cheating makes the series interesting
Granted the last two episodes basically nothing happened. If it prevents the series from being complete blowouts where one side doesn't play anything I'm all for it.

@@Chaosfly10 Is it funny? It was funny when doug did it - but when farfa cheats its often not because hes screaming "BAAAT" or doing a zoomer bit while doing it.
That being said i DO like it when "cheating" is just a recurring bit. xD

It turned out the real Gsrbage Lord was the deck we crafted along the way.
I really like the idea that Doug always plays yugioh with his mouse on his cat's stomach bc they're always on his mouse pad, but this is just the first time we're hearing of it.
the only thing more surprising than farfa's blatant disregard for the rules is the fact that doug played a 40 card deck.
The amount of cheating in this series is hilarious AND scary
Well, I think it's bad to cheat but with Steelswarm and Heraldic, if you don't cheat is basically forfeit

@@megalowie1324 Sad thing is, Heraldic's whole schtick is being an anti-XYZ archetype, so in a vacuum sharks should have been the best possible matchup for them. He could blank any one he wanted with Patriarch, and steal the shark effects to pop monsters and get in for damage, at the very least.
Honestly... I'd say the Assault Mode pack probably needs to have a special rule where you can craft one Assault Mode and one of the Synchro that goes with it, it's WAY too specific otherwise.
And maybe one Assault Mode Activate if they happen to not pull one.
Maybe like, they can craft the opposite guy.
Like if they pull Stardust Assault Mode and no other assault modes and no Stardust, they can craft Stardust. Or if they pull only the synchro they get to craft one of the corresponding Assault Modes.
Also they get at minimum 1 Assault Mode Activate if they didn't pull it since the pack is literally unplayable without it
Assault Mode Activate is R rarity in Master Duel which for some reason are generally easier to pull then N rarity cards and they get to craft an SR card to unlock the pack.
The problem with the pack is that you have to somehow get the Synchro monster on the field and the pack has a severe lack of good main deck monsters other then Psi-reflector & Assault Sentinel (which is a 1 card combo), honestly I could still see it doing better then Heraldic Beasts.
@@exLightningg I know. I'm sure we all watched Master Saga last season. I was just saying because bad luck is a thing, and stuff like that can happen, however unlikely.
i would suggest to allow the craft of 1 of the synchro monsters if the respective assault mode is pulled and the copies of that synchro are less than the copies of the assault mode monster.
I think the best part about this series is you guys both clearly are just enjoying yourselves. Not taking things really too seriously, and are just really having fun

the character who played the heralic monsters in zexal was Byron Arclight or better known as vetrix in the english dub, and tron in the japan sub.

I will propose that cheating is lame and unfun if the cheater wins, but based and hilarious if the cheater gets 0-2d.
Petition to increase the packs opened per episode to 30, so Farfa doesn't have to cheat to make a deck work.
I’m only at the point where Farfa gets his pack, but I loved playing Heraldic Beasts back in the day for my fun deck with friends. I didn’t win a lot, but it was fun playing

Skipping the assault mode pack hurt
The fact that farfa played garbage lord, but didn’t play the heraldic to make it level 4 is upsetting. The synergy is right there!
Doug could have used Torpedo Takedown after Salvage to boost Leviathan Dragon and easily clear the Skypalace. He missed out on a ton of easy damage and would have been able to keep Nightmare on field. He still won but Farfa would have been in a way worse position.
Man, as someone who loved Vetrix in the anime, it hurts to see his archetype suck so bad. 😂

@@spinni5767 there are some decent things it can do, though it's pretty bad here in sealed with no Advanced Heraldry Arts and being restricted to in-archetype XYZ/extenders...

I really wish Genome Heraldic was a good card. Stealing both the stats and effect of a monster is such a strong effect, but the fact that it only works on xyz and only lasts for a single turn is absolutely miserable
I think the fact that it requires "Heraldic Beast" monsters is the main problem, because it makes it unplayable regardless of its effects. To me, it would see play in rank 4 decks as removal, going-second, against other XYZ decks, sometimes even copying funny effects. It IS a niche use, but the card wouldn't be useless, like right now.
In the anime it doesnt have that restriction and it has even more effects

@@n-icebeam Eh, Heraldic Beasts aren't the worst, especially with 2 separate spell cards that just get you to an xyz by themselves. They are definitely dated, and really need a revamp though, maybe make the more monsters that copy effects

The cheating is funny, and for those especially unplayable archetypes, like heraldic and steel swarm, I think allowing crafts with in archetype is fine. Cause if anybody had a semiplayable deck like the past two weeks were steel swarm vs red eyes, heraldic vs sharks. I’d rather you two have fun , back and forth games then one sided smack downs, I have duel live for that.
As the only Shark player, I feel immense pain throughout this episode. Another great video!

