Also survivors, IF THE HUNTER IS BUSY, PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT RUN FROM SOMEONE TRYING TO HEAL, JUST SO YOU CAN GO TO THE CORNER OF THE MAP IN A SPOT YOU CANT SEE THE HUNTER COMING!
It is okay to heal somewhat in the open, as long as you can see the Hunter coming!
Running to hide only wastes the time you could be healed, which could then still be interrupted by the hunter.
Sometimes I do that, some other times I won't let them heal if the hunter is near, bc I'm looking but they can't (apparently) and they just keep healing me, making me unable to move, and then get downed/hit again.
Healing in the hunters radius and out in the open though is actually not the smart move. As hunter I carry street sweeper for that reason so I can catch people off guard with easy hits cause they’re right there in an open area with nowhere to run and tbh it gets me so many wins.

I know right ugh I hate when i'm trying to heal someone and they keep moving. I just say forget it go ahead and die then. I'm not rescuing you either🤨 I can get real petty with my teammates if they're not working as a team
It saved me and my teammates several times (our hunter was really close and really blind)
The staying at the exit gates one reminded me of a thrower I got in a ranked match who spammed "you're on your own!" the entire match and camped at the exit gates so I couldn't get dungeon. The funny thing is that I kited the Violetta for 4+ minutes straight until I just eventually gave up lmao

It's always so frustrating when throwers never get chaired. Tbh when someone throws my game I just throw back. I had a dancer say something mean to me because I got her the match before, and then she said "you're on your own!" when someone got downed and refused to rescue when she was nearest. So I just followed her and stared at her. Eventually I guess I threw so hard the hunter just went afk in front of me and we won, so I guess task failed successfully
Oh my god same. This exact scenario happened like twice with a Luca. So annoying
They ban "Thank you!" And i feel ungrateful but "You're on your own!" Is still there?? Just rewrite it as "I'm not saving!"
The last mistake is also situational, im usually in call with my 2 friends so when we are in that situation, I just tell them leave when I already know where the dungeon is, but most of the time I don’t know where it is but I tell them to stay so I can find it and to buy time with tinnitus and so I don’t get crows to show my location.
One thing I like to do if I'm with a friend and some randos, is at the end one of us will spectate the kiter, while the other waits at the gate, that way we can see the moment they find the dungeon if they do, or rescue them if need be
That’s the smart thing to do and when it works out, if you are on VC. But with randoms they wanna emote at the gate when the hunter arrives.
sometimes I just so busy and nervous while kiting that I literally can't tell them that the dungeon is nearby and I am so mad when they don't leave, they need to understand by themselves THAT IT IS VERY BAD IDEA TO WAIT FOR ME
It is your fault, your teammates should always wait at the gate for support or body blocking
@@Muath-Mahmoud no, I don't mean seer or mercenary, very often it's decoder, plus you can't bodyblock hunter's red eyes especially when you are at the gate from the other side of the map ☠️
As a prisoner main, my shock has saved many survivors who'd have never made it through the gate if I didn't stay behind. I get it's hard to ping sometimes, but that doesn't mean that the person who is waiting is doing anything wrong.
@@Vantablack69 I would not have written such a comment if I hadn't face this every time. I had only a few great supporters who really helped me but the rest just stood at the gate and spammed emotions or even went to hunter for fun and died
I have to disagree. It's your call that you have to make. Its the same type of situation as the kiting survivor saying when they want the cipher popped (unless they get normal hit). There is value in sitting at gate because even if you get knocked somewhat near the gate, detention has probably run out and a rescue could be made or if there is still a tide in play, even better. I get you might be nervous in the moment or whatever but if you know in advance that you are going for dungeon or you are coming up on a potential dungeon location, pop a "get out of here" when you get a chance then. If people don't get out when you say, THEN its on them.
There is one rescuing mistake that happens quite a lot.
Once, seer got chaired, the hunter chose to not guard and instead went out to control ciphers, the hunter started chasing LG. I pinned that I was gonna rescue really early. But later when I was about to arrive, I noticed that LG that was kiting the hunter, ran back towards the chaired survivor. Bringing the hunter back for an easier guard when I could’ve secretly done the rescue. Sometimes it’s ok, sometimes it gets really annoying because after the hunter hit LG they didn’t have to travel much to find seer really quick.
Usually when that happens, don’t try to rescue when someone else already pinned, especially when you are chased, try to take the hunter away from the chair and let others do the rescue. (Completely different story if you are the only one near.)
I had that situation once, I was going to rescue bc I was close, but the hunter spotted me nearby, so he chased me, the other guy was saved by someone else, but since I was in a terrible spot, I got downed and the match went down afterwards.
I normally don't like to rescue being a decoder or kiter, but I've had more than enough matches when the rescuer doesn't care bc I'm closer to the chaired player, so they keep decoding (especially with merc, like what?).
@@rick30521 usually decoders (without tide) rescuing should be a last resort when no rescuer(or any eligible survivor) was near. Merc has the ability to travel far distances so as long as it wasn’t at the complete opposite side of the map, merc should have went for the rescue.
thanks for the tips! i actually didnt know that decoders would want to decode my cipher when they walk up to mine, so i never realised i made that mistake until now :D
I often play coders (Prisoner mainly) and man it drives me crazy when the other person won't give up the machine. Or when someone comes up to take over my machine. Also when the person on the other end is transferring right back to me x_x
I'm not sure what that thing does with prisoner (never played him), so I usually set it to 48%, doesn't that make the decoding faster when there's a person on both ciphers?
Prisoners skill is to speed up other Survivors ciphers. He does this by transfering 48% of his decoding. If you transfer 48% back to prisoner, his connection to you is pointless
@@rick30521 connected ciphers can transfer the person's coding up to 48%. Meaning if you've got the dial set to 48%, that's how much of your coding is being transferred to the other machine. Prisoners help their teammates code faster but tend to want to stay on their machine as long as possible. There are instances where transferring is good, even if you're not the Prisoner. You notice that bar beneath your coding progress? That's the other machine's coding progress. And Sometimes that other machine has more progress than yours, so you could transfer to it in instances where someone has been chased off it, or if it's the closest to being primed. Also prisoners will help the team by showing them which machines they should go to, especially later game. If there's 2 or less ciphers left, head to whichever ones he's connected. They're likely to have been started and potentially close to being finished.
I recommend testing him out or watching a video on how to use him. He's a very common character to run into and since he aids the team so much, it's important to understand how he works :)

