As a priestess player yeah she’s easy to play but mashing portals will get you killed easily and having people actually use your portals is the real challenge
Honestly, I think the OG survivors, including Lucky Guy, are best for new players. Lucky Guy teaches new players how different items work, Lawyer teaches new players spawn points, Gardener for new players learning to kite because she basically has 3 lives at the start of the match, Doctor for rescuing since she can heal, and Thief for teaching players how to kite while looking behind them.
I would personally disagree with recommending little girl to new players! To play her well you need to understand a good level of game sense and kiting skill which most new players don’t have. Her kit is more unique compared to other survivors and the best recommendation I give to people wanting to play LG is to play someone else first to get an understanding on how to use her skills right and not waste it! Overall, I feel she’s a character people should use after understanding basic game sense and how to kite :3

One advice I could give now to a beginner who still don't know which character pick up and how to play well is to NOT pick up any decoder character. That is something I learned (the hard way) when I started and the main reason for this is because decoders are always Hunter's main target. If the Hunter finds them they will be chased till death and if you're still not good at kiting then you're giving the Hunter an easy chair.
I did start playing recently and as someone who is a writer irl I did pick up novelist very early on (w entomologist as a secondary) - novelist is a lenient kiter but more importantly he teaches you how to look back and tight kite exceptionally well, two mainstays of kiting in this game. + he has good transition power and a free pallet stun with metaphor, as well as rescuing potential. He’s a pretty good all rounder imo

Priestess is amazing. I love her until she ruins my kiting. I main lawyer, who is the best all around once you understand him and no one is going to tell me otherwise. I know he's a decoder, but I will rescue and have managed a 5 cipher kite on a hunter (Geisha. Its ALWAYS Geisha 😂) with just being that good. I feel that sometime picking a character for looks is great, don't worry about the skills at first. I know a lot of players that main Prisoner (rip. He needs a buff and so does mechanic💀) and they have managed to actually pull a tie or a win out of kiting. ❤ So it really depends on who you want to play as IMO. I have a friend that sucks at kiting, hates anything but decoding but is now maining Professor, and they are actually enjoys kiting. They just needed to find that right character to play.

Good Seers can kite very good while grinding their owls. For them the owl farming is not hard at all and they and up surprisingly always having an owl ready. Most Hunters (Mid to High Tier) don't want to take the risk of meeting a good/decent Seer, especially when it's a VC Team with good coordination
You can think of Seer's owl as an extra health for anyone in the team. Not only can it be used on teammates but on himself as well. So basically in early game everyone have 3 health and if Seer is taking the chase most often than not he's farming owls while kiting!
priestess should be nerf to cannot enter a just place portal for 1,5 or 2 second to make her less furstrating and being a much more setup character rather than 5 cipher kiter all the time to balance with most other charcter.
while I do think she needs nerfs, this is not the way to do it imo, cause Dancer is already a setup character who can kite well, if Priestess can no longer kite whatsoever, Dancer will just always be the better pick unless you’re on a big map.
yeah, you got some point. But the things is, FD hunter can still destroy box (but that slow box under pallet really suck), roach have unlimited portal and portal dilemma that you must go through and get stun unless you give up and break it. the blue portal still decent since it have counterplay.
@@03.nguyennguyenbach40 Soooo do you just want a shorter stun then? Or replace the stun with a moment of slow movement speed? because your idea of a nerf will make priestesses useless. You can nerf a character without giving them the Mechanic treatment lol.
Wouldnt a good nerf is limiting locations on where to portal. It seems super unfair that they can just... portal to gate. I feel like her portals should be limited and cannot be use near the gate. It feels so overpowered especially in duos, and im mainly a survivor main.
i’m not a beginning player (i started playing back in 2020 and im picking it back up after 1.5 years) but and a bunch of new characters have been added and old ones have been reworked since the last time i played so i dont know who to even use anymore 🥲🥲 i used to be a mechanic main when i played regularly but apparently she got buffed to hell, and the last survivor i played was psychologist and i never really got the hang of her so this is really helpful :) tysm
i'm surprised postman didn't get a mention here 🫢 he's the first character i picked up after gardener given i started a month ago and honestly i just appreciate being able to help my teammates even if my abilities aren't all there yet. though i assume this list is more based on characters who can teach you how to master the basic skills the game requires such as kiting and rescue! which then, absolutely fair, because on many games with postman i can go without seeing the hunter at all if i stick to decoding and sending letters, while rescuing when the time calls for it since i always bring tide turner

best survivor for beginners to learn the game with is definitely lawyer. he has little kiting ability so you don’t learn to rely on abilities as much!

When I play a decoding character, the hunter just go near me literally every time. And then I die

Prisoner doesn't really need a buff.
His decoding is great and he doesn't need even more kiting buffs as a decoder.

Yeah a good Lawyer who can kite very good is slept on and daresay kind of underrated
the hard part about kiting as doc is knowing when to stop and heal and when to keep running