I know Heraldic Beasts are not remotely good, but Leo, 18, Unicorn, and Twin-Headed Eagle are super sick specifically. 18 dies and sends two Heraldics, revive 18 with Unicorn, use Twin-Headed Eagle to attach Leo back and triggering both 18 and Leo to send and search is such a fun interaction and if we get some actual payoffs with a new wave of support this deck could be really cool.
Hold up, reviving with unicorn negates the effects iirc

I think for the bottom of the barrel you should always pull 30 cards to have somewhat of a deck
It's probably getting to a point where 2 people with broad archetype knowledge can parse through the packs for packs to be deemed unplayable without extra packs. Doing so though feels like it goes against what the spirit of the series is trying to put forth; rolling the dice and trying to made do with what you were given. But then we had episodes like this with Heraldic Beast, Worm/Graydle, and GX Elemental HERO, so I don't know.

This would be very time intensive and really tricky, but maybe you add a certain amount of packs you get based off how good the pack is? Like make it so youd get 30 for heraldic and if you got the danger kaju pack maybe like 15 or something?

Seeing Sharks reminded me of when I built sharks in MD and pulled a Royal Finish Quick Chaos.
I feel like asssault mode is one of the best packs left in the wheel, it can actually do some nice things using only commons and rares, though you would prob need a decent amount of rares to make it work
I loved the Heraldic deck it was my favorite archetype I wish it had more love though
For things like Cxyz and Number C cards, yall should be able to craft their regular variants if you don't pull them. Bunch of them are basically useless without their original as materials. Same for things like Assault mode cards, fusion monsters, etc. So many cards in these packs are basically useless if you don't pull a certain card or if you don't have a specific card from other packs.

I know some people are complaining about the cheating, but it honestly was necessary for Farfa to even have a chance this episode. Had he not cheated, it would have been an auto-lose in each match because his first 20 packs were honestly terrible. It wouldn't have made for a good episode.

I'd love a series with 40 master packs you pick one card from each pack to use. Then pick any 5 cards you want for your Extra deck.

What might need to be done, and sadly you'll need playtesting before it can be implemented, is this:
Instead of one giant wheel containing every secret pack, divide the secret packs by their sealed-environment viability into three wheels-- Strong, medium, and weak.
Then just alternate which wheel both players spin from each week to try to make the resulting matchups a bit more consistently balanced.
Though I suppose seeing y'all perform spy-vs-spy cheating shenanigans IS amusing. 🤣

At this point i think randomly 1 cheat is allowed per episode with how consistent it is
Given that both of you are cheating multiple episodes, you might want to add it as a "Deal" mechanic - after pulls, you meet up and both say what card you want to craft that you have 0 copies (so its not for dupes), and if both of you agree then you craft it. Do it 3 times (so maybe you can go for the same card with a different offer). Itll be neat even on no crafts, because it also gives deck knowledge of what your opponent doesnt have.

To be in favor of the cheating.. One was Master Duel just not having 2 very important cards in the "we don't talk about it" packs than the designated secret pack. The other cheat was regular Master Duel not giving the bare minimum of playability, as well as stuffing the secret pack with non-important cards that are only in there because Anime and honestly should have been Master/Legacy pack cards. I'll allow those cheats.

The worse these cards/pulls get, the harder they're going to have to cheat to get to something remotely playable.

I thought the cheating was funny the first time, and the second time to a lesser extent, but it's wearing out its welcome. It's better as a surprise rather than an expectation.
I want you two to cheat *more* please make this series just playing constructed of every deck. It's more fun than seeing a brickfest every other episode.

First time there was cheating on the series, it was a funny little thing. After that it's just shitty and makes me want to drop the series. Either you deal with what you're given, or make official rules to counter bad luck/unbalanced decks.
