I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the W222 S class is the best S class ever designed. The overall elegance and presence that this one has cannot be matched. When the V12 starts up in the S65, you know it means business 👏👏
Wholeheartedly agreed! The W221 and W222 are some of the best S classes in modern MB history. The last of a kind where they meant the business in how they were built and felt. The W222 is the last generation to go out with a bang on the powertrains. V8 and V12! Torque for days...
Truuu ~ this isn’t about straight line acceleration, it’s about the experience of hearing such a unique V12, how much power it has, and just being able to brag that you have a V12 powered AMG vehicle 😄😄😄
Honestly agreed~~ this S class, the W222, was the best S class in terms of tech, elegance, presence, and everything. It proved that luxury and usability can be done right. The newest is too crazy in terms of tech in my opinion. Plus this S65 with that 6.0L twin turbo V12 is a special AMG car that is not about the straight line acceleration but the fact that it makes a statement as being the absolute pinnacle of the S class lineup and how over the top it is. It’s about the overall experience.
That's a good thing, 0-100 is BS in real world driving we usually use rolling acceleration a lot more (above 80 kph or 50 mph) 4WD system does put more weight to the car and more HP loss due to its more friction in transmission system than the RWD, overall it will go slower at high speed + drink more fuel and cost more compare to RWD. sorry for my English, not good with it.
one of the legendary, timeless Mercedes models. Next time we would like to see the Brabus version of this 😍 (Rocket 900). I'm sure it would be devastating.
The W222 and W221 are by far the best S-Class ever made. It was a big interior design mistake to have changed elements like the brushed aluminum buttons and switches to jump on the stupid trend in cars with screens everywhere for any function.
Fabulous car ! - Glad to see they are still using the mighty V12 for the S65 AMG model.... almost 20 years since the original W220 S65 came out in early 2004 with the same engine. I would love to see the M156 V8 engine being used again only with a Bi-Turbo setup and over 700 hp this time round 🙂

My fav car keeps changing and this has always been in my list but now its on top and my new fav dream car v12, luxury, speed, power, very difficult to beat such a combination specially now Mercedes not making v12 but instead hybrids and electric and their interior have less dashboard and more screens so yeah this is pinnacle all in one car experience and for those who love more power brabus rocket 900 hp s65 is the choice
It would be interesting to see how quiet it is inside past 230. In an old F10 it gets so noisy inside when going past 230 kmph. And it also gets quite unstable when reaching 250 making you forget about delimiting it electronically, because there's simply no reason for that. With this in mind, it would be great to see how good this Merc is for this tremendous money.
@@schwagier It's either you heaven't driven a 550i, or this level of noise is acceptable and comfortable to you. It's way louder @ 250 kmph than when you do 220-230. If you read carefully, you'll see I've been talking about delimiting F10 to get it ready for 250+. It goes well at speeds up to 250 but it's much more unstable at 250 than it is at 230.
