This cheese is so amazing! I've only had it twice and both times packaged as rosettes but I would love to experience it freshly curled. I may have to treat myself and splurge for a whole wheel and Girolle. Maybe for my birthday. 🥰
Tete de moine is my favorite cheese ever. I wish I can buy it where I live...
minaly22 same used to happen to me... just a week ago they opened a high end supermarket that has it... I know how you feel.
@@erickg3508 By the way, do you eat with the girolle? I found that there is a way for me to buy the cheese for a reasonable price, but if I want the girolle the price is quadrupled and I am very torn about acquiring one. I kept trying to find information on how to eat tete de Moine without the girolle, but found absolutely nothing

@@minaly22 wanted to add that if you love cheese, you can use the girolle with other types of cheeses, not only with the tete de moine.
Either mine has gone bad or you have weird taste in cheese, because the one I bought is absolutely rancid.

I just picked it up at the grocery store because it was 50% off. Unbelievable flavor explosion so I had to see what this cheese was all about! Hands down my most favorite cheese!

Sehr gutes Video, ich liebe diesen Käse seit Jahrzehnten. Besonders gut schmeckt es mit Senf zb aus Feigen oder Birnen. Dazu etwas Baguette und das war's schon. Probiert es einfach aus, es ist unglaublich lecker ☺️☺️☺️
So... it sounds like you get the best results with the girolle when the cheese is refrigerator temperature. If I am serving it throughout the course of an evening, is it best to leave the head in the fridge and shave as needed?
Thank you for asking. It works also if the cheese is not very cold but as cooler is the cheese as easier is to scrapping it.
I bought this cheese recently in Australia, I feel a little ammoniac taste, this is normal?

I bought this cheese today. Wanted to try something new and it was expensive so I thought it would be cool. I was very excited. I unwrapped the cheese and it smelled HORRIBLE, like faeces. I don't know how people eat it but it is certainly a unique.
It's a tasty cheese and an interesting story but WHO decided to tell it from the first person of the... CHEESE.
