around the physical and being able to raise the vibrations of the Energy Centres (Chakras) within the physical body. These Chakras are all connected to all of our living systems and by raising their vibrations above what they have been assists in the healing aspects of the person.
So what is this other definition of the system of Reiki?
‘Working with the Frequencies of Energy and Vibration’.
But the question then is how. By the use of Words/ Symbols/ Numbers written as sentences and applied to Chakras and retained. By going down this path we are able to develop an exercise that display their effects, is that what real researchers do, provide proof.
An exercise; Hold an object in 1 hand and with the other hand over the object write your name then hold the hands together, what may you feel. Is it universal Life Force Energy or something else?
It is your 1st Aid Kit connecting to your living systems and removing dis-ease so that you physical can self heal. No Hypotheticals or Assumptions but a physical awareness.
So now we have some idea as to how words work as Affirmations. By hold the object in your hands the small chakras in the hands connect to your living systems and start to remove dis-ease.
So what if Affirmations are applied to the main Chakras and then retained is that Reiki. Unfortunately after 100 years and so many that have the misgiven beliefs about Reiki then how to change something and except a different reality.
How to Test the retention; We may not be able to change the ways that people have in their beliefs but when somebody puts their hands either in person or at a distant over the Crown they may, as it was with me, do you want the good News or the Bad, my choice was the bad 1st, what was detected was a movement down into the body, no Reiki. The good news is that it can be repaired. Always test.
Reiki is simple but it is not spiritual, you may have Spiritual Gifts and they will be enhanced by any increase in the vibrations of the Chakras but unless those vibrations are retained then they will fade back to what they originally were. The choice is yours so use it wisely.

Someone asked me what the "Reiki view on depression" is.
FIrst, I'm going to tell you that I'm a licensed psychologist in New Jersey (#4738) and if anyone experiences depression, the first thing to do is seek a licensed person for treatment.
That said, we can assume two things. 1) Depression is something no one wants to experience 2) Therefore being depressed is nothing that a person in an optimal state of physical, emotional and spiritual health should be experiencing.
Reiki should help.

What a wonderful and clear video, on Reiki.
I learned Reiki by accident when I was 14. I didn't realize there was a name for it until today. I'm 28 now. It just feels nice to know that I'm not weird being able to do this. It feels like a ball of energy swirling in a circle between your palms. You can make it bigger or smaller, and you can actually feel it keeping your hands from touching and pushing them apart, depending on how big or small you make it. It's kind of funny that they animate it eerily accurately in animes like Dragonball Z. (But unlike anime, you can't use it to fight.) : P

You're absolutely right, my instructor is a level 1 reiki practitioner and she said pretty much verbatim what you have just said. She had the class do a basic reiki exercise where we shared energy with one another.

It surprises me that those interested in reiki, or any non invasive healing techniques, who are supposed to be compassionate, caring people. Could be so opposed, and so negative in their comments towards this gentleman, who on first impressions has a very gentle soul, and a compassionate nature. Practice what you preach people, LOVE 💗 AND TOLERANCE, this is just one persons view and I don’t think he in no way means, to discredit the work of those individuals who have spent ten hours in a class, as opposed to this man who has managed to strip it down in one digestible and more easily understood format. Don’t be so negative, sometimes your comments are not needed. I think this is a great video and I applaud him for teaching me more in ten minutes, than a class could in ten hours. I was led to Reiki today, after getting chest pains healed with EMDR.
My DV trauma caused so many diseases and I’m tired of the meds. When I was a child in the Philippines, my grandma to healers. I was always drawn to them. I found this video, and it was truly inspiring. What my mama has done when she was alive: laying her hands on us and healed us, was actually her using that life force to heal.

I think that's a great idea. My dog was hit by a car a couple years ago, and since her death was so sudden, it's always felt unresolved as I never got to say goodbye. I even blamed myself for not saying goodbye to her that morning as I left for work, telling myself I'd give her love when I got home - and her sad face as I left the house was the last I saw of her. I'll try to concentrate on her energy as I'm learning Reiki. I hope it can help me find closure.

I think it is all down to a person's intention and desire, so everyone can heal another or themselves. "When the pupil is ready the master will appear."
meh, partly. I don't think Dr S fully understands what Dr Usui was doing. Usui ran a spiritual/mystical school, period. Spiritual-leaning Japanese elites and military officers composed most of his classes. Reiki was a core part of that overall spiritual and mystical training. What came down through Takata was transformed into something more new age. There are things that Usui and Hayashi did that either Takata did not know or did not bother to pass down. These things were preserved in the Japanese lineages. Reiki is part of a mystical estoteric lineage. Meaning, to have the full connection, you must be with an initiated Reiki Master and get the attunements in person. There is no way around this an it has to do with how esoteric transmission is done (in person). If you disagree then you really don't understand whats going on in an esoteric teacher/master and student relationship. This video is fine for an augmented meditation. Just don't expect it's a substitute for being in the presence of a sincere and genuine Reiki master.

I'm a Reiki Master & I agree with you. Atunements by Reiki Master's is essential to channel the Reiki healing energy. He got the order of the symbols wrong too, he described Cho-Ku-Rei as the 3rd symbol whereas it's the 1st. I could go on with other things I didn't agree with but I'm choosing to end my comment with words of higher vibrations... his intention was to help 🙏🙌💖

as a Reiki practitioner of 20 years and Master of 3 years this is not how you teach reiki. Reiki is the universal life force we have around us. why would you want to only spend 10 minutes learning something so remarkable, Reiki master in Japanise is Reiki Teacher, Meditation is one thing and Reiki attunment is another. This is not Reiki attunment and will give calm feeling because ofcourse feeling gratetude will make you feel good, there are more things than one that can make you fell calm and good. But its not the foundation of being attuned into Reiki. Reiki is channeling the reiki energy for yourself and for others. He might mean well but this is not Reiki. However I did feel the Reiki energy come when I called it, with gratitude the energy went through my entire body and I could see it go to the person I sent it to. I think this benevolent loving presences wishes for unconditional love for all and will come when requested with ease and grace, no complexity it is an omnipresent beautiful, unconditionally loving energy, for all sentient life. life.is.complex because there is freedom of speech,and maybe when you see someone who is really sick and that person can be cured in a medical hospital and that person decides you use reiki and you see it does nothing for them,and that person dies. When all they had to do was go to a hospital and they would have been fine, But its frauds like this doctor that drain peoples money and health by spouting out this pompous bullshit and really believing they are helping people,when in fact they destroy them. Maybe that's why people will comment
Goes for both ways. You should try to use the whole spectrum of possibilities and experience what works.
I have seen and experienced healing that wasn't the regular western one, and without certain people wouldn't be healed.