@@thatonetheone if prisoner is transfering to you, your progress will be a lot faster. Basically, if he is connected to you (blue line from your cipher to his) then just assume he is helping you decode :)
Another tip can be don't desesperate. Sometimes you can have a lose strike, and because of your teammates or because of yourself, but remember that we all try our best, sometimes we just have bad luck. I'm the th 33 barmaid right now, and sometimes i kite really well, but others times i go down quickly xd. Don't be toxic with them, and don't be toxic with the hunter, they got really hard to play in high tiers

Ty for the first tip. As a composer main I always appreciate teammates giving me their cipher especially ciphers in a very good kiting area. But most of the time I need to search for a new one. Once Emily didn’t want to give me her cipher. She was chaired in the basement so please think twice before making decoders angry. Karma exists ❤
Also I want to add. Don’t go for the first rescue without a tide. And don’t steal rescues job. Yes, Emily mains, just DON’T. please, decode.

I've always thought that two player decoding was good. You know, the buff. I'll be sure to know which characters play decoder. I'll totally look out for a Composer there too, lmao

More people need to learn to give ciphers to decoders. The moment I notice a decoder coming to my cipher I get away, sadly many decoders just keep running like they need to find another cipher when I'm literally trying to give them mine, it's sadly bc of other survivors not giving them the cipher. Decoders should be decoding, not walking around for a whole minute looking for an empty cipher, which has happened to me as I kept running into ciphers with already people there (bc people were silent and not pinging!!!), and one even told me to leave- when I WAS THE DECODER ?!?! Like, yeah you were there first, but do you rather your decoder decoding, or running around and possibly coming accross the hunter?😭
Good video ! Just a missing note, don't get out to quickly from the Exit Gate if the Hunter doesn't know where is the last Survivor. If all are leaving he'll get crows the hunter will know about his position. You MUST wait until the survivor ping "Get out" or "The dungeon is here".
omg I lost so many matches bc someone was at the gate, sometimes bc of the dungeon but mostly when everyone left and one dude died at the gate bc he just stood there. EVERY TIME THIS DUDE THE SECOND OR THE THIRD SO WE LOOSE TIE OR WIN
I once had a match where I was kiting the hunter and the last cypher was popped. So I was running towards the gate where the other 3 where standing and waiting so I was happy to get a 4 man win. BUT THEN 2 of the others get knocked down and chaired because they were waiting in front of the gate while the hunter was following me with detention…. When I tell you I was mad 😒

its best not to camp the door bc hunters like wu chang could stun you or gamekeeper and its likely that they have detention
I always hide at the start of the match, if you find a good spot u can waste hunters time. They will have tinnitus but can't find you. Don't disturb the crows, walk and crouch, the hunter can find you if the crows are flying around.
You can't do that anymore, the hunter will always know where you are and they'll find you sooner.
3:05 as a new first officer main, i hate it when the decoders steal my rescue. I get 5 second tide from my watch for a reason

Yeah it’s a part of her kit, extra 70% decoding speed (I think)

Little girl main here. If a little girl synced on you at the beginning of the game tell them to decode another cipher. But if there's only one cipher left that is okay to sync. It would be faster if they decode separately in the early games.

