What's so wrong about killing ants? So you want him to spend hundreds to thousands of dollars to fixing his home's walls and foundation? It's hard to make your home 100% impermeable. Easier to just spend $11 on ant poison and be done with it. The world isn't exactly short of ants.

i have ants. bought bait traps but they seemed to ignore. live in an apartment so the office sent a guy. he sprayed, put a little gel in traps. did look like it helped but they came back with a vengence. they came back today used a new spray and put gel in several places including all the traps now in better spots. seems its working as they are attracted to it

Yup, that's what I did. Camping out in an RV in south california, ants were fucking everywhere. in the cabinet, in the refrigerator, in the garbage, and some were even getting on the couch!
Googled "how to get rid of ants," and found out about the borax and syrup solution. I didn't have syrup with me so I just mixed it with sugar to see if it would work. Literally 3 days later, no living ant to be found.
Just make sure when you are mixing to add more sugar than borax. If you don't, they won't go for it.
