I’ve been working on this painting for about a week or two, off and on. Finally developing a feel for your techniques. Not these easiest to emulate for me, but with practice I hope to achieve similar results. Thanks for taking me to the next level. I started because of Bob Ross and quickly realized that I wanted to paint with more detail. So now you’re my guru, and I’ve learned a great deal. I am still a complete novice but people are already giving me compliments. Onwards and upwards! Cheers mate!

@@TeamFish15 same here.....started painting a year ago after watching a Bob Ross video in the plane going back from Europe to the USA.... do not like his wet on wet technique so much and started on developing techniques to bring in more realism..... Michael and a few others were/are my inspiration. Learning a lot!!

I just visited the website that sells Michael's paintings. The detail is amazing. I think I will go back and start at the beginning of Michael's videos.... after watching dozens of Bob Ross videos (whom I do admire for the wet on wet quick painting technique... one finished painting per every 30 minutes... lol) I want to watch a real painter... one who has true artistic talent....
Bob was a trad painter first..he plays a role in encouraging ppl to “just do it.” He was very talented...

Hi! You work as though you are building a puzzle,,,,, excellent painting.
I love this paint. I'm trying to draw this painting but it comes out a different way when I use the fan brush at 4:14, I drew so many lines instead of dots. I will be happy if I can paint as 50% good as you did one day.
Since discovering your videos, I have bought at least 30 of the Rosemary & Co brushes. Excellent brushes and very helpful for following your techniques.

Hi Michael.Thanks for the video its superb as usual. You used to put up the photo you were using on the screen which I found very useful especially when blocking in. I know you said you use mid tones for that but I have great difficulty in deciding what they are! Is there a knack to it? It helps if you have an "artists eye" like you!

What about her "Smooshing" brushes? Great for blocking in background especially if you wish to create some distant and dark tree textures before a glazing. Keep up the good work.

Виртуоз! И кисточка прикольная, таких в продаже нет.Но а молотком расплющиваю круглую кисточку и ножницами прореживаю кончики- такая кисточка " сама рисует" листву и траву.Попробуйте и вы, любители живописи, такое " ноу хао".

Michael I noticed you have a tablet holder and arm that attaches to you easel. Where did you get that?
DON'T FORGET - Great to see how artists choose brushes for varied effects, but for landscapes, students should still study actual landscapes to see where and how light falls and creates shadows on different surfaces. Some textures become almost invisible at certain distances. So, head out with camera in hand and study all the details, noting time of day, type of terrain etc.
