    Hey Edward the computer Kygo uses is the iMac Pro (the space gray) and it’s much more expensive than the regular iMac and the specs are much more than the ones you mentioned. The cheapest one is $5,000 usd. Still great video, keep on going!

    Hey, mate, I'm not sure what's so "insane" about his studio setup. One who sees that title may believe that he or she will find a ton of gear to please their eyes with this video. But surprise: it's a basic studio set-up. But hey, you got us to click on it. Sorry, mate, you have a dislike from me for the clickbait title.

    Bro, impossible that Kygo will use an audio interface with so low quality and semi professional RCA connectors. Yes he uses UAD as you can see on that video. Right bellow the mac the small black box is a UAD satellite power processing unit, and bellow it mounted in the rack of the desk his UAD unit. His monitors are connected to an old model Mackie BigKnob.

    I disagree on your statement on the NS10s, they were not chosen because they were "Bad", they are use so much because of the "Flat" Sound, which is important when you Mix. The HS5 for exempel, have also a really Flat Sound, and they are great.
    Flat in trems of a really Basic uncompressed Sound whit no Extra Bass or Fancy EQ.

    I'm building my own home studio. And I'm trying to figure out how I should set it up. I see other TH-cam videos saying how it's very important for everything to be placed perfectly, and be treated. Then I see rooms like this with 2 windows on the right. Does that not throw everything out of balance? Just asking how important it is to have a room that won't affect the sound negatively

    • @jamesreynold6711
      @jamesreynold6711 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s very important to do the best you can in the room you have. However if your space is limited or you can’t fully treat a room due to windows etc then get creative. At the end of the day you gotta roll with what you have - plenty of people make it work with windows. It is possible

      Honestly a lot of the videos that you will find will tell you all these things often with a commercial agenda behind it, making you believe it is crucial to buy this and this and that. The truth is, you can’t always have all you need for the “perfect” studio. I don’t know your level at music production, but I’d say unless you have been producing albums for Madonna or I don’t know who, don’t worry too much about how things “should be”. I believe that as long as you have well functioning ears, you will manage it and learn by doing. And if you are a brand new at music making, I would suggest you to not get too focused on how to make perfect mixes honestly... I constantly hear people only talking about mastering etc etc and completely leave behind the musical aspects, from my point of view, I rather hear a nice song with nice melodies but maybe not perfectly mastered, than a shitty boring music perfectly mastered. I know it’s been 2 months since you posted that, so I guess since then you are now set up (I hope for you), but I felt like writing this long monologue because when I started, no one told me this and I seriously wasted some time.
      Conclusion is: don’t get to heady about the technical aspect, you have ears? A keyboard? You can potentially make great music no matter your room! ;)