I wish my teammates watched this video D: I always ping so much and they don’t understand!! I’m making my way to rescue having pinged stay put I’m coming ten times only to find another one of my teammates about to rescue
A problem I faced too many times is that when people pass near dungeons they dont ping it. When Im last left on the game it makes me search the whole place and I usually die. How can I fix this?
Oh no I feel awful two teammates left and one was left both gates where open I didn’t know there near the dungeon till the replay but I wanted to wait just In case they got chaired I think they where waiting to go to the dungeon but I didn’t leave and they got chaired I rescued them and we all made it out I felt happy that I stayed and got to help me them out till I seen the reply and noticed they where probly waiting for me to leave to hope in the dongin but they never told me it was there so I wanted to make sure they got out
I have a confusion with the message "focus on decoding".Does it mean "I'm focus on decoding" or " You focus on decoding"?
*Focus on decoding* have some meaning:
+If u on last prime machine and someone ping that quote , prime it.But i recommend to see the survivor which hunter chasing them,if they quote it ,prime.If they not ping anything,wait hunter hit them then prime.

Some people will ping it at the beginning of the match to show where they are. Also some people will ping it when they intend on going for the rescue. That way you focus on decoding while they head for the rescue.
I do the 3rd mistake some of the times, because my phone is lagging when I look at the hunter TvT
re: pinging, doesn't always work. the only other person in a match with tide was the first chaired. i pinged "stay put" = "im going to rescue" and kept decoding while waiting to see where they were ... and someone else w/o tide went to rescue instead...
edit: THANK YOU FOR SAYING DON'T WASTE TIME IN GATE JUST TO TAUNT HUNTER. im dual faction and it's my biggest annoyance
the main problem of kiting is when you not look back, also me keep dying in kite because to much looking back
i have been playing idv for 3 years and half, and max ciphers i can kite was 3 , even using mind eye, i can kite 3 ciphers, but it's luck, i cant kite much longer on a hunter that is Opera Singer
Mistake 5 can be danger if hunter bring "Nostalgic"
I always stay near the gate in case someone needs help, more often than not I do end up helping someone escape. If you are going for dungeon let the player waiting know. Also just be wary if you do this, what level of health they are on. If they are one chair from being done, leave. If they are two, you could just get a save but just be wary of it. I just find that easier.

Looking behind you is #1 mistake in my book. I spectate a lot and watch the “pros” matches and probably see 1 out of 20 matches where anyone actually looked behind them during a kite. Also gate camping is so annoying as a surv but as a hunter thank you for giving me the win 😂
looking behind you isnt a mistake. Its better than not looking behind.
you just need to master it. i dont think i've ever done good in a match when i didnt look back. i mostly go with qm's, though.

Beginner here! Why is it bad to help a decoder with a cipher machine? Isn't it good as it speeds up the process?
co-op decoding reduces decoding speed. don't decode together early game, its faster to move to another cipher. if you don't have many ciphers left, co op decoding is fine, especially if you're trying to rush the last cipher. 100% dont do it early game. if you co op decode it will have a little symbol above the progress bar that tells you it reduces decoding speed. Just give the decoder your cipher early game.

Haa just today i hard carried a match playing charles , my team did decent kites and i rescued like ... 4 times (only i had tide so it didn't really matter and the other two were decoders soo i didnt have a choice) anyways we ended up making it and the hunter switched to me when they popped . I went to graveyard and kited for 60 seconds there , AKA long enough for them to open the gate . I was spamming "Run ill escape through the denguon" , YET MECHANIC STAYED AT THE GATE . EMOTED AND SENT HER BOT WHILE THE HUNTER TP TO HER ... WE ENDED UP LOSING , I INSTANTLY LEFT PM BECAUSE I KNEW IF I DIDNT ILL END UP SAYING SOMETHING ILL REGRET ..😞 moral of the story dont emote and wait at the gate!!

Thank you so much for pointing the 5th mistake out, it's unbelievable that there are still gate waiters in 2023. Please, just get the F out people, you don't have much excuse for waiting anyway other than taunting at the hunter, that's not even justifiable, and the funny thing is if the hunter taunted at them, they'll consider it as toxic, what a bunch of double standards.

Now I'm usually the only one with tide and I'm the last one to go rescue bc for some reason three people with no tide are usually dancing in front of the chair and then getting TSed one after the other :3 (true events sadly)... gotta love random teammates 🥲
