Curious how you go about choosing your lure color. Is it based on water/weather conditions or just what has worked in certain areas previously for you? Your videos got me into spinner fishing this last summer when I moved to the Wausau area and I’m really looking forward to another year! Thanks for sharing your adventures. Happy fishing and tight lines
I mostly use gold and silver blades and bodies. I think the colors are for the angler, not the fish. Lol. I tend to use silver in dirtier water and gold in clearer water. Definitely need yellow or fire tiger for salmon and steelhead. Happy fishing!
Hi, recent subscriber here. Enjoy your videos! I’m also from WI, up in Chippewa County. New to trout fishing so trying to learn as much as I can. Any advice on size of lures for these smaller wi trout streams and rivers? I’ve been using panther martin - anywhere between size 2 to size 6. I’ve went out a few times last week and seem to have found some pretty small trout. Troubles getting the lure to drop in the big holes where I feel some of the bigger fish would be. Tried a jig and microworm as well but not a lot of luck. Last question for you. Do you find yourself fishing a certain class river more often? There are a few class 1’s near me but mostly class 2
@@79gbell I use 0 2 4 and 6 mostly in Jan Feb. Fish have been hitting 15 9 and 6. The class system is quickly outdated. Unless a class 3 it doesn't matter much. 1 and 2 both have natural reproduction, 2 gets supplemental stocking. This time year I fish undesignated water in many places. The trout will be in holes and low for another few weeks. Good luck. Happy fishing!
Ever try the daiwa j8 super slick braid!? So far my favorite!
I have used J8. Color bleeds quick and I didn't care for it compared to Power Pro. Happy fishing!
